While driving my Genesis 2010 sedan, the battery light illuminated, then the power steering did not respond. I was about 1/2 miles from my house and I had to wrestle with my steering wheel until I got home. The scary part was that I unexpectedly lost power steering during a turn at the traffic light. Luckily, no on coming traffic was near as I completed the turn on the opposite slide of the street. I fortunately arrive home, parked the vehicle and had it towed to the mechanics. I learned that the alternator went out and so did the battery. Luckly, during the turn I did not crash, but it was very nervous the rest of the way.

I was coming to a stop in traffic, the engine rpm was dropping, and wanted to change lanes. Upon accelerating I attempted to turn the steering wheel and I lost power steering, almost collided with other vehicles and was close to being hit by oncoming traffic. This has happened many times with this vehicle. I am speaking out now because I have seen NHTSA campaign number: 15v100000 and it sounds like what my vehicle does.
