38 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 08/07/2025

Rear suspension making popping sound at low speed. Rear shocks have also seemed not performing properly over potholes at one time causing an error code for the awd system. Had local dealer make repairs for TSB for this know issue of shock mounting insulators. Vehicle noise was fixed and ride seemed to be improved for about one day then it started making same popping sound again at slow speeds. Assuming rough ride will return shortly.

39 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

Repeated rear suspension failures on cars with self leveling suspension. I will be having my 4th set installed in 3 years. Rear suspension failure leads to unpredictable cornering and possible accident in and emergency maneuver. Hyundai has stated that there is no issue to warrant a recall or TSB. I have filed a complaint with Hyundai corporate.

40 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

Vehicle is experiencing a breakdown in chassis with the failure of at least one rear selfleveling shock absorber on the right rear suspension of the vehicle and possibly the same condition exists on the left rear suspension. Concern exists for the shock absorber mount to completely become detached from the frame assembly resulting in loss of stability and vehicle control. Hyundai dearlership has been contacted for assistance in remedy of the situation but they have failer to respond to request for replacement/repair of the failed shock absorber mount which has been been noted in a Hyundai service bulletin.

41 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

The 2021 Palisades started riding very rough and bouncy. I made an appointment and took it to edmond Hyundai for the repairs. They initially said that the rear insulator-strut needed to be replaced and they would order them. It took 10 days to get the parts from dallas and made another appointment to get it fixed. The dealership took 6 hours to replace only the insulator and kept it over night to do the 4 wheel alignment which they would not cover as warranty per the service manager but it was need. I picked it up the next day only to discover that only the insulator was replaced and was told that the service tech test drove the vehicle and it's fixed. I drove out and tested the suspension, it took only 1 mile and back it went to get fixed.

42 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/30/2025

**vehicle:** 2021 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy, ~75,000 miles. Purchased February 2025. **problem 1 - forward camera failure:** the forward-facing camera system controlling lane keeping assist, emergency braking, and lane departure warning has completely failed. Dashboard warnings appeared in recent weeks including "check forward safety system" and "forward safety system disabled" before total failure. This eliminates critical safety features designed to prevent accidents, significantly increasing collision risk. Camera unit behind rearview mirror available for inspection. **problem 2 - rear shock failure:** rear shock absorbers have failed, causing excessive clunking and compromised vehicle stability. Rear suspension has been clunking since purchase in February. This creates dangerous driving conditions with reduced stability, increased stopping distances, and poor emergency handling. This is a known issue covered under Hyundai technical service bulletin 22-22-001h. **safety risk:** both failures create serious safety hazards - eliminating collision avoidance systems and compromised vehicle control/stability. **professional confirmation:** local Hyundai dealer has confirmed both the camera system failure and rear shock absorber failure through diagnostic testing and inspection. **components available:** both the failed camera system and rear shock absorbers remain available for inspection upon request. **request:** investigation and remedial action for these safety-critical defects, particularly given the rear shock issue is a documented manufacturing problem per TSB 22-22-001h.

43 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

Have a 2020 Palisade unlimited with self leveling shocks, started hearing clunking, knocking noise in rear. Have 74k miles currently but started hearing knocking sound at about 55k miles. Replaced shock mounts on both sides which didn’t fix the problem.

44 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/24/2025

Auto leveling suspension failed 3 times under 40,000 miles traveled. Numerous online complaints point to design flow or parts quality issue.

45 Suspension problem of the 2025 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/22/2025

Driving down gravel and uneven road when trying to break at stop sign. Car would not slow down or break as another car was coming down the road. At this time is when I pushed the break petal all the way down car was still not slowing down, the car started to do the death wobble, shake violently and vibrating, pulsing back and forth side to side up and down, steering wheel shaking. I had to let off the break and press the gas to hurry and speed up before the oncoming car hit me with my 2 small children inside. I have taken my car to the dealer ship and they told me there is no recalls for the 2025 Hyundai Palisade my car has 5,036 miles on it bought it brand new off the lot, the service representative states they will look into it that it may take 24-48 hours to get back to me, but this may also be a suspension component but they will look into the incident. There were warnings signs and I take this route everyday every time I would break I could never fully press the break down as it would start shaking and make metal on metal noise and I would have to ease off the break petal.

46 Suspension problem of the 2024 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

My brakes are intermittently disengaging during bumps and potholes. I experience a rattling undercarriage and pedal vibration. Sometimes I must crank the steering wheel to regain braking. This poses an immediate safety risk to myself and others. The service advisor mentioned other customers coming in for the same issue. I have had my car in three times for this issue but they’ve never been able to replicate the issue. It has been an ongoing issue since the inception of the lease but has gotten progressively worse. This is a life-threatening issue.

47 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/08/2025

TSB # mc-10207814-0001 I have already had this repaired once, in 2023 and the other in 2024. My vehicle is now out of warranty, and Hyundai won't do anything for this fix. Looking online, there are plenty other complaints regarding the rattling noise experienced with this issue. I believe this should become a recall, and all vehicles on the road should be able to get this replaced in or out of warranty.

48 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

The rear shocks have gone bad 2 times already, and now are bad a third time at 28,000 miles. The shocks begin to clunk and the rear end vibrates over bumps.

49 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 06/25/2025

Rear shocks failed at 71,000 miles, front shocks are now failing at 73,000 miles. Vehicle is not driven under harsh conditions and all recommended maintenance has been performed. Service advisor said “the Palisade is notorious for this”. Front rotors/brakes have been reported as in good conditions for months. Now, front rotors are suddenly so warped they need to be replaced immediately.

50 Suspension problem of the 2024 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 06/22/2025

Unknown, but feeling a lot of issues in this area and very sensitive.

51 Suspension problem of the 2024 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 06/17/2025

I started hearing a rear thunking noise at approximately 10,000 miles. It was sporadic, not constant. With more miles, more distinct noise from rear of vehicle. At service appt and 24,000 miles a leaking rear shock was replaced. Two days later the same noise returned. The car goes back in to dealer tomorrow. Everything I’ve read points to this vehicle model having serious suspension issues - particularly with strut and shock assemblies.

52 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 06/16/2025

The rear shock absorbers and mounts fail. This is the second occurrence of this failure. The first occurrence was covered under warranty at 36,530 miles on [xxx]. The current failure was documented on [xxx] with 64,249 miles. This problem is a recognized issue and has been documented on numerous postings on [xxx] . No warnings from the vehicle other than clunking sounds from the rear of the car. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

53 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 06/15/2025

2020 Hyundai Palisade limited with 71k miles. The rear shocks have been replaced 2x and the front struts have been replaced once already. The front struts knock over smooth rides and low impact imperfections. The rear shocks feel to have seemingly worn out, resulting in reverberating knocking sounds over bumps, cracks and road imperfections.

54 Suspension problem of the 2024 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 06/11/2025

After about 15,000 miles of normal driving (a few road trips but mostly commuting and taking the kids to school and sports, no towing or off roading), my vehicle developed a clunking noise. This noise was inspected by the dealer and determined to be an issue with the rear struts. This is the first time in almost 30 years of vehicle ownership that I have had a vehicle require a strut replacement.

55 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 05/31/2025

The shocks on my 2022 Hyundai Palisade are defective. I had both shocks and the absorbers replaced the first time at 44,349 miles on 5/31/25. I had the driver side rear shock and absorber replaced again at 46,567 miles on 7/24/25. I am having the same driver side rear shock replaced again at 48,484 miles on 10/3/25. Defective shocks are a safety hazard by increasing stopping distance and reducing traction in inclement weather conditions. They also cause uneven wear on my tires, which reduces traction, too. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This is a well known problem that Hyundai has failed to correct. I believe they are just making repairs as necessary until the vehicle is no longer under warranty. I have the receipts from the dealer for each repair.

56 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 05/28/2025

Rear shocks fully worn out struts and shocks are no good very dangerous when hitting a large bump in the road can cause steering off road because of hard hitting no shock rear end.

57 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 05/13/2025

2021 Palisade was in for a repair on 5-13-2025. Mileage at that time was 62,144. I requested that a noise that I was hearing in the back of the car be investigated. The noise sounds like a pop that happens when turning or going over bumps. I was told by the dealer that the rear shock insulator caps needed to be replaced to the tune of $2000. I was not told there is a TSB for this issue. Unfortunately, this issue occurred when I was on vacation or I would have been able to have the car looked at before it hit 60,000 miles. The warranty might have covered this issue at that time. I researched this issue and learned of the TSB on this vehicle for this issue. I have read this website and learned that many have reported this.

58 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 05/07/2025

Have had rear shocks replace twice by the dealer with less than once at 35,000 miles again at 60,000 mile on the SUV. Now with around 70,000 miles on the SUV the shocks need replaced again. It is unacceptable for a manufacture to know how bad the shocks are on a vehicle and not come up with a better design. This is a border line safety concern suspension plays a vital role in a vehicles road manners and ability to maneuver car in hazardous situations. Replacing shocks on a vehicle every 25,000 miles to have a safe vehicle for my family is unacceptable.

59 Suspension problem of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Knocking sound when making turns or when going over bumps major and minor.

60 Suspension problem of the 2025 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

My 25 pallisade front end/front wheels shake violently when braking and hitting a bump at the same time. It shakes so hard my steering wheel shakes also. It can happen when braking hard, soft, small bump, big bump, it doesn’t seem to matter. It is brand new and I took it into the dealership when there was about 1500 miles on it. They didn’t find anything wrong.

61 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 04/30/2025

1. When accelerating, the entire car shudders intermittently but especially after letting off of the accelerator and then reapplying pressure to the accelerator. 2. The entire rear suspension makes popping and clicking noises constantly and seems to "bottom out" when going over the slightest bump or road imperfection. It causes the vehicle to bounce excessively potentially causing it to "fish tail". Discussed with dealer during early scheduled maintenance with little to no concern by them.

62 Suspension problem of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 04/03/2025

I am experiencing recurring failure of the rear self-leveling shock absorbers on my 2023 Hyundai Palisade calligraphy. This is a repeat failure after a warranty repair approximately 10 months ago in which both rear shock absorbers were replaced along with the upper insulators per TSB 22-ss-001h. Current symptoms: the noise occurs on both sides, primarily at lower speeds (under 20 mph), and is most noticeable when the vehicle is turning and weight transfers off a wheel, or when encountering a series of small, sharp impacts. The noise does not occur consistently with every bump but appears related to suspension unloading. Abnormal "pogo-ing" behavior: on smooth road surfaces at speeds between approximately 5-20 mph (such as in slow traffic on freshly paved roads), the rear of the vehicle exhibits a rapid, repetitive bouncing motion that jolts passengers forward and back. This behavior is pronounced enough that passengers have noticed and questioned it. Symptoms are noticeably worse in cold weather and improve somewhat in warm conditions. The rear suspension feels firmer after the vehicle has sat unused for several days. After regular driving, the suspension becomes softer and more compliant. This is a widely documented problem affecting 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade models equipped with the nivomat shocks, per carscoops Hyundai is aware of the problem. Online forums and complaint databases contain hundreds of similar reports. Many owners report multiple shock replacements under warranty, with some experiencing 3-7 replacements on a single vehicle. The replacement parts appear to be the same design as the original components and fail at similar or accelerated rates. This issue can affect vehicle stability and braking distances, making it a concerning safety issue. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this recurring suspension failure as a safety defect warranting a recall and the development of properly redesigned replacement components for affected vehicles.

63 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

Suspension has been an issue since 10,000 miles. Rear shocks replaced at 58,000. 3,000 miles later the noise & bumpy ride have returned. Had to replace front brakes before 50,000 miles due to wear. Replaced all 4 tires due to extreme uneven wear at 45,000.

64 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 04/01/2025

Oem shocks are clunky and noisy. Exhibit a rattling sound at lower speeds namely at rear right. Noise is progressive and noticeable at higher speeds as time goes on.

65 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 03/28/2025

Self leveling struts continually are trash. They do not last more than 2 to 3 thousand miles of highway driving before they are no longer safe. The adaptive cruise control randomly reads as "radar blocked". And will work only intermittently.

66 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 03/20/2025

The shocks have been worn out, clunking and not damping bumps. It causes excessive bounce making the vehicle hard to control on the road. It has been verified by a shop and no warning signs on dash.

67 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 03/17/2025

Rear shock leaking and in need of replacement at 39,000 miles. Note multiple owners on forums citing the same issue.

68 Suspension problem of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 03/15/2025

Oil consumption causing hesitation and near-stalling. Hard shifting as well. These issues led to dangerous situations where I was afraid to drive the vehicle and feared for my family's safety. Also had a failed a/c compressor which I had to replace out of pocket. These things shouldn't be happening on a 4 year old vehicle.

69 Suspension problem of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 03/05/2025

Vibration in rear shocks. Car makes regular thumping noises. Bad insulation caps. There is a technical service bulletin 22-ss-001h to replace them under warranty. It is a temporary fix and the problem develops again. My car is no longer under warranty.

70 Suspension problem of the 2021 Hyundai Palisade

Failure Date: 03/03/2025

Rear suspension shocks were blown and started leaking causing the vehicle to become very bumpy and unstable. The blown shocks were confirmed by a brake shop and ultimately replaced at the manufacturer dealership.
