1 Tire problem of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/29/2025

The failure occurred in the sidewalls of the two factory?supplied all?season tires on the passenger?side (front and rear) of my 2024 Hyundai santa?fe. Both tires exhibit pronounced bulges on the outer sidewall of the front passenger tire. Tire size is 255/45 r20 105v m+s the rear oem tire was replaced on February 10, 2025 and front oem tire (with dot codes visible) remain mounted on the vehicle, but I must replace it to keep the vehicle operational. I noticed the bulging of the second tire today, July 29, 2025. Sidewall bulges indicate internal cord separation. A sudden loss of air pressure or blowout—especially at highway speeds—could result in rapid vehicle instability, loss of control, and a potentially serious crash, endangering occupants and other road users. No, the problem has yet to be inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or others. However there is mounting conserns and simular reports of the same problem occurring with other owners of 2024 Hyundai santafes with the same oem tire. No warning lamps, messages or other symptons prior to the problem occuring. There has been no off?road use, curb impacts, overloading, or manufacturing advisories at the time of discovery. My best assessment is a potential manufacturing or design defect in the oem tire sidewall construction causing premature internal separation under normal use.

2 Tire problem of the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/28/2025

I’m reporting a recurring safety issue with the pirelli scorpion all season ms tires (255/45 r20) factory-installed on my 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid calligraphy. At just over 7,500 miles, I began experiencing significant vibration at highway speeds. The dealership diagnosed the issue as defective tires — two were replaced, but the issue returned within 24 hours. I stopped driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. This problem appears to be common: I’ve found numerous reports of scorpion ms tires showing early failure, poor balance, bulging, and premature/uneven wear — all within low mileage. They stated that it was still an inherent issue with the tires and I would need new ones. Thus I requested to have a different set tires given the issues with these. These issues compromise the vehicle’s stability and may present a serious hazard in wet or winter conditions. I’m concerned these tires are not structurally reliable and should not be standard on family suvs like the Santa Fe. Hyundai and pirelli should investigate this tire line for potential safety defects or recall. I understand that it is the scorpion ms, as plus 3 and the verde with these similar issues. Unfortuneately for some reason your site won't let me post my photo, but I was able to file it under the same VIN under my report for the Santa Fe.

3 Tire problem of the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/23/2025

Ever since I have purchased these tires I have been experiencing extreme violent vibration between 60 to 75 mi an hour on the highway at first I wondered if something was wrong with the balance on the tire so I had them checked at the dealership twice and then I went to another dealership because the problem continue and had them checked same results no issues the balance machine only goes to 55 mph then I took it to a private garage paid out of pocket for the diagnostic twice because the problem over time persisted I also had an alignment done out of pocket and the problem again persisted I did a little research yesterday and there's many threads and forms in which people have complained about the exact same problem with the exact same tires I have screenshots I have video of my car doing it this is a manufacturer's defect that I'm trying to get addressed before somebody gets killed I have spoken to pirelli corporate itself about this they're going to be issuing me a warranty claim let's see how far I get with that but the problem still is out there for others.

4 Tire problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/23/2024

I was driving at around 11 a. M. On a city road at about 30 miles per hour when front passenger tire suddenly popped and car began to swerve almost colliding with vehicle in adjacent lane. The tpms alert showed up on dashboard after the tire popped. There were no potholes or any objects that the car hit. The car along with tires had been inspected during routine maintenance at the dealer five days prior to this incident and no issues were found on tires or any lights on the dashboard. There were also no symptoms leading up to the tire suddenly popping. I contacted the manufacturer who referred me to an authorized center. After submitting the claim at the authorized center, they provided a replacement 255/45r20 at 50 percent discount.

7 Tire problem of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/22/2023

This tire was observed as defective in an inspection at holler Hyundai in winter park FL. It was supposed to be mailed to continental tire for inspection, but the dealership failed to do that. I have photos of the defect (wire protruding for inside side wall). Every effort to discover the tire's location has been frustratingly stonewalled by the folks at the dealership. This tire's lot might be dangerous to other drivers and needs visible inspection.

13 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 08/20/2012

Cupped tires in rear. Heavy wear on inside of tires. I seem to be having the same problem as many others with tires wearing out much quicker than they should.

14 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 07/11/2012

Have had two sets of tires cupping. Had alignments and need a 3rd set of tires because of cupping. The noise is extremely loud while driving it and we can not afford $500-$600 for buying new tires all the time.

15 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 11/15/2011

Second set of tires cupping. First set replaced at 23000 miles. Current tires bad at 58000 miles. Have no reason for this. Tire rotation done every 5000 miles. Tires not over-inflated. Not alignment issue, although alignment was done and bolts replaced at 23000 miles. Sounds like a Hyundai suspension problem.

16 Tire problem of the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/10/2011

I am in the process of financing a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe that has bridgestone dueler ht tires on it. This car has 29176 miles on it. I took it to a well known place to have my oil changed and tires rotated. They changed the oil but informed me that none of the tires were going to be able to be rotated because of uneven tread wear and the existing tire tread is less than 2/32nds of an inch on each tire. I purchased this car with only 7 miles on it and have only had it for 1 1/2 years so the tires should not have to be replaced. I have already had to have an alignment on this car and have had the tires rotated regularly so uneven tread wear should not be an issue at this point. I have also read reviews on this tire online and all of the reviews say the same thing about the uneven tread wear, some even say that the tires have exploded. Such a costly tire of this caliber should not have to be replaced at such frequent intervals. I was reading my owner's manual and it recommends that tires be replaced every 6 years depending on driving habits. These tires should be recalled immediately and replaced at no cost to the consumer. They are putting innocent people in danger everyday. (tread wear as listed on my receipt: driver front-2/32, driver rear 5/32, passenger front 3/32 and passenger rear 5/32).

17 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/01/2011

Local city driving. Just over 12k miles on vehicle. Excessive wear on the inside shoulders of the front tires.

18 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/10/2010

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe - the tires are prematurely wearing out. Every 15 months or so the tires must be replaced. Good tires and rotated regularly. There is something wrong. There are too many other people with the same problem. The dealer has replaced sway/tie rods, aligned tires, still tires wear out. Vehicle is still under warranty but the cost of the tires comes out of my pocket. Something must be done to identify the cause of this.

19 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

My 2007 Hyundai has a problem with the wearing on the front tires. I purchased it in January of 2008, and have had to replace the front tires twice. This causes the vehicle to skid and braking is somewhat difficult. I told the dealer, but there was no resolution.

20 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/08/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving 45 mph, the tires bounced because of multiple defects within the tires. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that he should rotate or replace the tires to control the suspension. The manufacturer had not been notified. The failure mileage was 26,000.

21 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

I have had so many problems with my car. The first problem began years ago with the low beam headlights. I have to replace the headlights for both right and left side about 5 to 6 times per year. This can get very expensive especially if I were to get a ticket. The second problem are the rear tires. I noticed about two years ago that the tires get worn out much quicker than the others, so I'm constantly rotating them. Just recently, it has become worse. Just this year, I have replaced tires twice and have noticed that I need another set of tires. Have taken the car to a mechanic, but can not find anything wrong with the rear-end. The last issue that just happened a few months ago is the passenger visor. It suddenly fell out of its socket and eventually was hanging by its wires. After trying to put the visor back into its socket a few times, it eventually broke off. Have not ordered another yet. Didn't realize how expensive they are.

22 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 01/05/2010

I own a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. I now have 50k on my vehicle and I am going on my third set of tires. The last set of tires I bought cost just under $900. 00. It has been back to the dealer three times with about five phone calls and every time they tell me that they know nothing about this problem and no one else has this problem. I have had it aligned but no changes were made because everything is within specs. Just had it back to the dealer to check suspension and again to find the same problem, but once again they said nothing is wrong. But yet I am wearing the insides off of my tires about every 20k. There has to be a fix for this but Hyundai tells me there is nothing wrong. This prob has to be known about because it is all over the internet.

He contacted the dealer and was told that they did not put the decals on the vehicle and had no knowledge how to update them. The manufacturer was also unable to assist the contact on how to correct the decal. The vehicle also hydroplaned while driving the vehicle in the rain which caused him to be concerned about the tires. The tires were bridgestone dueler h/t tires size p235/60/r18. The dot code was unavailable. The current mileage was approximately 3,400. The failure mileage was approximately 300.

25 Tire problem of the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/28/2009

My 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe had a slow leak while on the highway and I always carried a can of fix a flat. I then proceeded tp a tire place to repair the tire but was told that because I used the fix a flat the tire could not be repaired. My complaint is that I have written to fix a flat to either confirm or deny this statement by the tire company, but so far I have not been contacted by anyone from fix a flat. Can you please confirm or deny this statement? the tire place told me that the dot has published a ruling to this effect, but I looked all over and can't find anything on it.

26 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/21/2008

P235/60r18 on Hyundai Santa Fe less than 30,000 miles and we had to replace two tires due to uneven wear . . . . . . . . . . Now we receive a recall notice that tires are affected by incorrect tire pressure label. Do we have any recourse? we expected tires to last much longer on this car!!!!.

27 Tire problem of the 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 05/07/2008

The tires on our vehicle are failing. They are prospector brand tires, size 225 70 16; dot bf 5cf9cc 4404 (3 tires) and dot bf 5cf9cc 3604 (1 tire). In the 3 years we have owned these tires we have always had difficulty keeping them balanced. The tires have less than 20,000 miles on them, and have significant tread life remaining. Over the years we have had to rebalance them frequently (about 7 times, most recently less than 1000 miles ago). At the last balancing, the mechanic said that there were buldges appearing in the tires, indicating to him that the tires were experiencing multiple ply separations. Now, once again, the tires are shimmying almost uncontrollably at expressway speed; less so at speeds below 40 mph, but still shaking. Using the internet, I found that prospector tires had been recalled by their manufacturer, bf goodrich, once before. I called bf goodrich (at 1-877-788-8899) and was told they had absolutely no information on the prospector tires, other than that they were manufactured in the same plant that makes bf goodrich tires. The customer service representative checked several times with her supervisor, returning each time saying that bf goodrich had no responsibility at all relating to these tires or this issue. I believe these tires are unsafe to use and will be replacing them within a week.

28 Tire problem of the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/28/2008

The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. The vehicle has bridgestone/firestone tires. The contact stated that the vehicle drove roughly at 55 mph. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they stated that a tire was defective. The dealer rotated the tires and stated that they had to order a new tire. A new tire was installed on March 15, 2009, but the vehicle was still shaking when in motion. The dealer test drove the vehicle and confirmed the failure. The contact was put in touch with a district manager and given a case number, but the district manager did not assist. Bridgestone referred the contact to a store in syracuse, NY and was informed that the tires were out of alignment. It would cost $194. 36 to balance the wheels. Both rear wheels were out of balance. On March 28, 2009, the contact added undercoating, which the dealer stated may have caused harmonic vibrations. The tire information was unknown. The current mileage was 1,100 and failure mileage was 19.

29 Tire problem of the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 04/20/2008

The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. The vehicle has bridgestone dueler a/t 693 tires, size lt225/75r16. Within one month of purchasing the vehicle, the contact experienced failures with both driver's side tires. The failures occurred while driving 45 mph or less. The dealer found a defect in the front tire where the steel belts had begun to unravel; however, they would not replace the front tire due to the nature of the failure and because it was not covered under warranty. The rear tire was plugged because there was a hole in the tire. Firestone confirmed that there was a defect with the tire, but the contact would be liable for the estimated $130 repair cost. The rear tire was replaced with the same brand, but a different model (turanza). He received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number (04t018000 tires:tread/belt) stating that the original tires on the vehicle were being recalled due to incorrect weight requirements. The manufacturer stated that the recall would not apply to him because the contact already purchased the tires from firestone. The dot number was unknown. The failure mileage was 1,500 and current mileage was 59,000.

30 Tire problem of the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Failure Date: 03/28/2008

Please conduct an investigation into numerous complaints regarding premature tire wear, suspension and steering in 2007 Santa Fe. I think they are connected and affect each otherby poor design or manufacturing process. Purchased as new vehicle in 12/2007. Noticed wobble in steering wheel a different speeds, conditions at 3k miles. Dealer found nothing wrong. Noticed rattle and klunking noise in left front when driving on uneven pavement at 12k miles. No dealer or mechanic could diagnose anything wrong. Replaced all 4 tires at 26k because front right tire worn to belt on inside. All wheels aligned at same time. Still had wobble, vibration at different speeds, accelerating, coasting, etc. Numerous balancing and rotations. Mechanic could not find anything wrong. At 31k, replaced sway bars and links, had wheels bearings serviced. Still wobbling, rattle in front end and uneven steering. At 32k, had wheel bearings repacked, another front end alignment, and all wheels, tires recalibrated to Hyundai specifications. Vehicle drove perfectly. . . For 3 days. All rattles, noises, wobbles, uneven steering problems returned. Going back to dealer 3rd time in 1 month. Rattle and wobble gets worse everyday. Don't feel safe driving this vehicle. I drive 15 miles to and from work on small expressway in austin, TX. No off roading, no pulling any trailers. Only hail damage to exterior. No front end collisions, engine problems or suspension damage before these problems were noticed. (small collision at 30,500k. I was at stop, driver in back rear-ended me at 5mph. My front end tapped car in front of me. Dealer body shop replaced front bumper "shock absorbers. No damage to frame or suspension. Is this a subframe problem, axle assembly issue or what? lots of comments/complaints on internet regarding problems like this. Again, I do not feel safe driving this car any further than to and from work. Cannot afford to trade in, buy different vehicle. .

No prior warnings or conditions existed prior to failure. The vehicle would not start and it was diagnosed by a fellow coworker to be the fuel pump. Aaa was called to tow the vehicle , and upon arrival, put car in neutral to back it up in order to tow. Immediately, the front driver tire when flat, and it was a result of the front strut assembly breaking and causing the coil spring to snap and pierce the front tire. It has been 6 days , and I was still without the vehicle which was only 3 1/2 years old with 65,000 miles. I was told that nothing was covered by warranty and replacement parts were not available.
