The brake light switch is malfunctioning and causing the brake light to stay on continiously. This is dangerous because the brake light stays on so theres no indication that I'm getting ready to stop because the light is already on, increaseing the risk of a crash. The cruise control is also afecteced with this issue because it stop working at the same time. I looked up the recall and it said that 2013 -2015 hydundia Santa Fee sport vihecles were affected, but when I call the dearlership they said my VIN# was not included in the recall!.

(jcc add fuel propulsion, remove ext light) tl the contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. Upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. After driving a short distance, the electronic stability control warning indicator also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing, which produced failure codes for the fuel senders and brake light switch. The vehicle was not repaired. The mechanic stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v113000 (service brakes, hydraulic, exterior lighting). The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the driver following behind the contact informed her that the brake lamps were not illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle and observed the brake lamps failed when the brake pedal was depressed. Also, the cruise control failed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake light switch band failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13v113000 (exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
This has been a repeated problem for a long time. Early on I would have a brake lamp light that I would be told was out. We would take the light bulb out and reinsert and it would fix the problem. We assumed it jiggled loose. Then, at a later time, I would be told that the other brake light was out, and we would repeat the process and take it apart and it would amazingly start working again. Beginning in November 2014, taking the light apart no longer fixed it, so we checked and replaced fuses and lightbulbs, but it didn't fix it. Up until this time, the right brake light would go out and then it would be the left one intermittently. Then, as of December 2014, neither brake light works and the third brake light in the rear window has five small bulbs that stay lit at all times, but currently the third light in the rear window is the only light that comes on while applying the brake. Since it is apparently not the lamp or the fuse, I'm wondering if my vehicle is included in the Hyundai recall no. 092, a stop lamp switch recall, or any other recall pertaining to this issue, since I am reading a lot of complaints on this same issue? I am afraid that I am going to be in an accident since it is an intermittent and now, apparently, full-time problem. Please advise because after talking to several repair shops, they are not sure what is going on. Thank you!.

Purchased vehicle brand new, the rear brake lights failed and I was rear ended @ 65 mph. Vehicle suffered $14,000 in damage with a bent frame. The value of my vehicle is now diminished drastically and it is reported in car fax report. Approximately 2 years later vehicle was recalled for faulty brake lights and the brake switch was replaced at the dealership. I should not suffer financial loss due to negligent parts that were manufactured and installed on this vehicle.

Esc off indicator stays illuminated problem: no brake lights. Dealership states my vehicle is outside the manufacture date range included in the TSB campaign # 092 / 09-01-018 and will not replace the stop lamp switch under warranty. (my Santa Fe was manufactured in June 2007). Approx. $75 replacement cost for a known issue. According to online forums this problem is not limited to the manufacture dates indicated in the TSB. This is a serious safety issue; one that I would have hoped Hyundai would take more seriously.

Brake lights did not illuminate. Stop light switch fail, $25 part. Recall campaign for later model years 2007-2011 Santa Fe's.
We own a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. There was a recall on a faulty brake lamp switch. We had that replaced by the dealer. Our vehicle is now encountering problems with it applying brakes for no reason while operating it on the roadways. We have yet to have had an accident, even though the vehicle brakes and slows on its own without notice and for no reason. We have been told that the yaw sensor is bad. We are lucky that no accident has occurred as of yet because of this problem. I saw that there was a recall on the 2005 Hyundai tuscons for this or a similar problems with the yaw sensor. Is there or will there be a recall on the Santa Fe's now or in the near future for this braking system which is unsafe? the dealer wants to sell us the defective and dangerous part for $493. 00 plus tax and between $200. 00 and $300. 00 labor to install. You need to look into this dangerous and defective part. Thanks, greg johnston.
Brake switch failure which caused recall of all 2006 Hyundai models except sante fe which was recalled in 2007 for that same issue.
