We were driving on a highway at normal highway speeds around 10:15pm. There was some light rain and some lightning in the area. Out of nowhere our panoramic sunroof on our 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe just exploded. There were no cars/trucks in front of us that kicked up any debris that could have caused this. It just shattered and the sound was deafening, it sounded like an explosion and for a quick second I thought we were getting shot at until I observed that no other glass in the car was broken so at that point I knew it was the panoramic sunroof.

In July 2021 while driving from TX to wa due to a military pcs with our brand new SUV a small rock or pebble hit the windshield on the passengers side. I called progressive/ safelite right away to have them fix it upon arriving in wa. It was good to go until a few days later I climb into my SUV (which is sitting under a car port) and see that the chip has ran through all the way to the other side of the drivers view. From July 2021 it took till Jan 2022 to get a replacement. Had to pay the $500 deductible. However this should not happen on a brand new 2021 Santa Fe that was just manufactured in may/June 2021. More and more I am seeing reports of windshields cracking and I need to have piece of mind that our concerns are heard and fixed to our satisfaction.

Driving around 25 miles per hour small pebble hit the top part of the windshield cracking it instantly and creating a rupture line from top to bottom of the windshield. Windshield glass seems very unsafe to sustain any kind of stress. It looks like other Hyundai models are showing the same problems with these windshield.
Our windshield started cracking for no reason while driving. Only had this car forv a month and less than 1000 miles. Nothing hit it. This is ridculous being a brand new vehicle.
Was just washing the car in my driveway and as I sprayed the windshield to first rinse the pollen off, the windshield cracked from bottom to top. No evidence of any chips or cracks prior to that.

On the night of 01/13/2021 I left my SUV parked outside for the first time in 25 decree weather . The next morning at 5am I started my car by remote start to get the ice off the windows . I then drove to work and parked my SUV. When I went to leave at 3pm the rear window was shattering you could even hear it cracking all over it it blew a hole in it ! there was not o piece of the rear window that was not shattered . My SUV was parked with the rear window facing the sun. My SUV has always been kept in my heated garage at night unt the night in question ! I do not know if the heat from the sun caused this to happen do to the window being so cold! but I do know it was parked in a private parking lot with nothing around it ! I would appreciate any input on this matter! thanks.

Front windshield has developed numerous pin-head size star shaped cracks that mostly can be seen when car is pointed toward the sun. This happened all of a sudden. I tried to photo but I can not get a good picture. This did not happen while driving.

Recently brought up a Hyundai sante fe 2. 0t and now shortly after purchasing the rear view/back camera no longer works. Just a black screen when put into reverse. I see it's a extremely common problem post on forums all over the web. It's not a necessity but could be hazardous given the moment it decides to quit.

While driving at 7:30pm on a back road on a Saturday, both of my headlights went out at the same time. I pulled onto a dirt driveway and turned my car off and noticed they came back on. I had to have it towed back home and took it to the dealership on Monday. They replaced a fuse box, and I picked my car up. About a week and a half later, it happened again while I was driving at night. In addition this time, my seat warmers would come on for about 30 seconds, and then shut off. I took it back up to the same dealership where I bought it. They had it for 2 weeks. They just replaced the fuse and drove it over 20 miles trying to get it to go out again and couldn't. I picked my car back up. A day and a half later, both my headlights went out again during the middle of the day. I noticed this because it was raining and I couldn't get my wipers to work. I kept trying my wipers, and the only setting they would work on was the 3rd speed setting. I tried my lights and my seat warmers again, and no luck. I immediately took it back to the dealership, and they said their service department was closed already (3:00pm) and they couldn't do anything until Monday, so I drove it home. Took it back up there on Monday, explained that this was the 3rd time this has happened, and it needs to be fixed because it's a major safety hazard. They had it for a week or so and called me and said they replaced the fuse once again, and drove it over 215 miles and couldn't get the car to duplicate the issue. They said my car had them stumped. They told me they were confident it was going to be okay. I left, and less than 24 hours after I got the car, I was driving at 7:00pm and they went out again, this time an hour away from my house. I don't know what to do because this is a scary issue, and they can't seem to find the problem and fix it.
While driving my new 2019 Santa Fe I noticed the first time it rained I had severe reduced visibility in the left portion of the windshield where the wipers don't reach. The rain pools there and does not get any better than pictured. This is a safety issue as you can not see out of 15% of the windshield and could cause an accident.
The headlghts on low beam block out the top 1/3 of the headlight beam and 2/3 of the headlight beam when the car is going down hill. This eyebrow effect is not showing when the high beams are on. In addition when the low beams are in use, the myvision on both sides of the car is blocked out. This seems to be a common complaint which Hyundai will not address claming there is no fix since the lights are performing as designed. At this point in time they do not offer a remady. This eyebrow effect appears when the car is stationary or in motion but only on the low beams.

My 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe sport has a panoramic sunroof that exploded on October 9th 2018 while I was driving (pictures attached). I had just left work less than one minute down the road when I heard crackling noise followed by a loud explosion and then sounds of a lot of chattering hitting the shade, followed by wind and outside noise (like I opened a window). When it was safe to pull over to check what had happened. I found the front glass of the sunroof exploded up and out! I had the shade closed so the glass didn't get in the vehicle. I immediately took pictures and called the dealership I bought the vehicle that was able to take the vehicle in later that same day and would have to leave it overnight. I received a call from their service dept. The next day telling me that Hyundai would not cover the sunroof! I had never heard of this happening to a panoramic roof before. So, I did some research online to find this has happened numerous times and Hyundai knows of the issue. If this is a known issue, I do not understand why Hyundai would not cover the repair? why there is not a recall or warning that this can happen?.
The panoramic sunroof exploded while driving on the freeway without cause.
While driving on the highway the driver side visor fell out of the ceiling as if the wires were cut in half in the hole that held the visor in place. I did not have an accident due to the sudden event but I have barely been able to see while driving early in the mornings or late in the evenings when the sun is low in the sky and shining directly through the window.

I actually have two separate problems with my Hyundai. 1)my car lurches when I step on the gas if I've had to slow down or stop. I was crossing railroad tracks behind someone who slowed way down. They finally got over the tracks and sped back up, I also stepped on the gas to go just as the rr crossing arms started to flash & come down, there was a train coming. My car hesitated and lurched which gave me a bit of a fright, since there was a train coming three blocks away. I made it across the tracks with time to spare, but have also had this happen when I was pulling into traffic. When you pull out in traffic at a busy intersection, to have your car lurch & pause is a bit unnerving & makes me look like a jerk driver to pull out to then only pause & go. 2)the windshield wipers. We had gotten 5 to 6 inches of heavy wet snow. I took my little sweeper & swept off all of the windshield around the wipers, side windows & back window. I got back in the car and turned the wipers on to clean the windshield more clearly, this knocked some snow down where the wiper rests & the wipers wouldn't move. It's as though they couldn't go down and reset themselves, so they wouldn't come back up. I got out & cleaned around the base of the windshield again. There was some snow on top of my car when I left my home that I was too short to reach. Stopping at the stop light caused some of the snow to fall forward on my windshield. I turned the wipers on and they pushed most of it off, but when they couldn't go all the way back down they were unable to swipe again. They kept trying but they didn't go all the way down to reset they were stuck. Since there was still snow blocking my vision, I got out at stoplight & swept snow off my windshield & base of wipers. Light was now green so I quickly jumped in to go, my car lurched (see #1) & more snow fell forward. Same scenario, vision blocked.

Sunroof exploded while driving. . . . . . We were driving on a four lane highway on a cloudy afternoon. Temp was 47 degrees and traveling at 65 mph on a straight stretch. The closest car in front of us was 1/2 mile. All of a sudden a loud shotgun like sound and glass everywhere. The front section of our panoramic sunroof exploded. My wife was in the front passenger seat and my 19 month old was in the back seat. Glass was on all of us.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving about 55 mph, the visor broke and fell off. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 101,000. Fe.
Sun roof exploded. No apparent reason. Stationary parked.

Paint comes off the car in large pieces that, if raining, will stick to windshield of the car and the car behind you, while driving. This blocks the visibility out of the front of the windshield and causes wiper problems as the large pieces get stuck to them. Again this will happen while driving in the rain. The large piece of paint will still come off during normal driving, but the safety concern is while driving in the rain. Pieces as large as 1 inch by 1 inch are not uncommon, with the largest piece currently missing is about 8 inches by 8 inches. Problem started happening over 2 years ago. When the pieces get stuck to the windshield, you have to pull over to remove them from both the windshield and wiper blades. This is also dangerous as we have had to pull over on a major freeway before to remove them from parts of the vehicle, namely the windshield and wipers. This problem again causes problems with visibility out of the front of the windshield of the car and possibly the car(s) behind you while driving in the rain. I don't believe that large pieces (sheets) of paint should be coming off of a car and sticking to a windshield of the affected car and cars around it, while driving in the rain. Truly this is a safety issue.
I was driving my car, between 20-25 mph, less than half a mile from my destination and I heard this very loud bang. It scared me, I thought it was a gun shot. I pulled over and something told me to slide my sunroof cover back, that's when I saw that my sunroof had shattered. There was nothing around to hit it, no cars, overpasses rocks, nothing. I got out and looked at the top and all of the glass was bowed upwards. It came from the inside, it exploded. I'd never heard of such. It was about 47 degrees when this happend. Now I'm soon to be out over 600 dollars in repairs for something at no fault of my own.
On three occasions now, I have nearly hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk, because I did not see that pedestrian. All three were hidden from my view by a combination of the driver side mirror and the frame of the car on the left side of the windshield. Together, the placement of these two features creates a surprisingly large blind spot. I think it is partly related to the fact that the seats in the car also cannot be raised enough; I have good front visibility, but if I could get higher I do think the mirror might be less of an obstacle. Each time this has happened, I learn a new type of situation in which I must not trust what I see, but I worry about unanticipated situations in the future.
A. Wiper heaters, as listed on the window invoice are non-existant. I had several freeze-ups last winter causing me to stop the car and clear the blades manually, even though the front defrost button was depressed. Dealer said it was operating as it should. (?? - I disagree) b. During the summer I was getting moisture on the inside of the windshield and front side windows. I discovered a sopping wet front passenger floor which the dealer attributed to spiderwebs in the a/c condenser discharge tube which they "cleaned" for non warranty $69 price-point . Water appeared on cabin firewall / console yesterday, as 'defrost /blade deicer' activates a/c; and a circle of events begins again. The problem requires defrost to function which causes more moisture and the wipers still do not heat up (the windshield under the blades seems to get warm but not enough to keep snow/ice from the excessive build-up and it's restricting air intake at the ports under the rear edge of the hood). Visibility is problem-matic in this car's malfunction and design. This 2016 santafe sport is one year old last week.

Driver's side sun visor broke from its socket while driving on the highway. The visor hung by the wire for the light. This is a well known defect. It is dangerous and should be addressed by the manufacturer. I was able to jury rig it back - very simple and easy; however their neglect of this is dangerous.
