Takata recall it started like 3 weeks ago sounds like the motor is knocking. Then a week ago my airbag like wont go off.
My engine light is not working. Does not light up when vehicle is turned on.
Interior dome light stays illuminated when vehicle is running and doors are closed. In order to have the interior dome lights not illuminated, dome light switch has to be kept in the off position.
Tail lamp assembly melted at bulb insertion area, frequently needs bulb replacement. Has become a nuisance and hazard.
Head lights go out when directional is touched, front end bottom out going over dips in roadway, steering has lots of play when turning wheel left and right.
Back lights always going out not working during braking, air bag light won't go off, fuel gauge doesn't work, noted rattling noise under the front end, always having to replace tires.
The drivers side rear light bulbs keep on going out. Have changed them about ten times in one year! I cannot change them anymore as the plastic casing has morphed by the heat of the fuse connector to the bulb! there are two bulbs rolling in the casing as they came off when trying to extract and replace. Also I have never had any lights illuminate on my dashboard, even when my engine was knocking due to shavings in engine (that was replaced, thank you). Lastly, had to replace my shocks and struts this year and was told by mechanic at big o tire that they contacted Hyundai directly as they ran into an issue with replacing what should have been correct struts. They were told this particular car with associated VIN has the goofy struts!!! I'm sorry but I didn't pay a goofy price for the car!.
My front end and break lights continue to go out. No matter how many times I purchased. Had accident. Vehicles I see in my town, with the same year and model have same issues. Lights consistently blow out.
I've been replacing the light bulbs in my vehicle every few weeks. . . I'm constantly being pulled by the police for having a blower light. Also, my lights flicker on and off. . The lights in the dashboard as well as the lights outside of the vehicle. My gas meter doesn't display the correct amounts of gas it might say 309 until empty then it will say 62 until empty five seconds later and it continuously changes.
The horn is a safety feature and it doesn't work all the time. More times not than working properly. Living in atlanta this is a serious issue.
Break lights need to be replaced more and more frequently over the course of 6-8 months. Recently they need replaced just weeks apart. Usually both go out at the same time, but not always. Both sockets are now burnt out. New bulbs don't work in either socket, and both sockets appear to be blackened/slightly melted and plastic around the socket easily cracks. Each time they went out, the issue was brought to my attention after being pulled over, in or around the city, and kindly informed by an officer.
On 10/24/2017, I took my car to the dealership regarding some recall issues, amongst which was the issue of the car making clicking noise as the car turns. After the car was delivered to me, and driving it, I noticed that the issue was unresolved. I made this known to the dealership and there was no response from them. I did report this to Hyundai USA. It's been several months now,but have not heard from them regarding the complaints. I have been notified of other recall issues since then, but not sure how to go about them, as the first issue remains unresolved.
Takata recall my head lights flicker and go out when every I use my blinkers to make a turn. If my head lights are on and I don't use my blinkers when I turn I don't have a problem. I happens mostly when I use the left blinker. Also, the lights on the dash flicker at the same time.
Airbag light wont shut off. No collision involved.
I was picking up my stepdaughter up and she shut the door, so I started to drive and my dome light stayed on then it started flickering. I was on a city street driving. It has happened multiple times so I just keep it off now.
The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the stop lamp on the vehicle melted into the lighting structure, which caused the brake lamp not to illuminate when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tail lamp assembly needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the tail lamp assembly was replaced on three separate occasions; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Rear light casing is melting and the bulbs are blowing every few weeks. I was told that this is a safety hazard and my vehicle could potentially light on fire while I'm driving. I have a full warranty, and they are saying this is not covered.
The break light keep goin out pluz keep smelling a burning smell.
My inside lights seem to have some sort of defect. They have stopped working several times and I have to take the covers off and move the bulb around to get it to work.
#1today 9/18/2016 while I was driving down the road my airbag light came on. When I made my first stop the light when off. When I began to drive again the light came on and will not go off. #2 I had to pay over three hundred dollars to have my sterling coupler replaced it started with a little clicking noise when I turn to the right and afterwards began to progress and get louder. While driving the car the steering wheel will shake and vibrate until it felt as if the steering wheel will shake a lose. #3 the lights on my car will flicker on and off while driving it's very obvious at night it is a scary situation. One night they flicker and didn't want to come back on right away until I had to pull over on the side of the road until they came back on. I called my Hyundai dealer and was told that it will be an 118 service charged to look at it because my warranty is up. I then contacted Hyundai USA when they finally contacted me back they pretty much told me the same thing the Hyundai dealer said. The problem with my lights began in 2012 but every time it took the car in the problem could not be detected so they would say and this was when I was under my warranty.
During my annual nys inspection, a bulb in my left driver side taillight was out. Mechanic (who is the only one besides Hyundai that touches my car) was perplexed. Asked if I tried to replace the bulb. Said no. Said it looked like someone tried to pull out the entire taillight assembly (lenses and all. ) I park in pretty safe areas and in an underground garage at home. He had to epoxy the assembly so it wouldn't fall out. Knows my car intimately. Today, while having it washed, I saw the workers pointing to the passenger rear taillight assembly. It had popped out just like the other one. I duct taped it best I can. Owned several cars but have never had any taillights threaten to fall off. Mechanic said it could easily fall off if I hit a bump. Very strange!.
Air bag light is on indicating something is wrong, this is a safety issue not an wear and tear problem. I have replace several bulbs in my vehicle each year for five years. Every bulb that I have went out indicating a electrical problem.
When I place my car in park the car is,telling me to shift to park but I'm already in park. My car will turn off but my navigation screen stays on. Also the engine push to start/stop light won't turn off. In addition I am unable to use my favorite to lock the doors because it thinks my keys are still in the vehicle so I have to manually lock it. The car seems to stall occasionally and I have to gas it to pick up speeds and I've only had the car for two months.
Purchased car on 3/8/2016, the car made noises while turning. Both shaft assembly replaced, parts $749. 70, labor $150. 00. Our daughter was given the car on 3/12/2016, on 3/16/2016 while driving the eps light illuminated, power steering was loss. Hyundai dealership diagnosed and replaced steering column and column assembly, cost $1701. 18. The passenger airbag has come out on two occasions. The dealership in charlottesville, va pushed it back in. On 6/11/2016, passenger airbag came out while driving. (husband pushed it back in, however, I don't feel our daughter and her passengers are safe). On 6/11/2016, while trying to drive the car, put the gear into d and the car moved backwards. Turn the car off and shifted into d(it worked). This according to our daughter, this has occurred on several occasions. Interior lighting has to be manually manipulated to turn them off.
"takata recall" I was driving on the interstate the other day and my car was shaking, so scary. I'm not a mechanic, but I know when something is wrong. The lights on my car gets so hot that they keep going out and the car is a drifter. I just happen to enter my VIN# in the system and I was shock. I have been driving this car not knowing my car has 4 recalls on it. I would like to get another car because at this point I do not feel safe driving my family even if they serviced it. Just hearing all the problems that wrong with this car, I do not feel safe. Who do I need to talk to about this matter?.
I have replaced all my external lights bulbs two times since I've had the car, with the last time about 6 months ago. I keep on having intermittent external lights go out, then come back on. In general, when they temporarily go off its just the beginning of the end. They tend to permanently burn out. I always have replaced all light bulbs when the first one goes out, because the rest usually start going out. I have twice replaced all the bulbs at the same time, but keeping having issues. Also, my rear drivers side light assembly was hanging off the car by the wire harness. Somehow the plastic part broke that keeps it attached to the frame of the car.
Cant get light to work, have replace bulbs a few times, and have take it to an advance auto place where they have told me it's a problem with the electric work and engine not the bulb. The bulbs were fine and not burnt out. Have been having issues since last October 1st was only one head light now as of this weekend its both.
There are open factory recalls on this car and I have not received a letter to fix the deficiencies before it gets to become an issue of potential physical harm on the roadway. Driving down the road the front spring just broke a section off about a foot long, now drives dangerously brakes, transmission, engine, head lamps, suspension.
Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the steering wheel was loose and an abnormal noise was coming from it. In addition, the driver side rear light out and was hanging from the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000. Ak.
Have replaced break lights 5 times due to someome telling me they were out. Was stop by a cop today because both break lights he said we're out. Why are these lights burning out so fast? automotive guy said put some grease on bulb then place them in. I did and they still went out?.
While I was driving, at about 40 mph, another driver flag me down and asked me to check my taillight. I parked my car on the side, and I noticed that the whole taillight had fallen off the car. It was just hanging from the wires. Upon inspection I noticed that the plastic studs holding the taillight had broken off. Lots of small plastic pieces all over. Glad I wasn't on the freeway, because it would had caused an accident if it would had fallen off the car. The taillight shows no signs of any impact at all it is clean.
Left and right taillight assemblies falling out of taillight housing/car body. Metal taillight bolts no longer secured in plastic taillight assembly. Plastic taillight housing "crumbling" where taillight bolts are affixed into housing.
Driving on the highway at 70 mph, the complete left rear taillight fell off and out of the vehicle, dangling only by the light bulb wiring harness. Another driver had to flag down my wife down to get her attention that the light had fallen out. All 4 bolt housing pieces had crumble apart internally causing this.
I was driving down a road which is only 25 mph in my parents neighborhood when I turned around to head back once I got out the car I noticed that my drivers side taillight was hanging out by the wires. There was no damage to the taillight or on the car, the inside plastic pieces where it is mounted to the car were broken. Going to try calling Hyundai tomorrow as it just happened tonight. But after reading all the other complaints it sounds as though they will do nothing. This is a safety concern.
I have experienced several issues related to the Sonata within the last several months starting in December, 2013. * several of the service indicators have lighted up on the dashboard that have never behaved this way before. * doors will not lock unless I have my key in the ignition and the engine turned on. Remote switch does not function at all. * the front low-beam lights do not function. * the clock on the dashboard does not function. * internal dome lights do not function at all on any switch. * the esc light is malfunctioning is appears. Comes on for no reason and stays on. * several times it has been hard to get the car into "d" drive and then to get out of "d" and back into park. * engine makes weird noises, roaring, and clinking that it has never made before. * overall I am happy with this vehicle up until these issues happened and they seem to all happen at this particular time. Within the last three months.
