Steering Noise Problems of Hyundai Genesis

Letter from congressman sarbanes on behalf of constituent re vehicle safety. The consumer stated there was a metal-on-metal sound coming from the vehicle and the steering would bind while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the noise and steering issues were confirmed. The dealer stated the problem was due to a seam failure on the chassis. The steering pump was replaced. However, a month later, the problem returned.

Vehicle steering wheel has continued to make a loud clicking/clunking noise during turning, primarily counter clockwise. Dealership has replaced clockspring (1st visit), lubricated steering components(2nd visit) and has now denied a "problem at all" per their district parts and services manager. No one is unable to come to a resolution as to why this noise is occuring, or what it causing it to occur to be able to determine if it is creating a driving hazard on the road or not. They are also unable to demonstrate to me that it doesn't pose a driving hazard. Due to the noises the steering wheel makes, I am uneasy driving the vehicle in fear of losing complete steering ability in the vehicle. Dealership, district manager, and consumer relations have been unable to assist in determining if this is a saftey hazard, or poor manufacturing.
