To whom it may concern, I am writing regarding multiple recalls affecting my 2025 Hyundai Palisade, specifically related to the electrical harness and ongoing safety concerns. Since purchasing the vehicle from a Hyundai dealership in [xxx] , I have experienced repeated issues. Initially, dashboard lights activated randomly while driving, followed by connectivity problems and a malfunctioning trunk. In February, the vehicle required full disassembly to replace the electrical harness, which disrupted a planned family trip. I was provided a Hyundai elantra loaner, which was not suitable for my family of five, causing a two-week inconvenience. Additionally, the dealership failed to complete a scheduled oil change, requiring me to return. Shortly after, I received another recall notice involving third-row safety concerns during a rollover. Given that a fatality has already been associated with this issue, I am extremely concerned about the safety of this vehicle, especially as I transport my three young children daily. The vehicle’s multiple recalls, safety risks, and extensive repairs have significantly reduced its value and reliability. I am also currently waiting on an airbag cap, but was informed on March 27, 2026, that the part received was incorrect, causing further delays. This has been my first Hyundai purchase, and it has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. The vehicle no longer feels new and appears to be unreliable due to ongoing defects. As of March 28, 2026, I am requesting the option to trade in the vehicle at the original purchase price or receive appropriate compensation. The vehicle has under 10,000 miles, and I am still making payments on a vehicle that does not meet multiple motor vehicle safety standards, including #226 ejection mitigation. I would like to resolve this matter as soon as possible and transition into a safe, reliable vehicle. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

While driving to work this morning, 12/31/25, at approximately 0730 my front sunroof exploded. There was no collision, no debris, nothing hit the glass. This put me and my child at risk due to exploding glass. I have attempted to contact dealer to inquire but am waiting on a returned phone call. I have filed a claim with my insurance as well. There was no warning that this was going to occur.

The front grille on my 2026 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy has developed visible deformation that appears consistent with heat damage or melting. The plastic behind and around the grille slats shows wavy, rippled distortion and texture changes. There is no evidence of impact damage, road debris, or external chemical exposure. The vehicle has approximately 2,000 miles and is only about 42 days old. The vehicle is unmodified and has been used under normal driving conditions. This damage appears to be a material or manufacturing defect, as automotive grille plastics should not deform under normal operating temperatures. I took the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai service center. The dealer acknowledged the condition but stated it would not be covered under warranty, claiming there is nothing mechanical wrong and that it is not a defect. No alternative explanation was provided for the heat-related deformation. I am concerned this may be related to excessive heat buildup behind the grille, material failure, or a design issue involving airflow, active grille shutters, or reflective trim. This condition should not occur on a new vehicle and may affect vehicle safety, cooling performance, or long-term durability. Photos of the affected grille areas are attached for reference.
I just purchased the new 2024 Palisade. We were traveling about 15-20 mph when approaching a stop sign when I pressed the brakes the abs braking system went on and I could not stop the car. The car seemed to learch forward while the abs braking was going on and the car did not stop in time and we traveled into the middle of the intersection. Good thing the driver coming from the cross street slammed on his brakes and did not hit us. The road we were traveling on was a little rough and bumpy at the point the abs engaged when I was breaking. The braking after the incident seemed to be normal operation.

The top moonroof spontaneously shattered and is in a compressed upward position. Nothing impacted it from beneath and glass fell on my infant daughter who was secured in her car seat.
- loud rattle in back of car which was determined by brenham TX Hyundai dealer to be bad rear shocks on 12/4/2025. - inspection available upon request. - faulty shocks could fall off and cause a wreck or damage/wreck to anyone following. - brenham TX Hyundai performed the inspection. - no warning other than the loud rattle coming from back of car. We were told that the shocks were in inventory. Setup up repair appointment on 12/12/25. Waited 1 hour then we were told the shocks were on back order. No idea as to when they would be shipped or re chives by the dealer.
The sun roof in our 2022 Hyundai Palisade exploded on Friday 28th November whilst we were driving down the highway on i25 to [xxx] . All of my family were in the car and the sunroof exploded outwards for no reason. There were no windows or doors open at that time to create pressure and no rock or item hit the sunroof. As you can see from the photos, there is very little glass inside the car and the majority of it exploded up and out from the car and the shape of the glass pointing upwards, indicates the explosion was from the inside of the car, to the outside. Despite the upheaval in the car , we were able to navigate the car safely off the highway. We were in contact with Hyundai corporate (case number xxx) and they have denied to accept responsibility for this design issue. We have seen numerous incidences of this online for exploding sunroofs on Hyundai Palisades. Our local Hyundai dealership inspected the sunroof and took record of the broken sunroof but they have denied to accept responsibility. We have filed a claim through safeco insurance (claim #xxx) and got the sunroof replaced through insurance. I have sent a case to safeco for subrogation for them to reclaim costs for Hyundai. We feel this is a significant design issue and will potentially cause other accidents in the future. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While on/idol, the 3rd row seat (left/drivers side) folded down on my 9 year old niece. Myself, mother, 6 year old daughter, sister in law, brother and 12 year old niece all witnessed this happen as we were loading into the car after playing at the park (I had the car turned on). Her head got pinned to the headrest of the 2nd row captain seat. The buttons did not respond as they usually/supposed to do to stop and reverse the folding action. The seat continued to press against her skull. After realizing the buttons in the cargo were not going to work, I had an idea and ran to the 2nd row door and pressed the captain seat button to slide it forward (my child was in that captain seat in a rear facing carseat). It wasn't able to move much but enough that the trapped girl was able to force her head out and her mom pulled her the rest of the way out to release her. It was very traumatizing. That 3rd row seat remained in that almost closed position as the buttons still would not function so we drove home. Eventually I tried the buttons in the again and it unfolded the seat. I have tested these buttons over and over since then to figure out what happened. Every time I test them, each button allows me to either release it and the action stops, or press the button again and the action stops. I do not know why it wouldn't respond to doing that same that day. Prior to that incident, sometime between getting the car on 7/31 and mid-November, I had an empty unbuckled backless booster car seat in the third row right/passenger side as a backup for daughters friends to use, and without remembering it was there, I pressed the button to fold down the 3rd row right side chair and it kept stopping and auto reversing, several times before I realized OH ya, the booster is back there. So when the innocent happened with my niece, it came as a big surprise because that booster weighs nothing compared to a 9 year old. It has not happened again.
Please remove the alert “consider a break”. This alert is very annoying and distracting. My opinion it does nothing for the safety of the vehicle. At the time I purchased the vehicle I was not advised about the alert. Had I known prior to purchase, I would have passed on the purchase. Please do something to remove or delete the aforementioned alert.
My son and I were driving down the interstate and all of a sudden we heard a loud boom. It felt like something hit the vehicle, but it was more like an explosion. I thought possibly a rock or something hit the back of my car, but that didn’t make any sense. There were no vehicles or bridges around us. I was two minutes from home so I drove home and when I pulled in the driveway, I heard a cracking noise. When I parked, we got out to investigate and determined that the cracking was coming from the moon roof. It was actively cracking. This is exactly what has happened to Palisades in the past with the exploding sunroof/moonroof.
Nhtsa safety defect report vehicle: 2026 Hyundai Palisade hybrid mileage at failure: approximately 3 weeks from new location: colorado description of failure while driving under completely normal conditions on a local road with no overpasses, no debris, and no external hazards, the sunroof glass suddenly exploded upward without warning. There was: no rock impact no falling object no roadway debris no weather event the glass failure originated from within the sunroof structure and shattered outward/upward. Out-of-control shipping period because this vehicle was purchased new, it spent a period of time in manufacturer and dealership custody during shipping and storage prior to delivery. During that time: the vehicle was not in owner control any manufacturing defect, stress fracture, or transit-related glass damage could only have originated before delivery danger created sudden explosive glass failure while driving, no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure or after the failure. Risk of facial injury risk of shattered glass entering vehicle cabin risk of loss of vehicle control extreme startle response at speed this could easily have caused a serious accident or injury. Manufacturer response Hyundai dealership and Hyundai consumer affairs reviewed photographs submitted by the dealer and wrongfully denied warranty coverage, claiming outside damage without any physical proof. Important note this appears to be a tempered glass manufacturing or transit defect, consistent with internal stress fractures that cause spontaneous sunroof explosions.
Child safety lock failure. When activating the child safety lock, it continously lock and unlocks, making a clicking noise. The lock is ultimately disengaged after which an error notification is displayed: child safety lock failure. It's been going on for at least 6 mo the now.

I was stopped at a stop sign with my foot firmly on the brake and vehicles engine starting revving. Next was stopped at my mailbox with the foot firmly on the brake and engine started revving again. Next, I was pulling into my garage and had just taken my foot off of the brake and engine revved again, this time propelling me into my garage wall. I have a video of the car pulling into the garage and you can hear the car accelerate.

[xxx] stalling in the middle of the street multiple times with kids in the car on the highway information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The abs system doesn't work properly on uneven, low speed roads. The brakes will not stop I have almost wrecked on multiple occasions. The seat belt located in the middle row, the middle seat belt gets stuck in the plastic causing the belt to stay loose. The vehicle also will shut its self down into "accessory" mode and put me into park not allowing me to move from traffic. It will either "reboot" or power off fully if I hit the ignition, I never know which it will do until it does it. It will sputter as if it is trying not to die if I am setting in a line or parked with the car on.
I smell gasoline through the ac vent at every stop when I drive the car locally at low speed (under 50 mph) after the car has been parked overnight. The smell eventually goes away after driving a while, but it comes back the next day when the car has been parked overnight. I feel like the smell is worse as the fuel tank gets lower. I took the car to the dealership and they were not able to identify the problem.
The weather became cold outside. After first frost overnight, an oil leak started underneath the hood next to the front passenger side tire. Got in be serviced 11/19. Told the plastic piece to oil housing assembly cracked and had 9 other Palisades in for same exact issue. No warning lamps. Cost $519 to replace part.

I was driving down a 4 lane highway at 70mph with no landscaping, cars or trucks around me what so ever and my sunroof imploded on me. Luckily my sunshade was closed. The glass was domed outwards like pressure from inside the cabin pushed it out and shattered into tiny pieces. Hyundai is aware of this issue but is not willing to cover it under warranty. My vehicle isn't even 3 years old and has less than 30,000 miles on it. I bought this vehicle due to all the great reviews about the warranty, well now that I need something fixed under warranty, they are not willing to help me out.
I was driving down the interstate with my sunroof and the panel closed. Sunroof exploded outwards. Not near an overpass or any falling debris. Glass flew everywhere. Thankfully the screen was closed and it did not come inwards.
I am reporting Hyundai motor America’s failure to remedy two active safety recalls on my 2025 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [xxx] ) within a reasonable timeframe, despite multiple attempts to have the vehicle repaired. My vehicle has two open safety recalls involving critical occupant protection systems, including seat belt buckle assemblies that may fail to latch properly and a third-row occupant safety defect that increases the risk of injury in the event of a crash or rollover. On October 23, 2025, I brought my vehicle to the Hyundai dealership specifically to have the recall defects repaired. At the time of drop-off, I clearly informed the dealership that the purpose of the visit was for recall repairs. However, the dealership labeled the visit as a “maintenance appointment” instead of properly documenting it as a recall repair visit. The recall defects were not repaired. I returned to the Hyundai dealership again on February 18, 2026, after being promised that the recall repairs would be completed. Once again, Hyundai failed to repair the safety defects, and the recalls remain unresolved. It is now February 20, 2026, more than four months since I first presented the vehicle for recall repair, and Hyundai has failed to remedy these critical safety defects or provide a clear timeline for repair. These defects involve essential safety systems, including seat belts and third-row occupant protection. I have four children who regularly occupy the rear seating areas, and I am deeply concerned about their safety. Hyundai’s failure to repair these safety recalls has placed my family at risk. Because Hyundai has failed to repair the vehicle within a reasonable timeframe, I am requesting NHTSA investigation and assistance. I am also requesting that Hyundai provide trade assistance, replacement, or buyback so that I can obtain a safe vehicle for my family, at no cost to me, due to Hyundai’s inability to remedy these safety defects. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The sunroof exploded while driving.
While closing the front door to the vehicle the back window shattered. Cause is from thermal shock or improper installation of the rear window heating element. I tried to reach out to billingsley Hyundai of lawton and they simple stated that they are not able to do window repairs and that it would not be covered under warranty. They didn't even offer to look at the vehicle to diagnose the issue. I have an appointment with safelife to replace the window. No symptoms were shown prior. We only use the buttons on the rear hatch to open and close it. No manual operation to open and close the rear hatch have been done since owning the vehicle. Safety wise it is a good thing none of our dogs were in the vehicle at the time or the shards of glass would have sprayed onto them. The glass also flew out the back around 2 feet that could have harmed anyone if they were around the vehicle.
My location of work has metal grates (to close a metal gate) at the entrance and exit. I’ve experienced many many times at the exit as I am breaking the breaks slipping. I’ve noticed it other times as I break while driving over uneven surfaces. I finally started digging because that’s not normal and it was brand new. It appears others have had the same issue. It doesn’t look like a recall has been issued, but definitely needs to be.
New Hyundai Palisade hybrid calligraphy awd speedometer and critical information screen and heads up display while driving goes blank. This has happened to me twice. I have been directly in contact with Hyundai USA and my local dealership to resolve this critical safety issue. Hyundai engineers have been working the issue with suggestions to my dealership to identify and resolve the problem. Hyundai engineers are shotgunning the solution with no success. With this safety issue in mind, I request that you contact Hyundai to request they have a product recall on this vehicle. This problem puts just not me but all other drivers at a significant safety risk on our highways. I request feeds back on this issue.
Leaking coolant: I have noticed that the coolant tank is empty a couple of days before and took it to the dealership and filled that. In 24hrs I saw the level went from full to lower level (so there is certainly leak happening. However, the dealership in not able to identify leak after 7-8 hrs testing. What is wrong with Hyundai Palisade 2021? I am not sure if it is safe to drive.
I am a 77 year old senior and was driving my 2025 Hyundai tucson highbrid at approx. 70 mph on the highway, then suddenly there was significant shuddering through the tucson with noticeable loss of power. The tucson dropped to 30 mph. After that it would accelerate with significant shuddering. This would repeat several times while driving. In addition there were no malfunctioning indicators, or warning lights. We were never so scared in our lives. This occurred on Thursday , October 2 nd. 2025 at around 1:00 p. M. On highway 355 and 53 traveling northbound.
Component/system: engine — specifically the engine valve springs and related components. Description of what happened: while driving, the vehicle began to shake violently, and the check engine light came on. At times, the vehicle loses power and shuts off completely, then restarts and drives normally for a short period before the issue returns. It feels and sounds like the engine is about to fall out. These symptoms match the description in Hyundai safety recall 255 for the 2024 Palisade (fractured engine valve springs that can cause engine failure, loss of power, and fire risk). Safety risk: the sudden loss of power and engine shaking put my safety and the safety of others at risk, especially while driving in traffic or at higher speeds. The problem could lead to a crash or engine fire if the valve springs fracture or the engine block is damaged. Inspection/confirmation: the problem has not yet been officially confirmed by a dealer, but Hyundai stated that my VIN is not included in the recall, even though my vehicle shows the same symptoms and falls within the recall’s production timeframe. Prior warnings or messages: the check engine light comes on when the vehicle starts shaking, then goes off after the vehicle stops or restarts. The issue has occurred multiple times, most recently in early October 2025. Additional notes: the vehicle is a 2024 Hyundai Palisade, and the issue began about 5 days ago. The symptoms are consistent with fractured valve springs as described in the recall. I am requesting investigation and inclusion of my VIN in this recall.
I was driving through town at a low rate of speed (20-30 mph) with 2-3 car lengths between me and the next vehicle. I continued through light to next light. This distance was on an upward incline. After traveling approximately 500 ft, I noticed the traffic slowing in front of me and took my foot off the accelerator to start to slow down. This is when the car suddenly accelerated (instead of slowing down as would be expected when traveling up an incline), picking up speed quickly. The car's response happened so quickly that I was unable to swerve to avoid hitting the car in front of me. I hit the car in front of me that was slowing down at the light which then subsequently hit several other vehicles that were in front of it that were also slowing/stopped for the light. The front airbag deployed as a result of the collision, knocking my glasses off. The vehicle was still continuing in forward motion after the collision…. Traffic crash report states, “. . . [witness] went up to unit 1 [palisade], and the tires were still spinning…” as I was in shock after the collision, a bystander came up to the vehicle to turn it off and this is when the wheels/forward motion was completely stopped. This Palisade is equipped with forward collision avoidance assist (fca) system. There was no warning given nor did the vehicle attempt to slow down during the event so I believe that this system failed to operate which contributed to the collision. I also believe that there was a failure with the engine/electrical system, etc, and/or transmission that caused the system to suddenly accelerate while traveling uphill after I removed my foot from the gas pedal. The vehicle was totaled by my insurance company. They did say that they were sending an engineer to review the event data recorder. I have not seen any results from that nor do I have the vehicle in my possession as it was totaled.
The air compressor on my 2020 Hyundai Palisade with 55,321 miles has completely malfunctioned. The issue was diagnosed by five star Hyundai dealership in macon, georgia on 9/26/25 and is currently available for inspection. The repair will cost $1,781. A failed a/c compressor in a 5-year-old vehicle could put my safety or others’ safety at risk due to reduced visibility from poor defrosting, driver impairment from extreme heat, and secondary damage affecting critical systems like steering or electrical power. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to air compressor failure. However, Hyundai has issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) for certain 2020–2022 Palisade vehicles regarding the ac compressor. Bulletin 24-ha-003h: this TSB addresses reduced ac performance due to an "out of specification" ac compressor pulley and hub assembly.
The engine has been intermittently cutting off every day. We have taken it to the dealership multiple times, and they say they cannot recreate the issue, so there is absolutely nothing that they can do. The vehicle will shake a little bit and then turn off.
My vehicle has had a recall for seat belt issues for a while. My dealer has been unable to make corrections as Hyundai has not/does not have the equipment to repair the issue. Its been months. Now theres another issue with airbags, and rumors of another issue with headrests. They have sold me a lemon and they are not providing a remedy.
Batteries in the brand new 2026 Hyundai Palisade are failing by dying unexpectedly with under 500 miles on the vehicle. I have documented over 20 instances with new owners online. This is a safety concern because it can leave people stranded in cold weather. It appears to be an issue with the digital key. I contacted Hyundai and they are not concerned. They just test the battery and say they can't find anything wrong.
This vehicle has driver-assist functions and warning lamps in the electronic instrument cluster located in the driver's display area. Randomly and unpredictably a group of warning lights -- "check blind spot" collision alarm, lane safety indicator light, triangle-shaped general alert icon -- all activate simultaneously for no apparent reason. The unpredictability creates a serious distraction to the driver and potentially unsafe reactions which could result in damages and injuries. There are numerous references to this problem on the internet, indicating this is a widespread safety issue for Hyundai models. Dealer said possible recall imminent.

I've had two incidents with my car. I've been to the service center several times, but no one can help me. How much longer can this go on? it's been going on since September.
