Takata recall, my vehicle was in motion when my airbag warning light came on 3 week ago while driving on city street and have not come off since then. I have also looked at the car history and have noticed 14 recalls on this vehicle including the airbags. While in motion, my doors unlock by themselves. Lastly, the transmission shift gear sometimes disappear from the dashboard as well as the shift gear which in most case the car wouldnt start or jerks when it disappear while in motion.
The airbags have been disabled for an unknown reason. The warning light will not turn off. The car has not been involved in an accident. This began in approximately of June 2019 and the car had approximately 110,000 miles. Another issue is the seat belt locking mechanism does not latch properly to secure the seat belt. It usually requires multiple efforts to be secured. Additionally, the seat belt does not retract properly either. That also takes several efforts to get it retracted. This began when the car had approximately 32,000 miles on it. I had an extended warranty on the vehicle and due to personal circumstances, was unable to bring it to the dealer until the car had approximately 37,000 miles. The dealer refused to address the issue under the warranty. The first issue occurs when the car is started and the airbag light stays on until the car is turned off. The seat belt issue occurs when putting the seat belt on and taking it off.

I received a recall notice from Hyundai that there was a problem with the airbag being in danger of "electrical overstress" causing operation failure. The letter said they were working on a fix. Prior to receiving the letter for the fix, my airbag warning light came on while I was driving. I called mike brown Hyundai (granbury, TX) and they said they could do the warranty work. I took my car in and they said they did the recall work. However my airbag warning light is still on. I feel that my airbag overheated prior the recall work that is supposed to prevent it. The dealer wanted to charge me for a diagnosis and Hyundai consumer affairs would not offer assistance. I believe my airbag system has a catastrophic failure and is unsafe.
Airbag warning light stays on.
Hyundai recall / Sonata 2011 June 2018 : no remedy has still be announced , am still on "stand by" for a " possible remedy". Was recommended to continue my safety recalled car by Hyundai consumer affairs , by brandon r. In huntington beach. And also andrew in corporate. After patiently waiting and requesting a loaner vehicle and manufactures refund, ive been directed to corporate to wait for this . We cannot just walk into a dealership and request a loaner vehicle. After waiting 2 months still no remedy, I am legally obligated to a refund or replacement which has still not implemented. After emailing the director of Hyundais manufactures, jim trainor says he will try and help me due to the severity of my situation and relaying multiple reports of my model catching fire (non-collision) after denying my request for a refund and/or replacement in result of a loaner vehicle since no remedy has been found long after the notice described one by April 2018. This can simply be resolved if matters were taken seriously as we are told. . The manufactuers get away with too much. Instead of being greedy. . My vehicle will be in stationary and have a airbag warning light on. Electrical safety and airbag saftey make this vehicle unfit to drive. I am demanding a refund and replacement .

Complaint in regards to NHTSA recall number 18v137000 Hyundai has failed to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner. Campaign 174 is dated Feb. 27, 2018. I called Hyundai recall hotline at 855-371-9460 on may 2, 2018. I requested a rental car until remedy is provided. I was told nothing can be done, and I should contact my local dealership. Local dealership said they have no information or remedy and told me to call the hotline. Dealership said if I wanted a rental car, I could rent one myself, as nothing would be provided for me. Recall remains incomplete as of June 29, 2018. This recall is a serious safety concern and places myself and my family at a great risk of injury or death. Hyundai has acted in bad faith by providing no remedy or solution to my requests over this matter in a timely fashion. While there are no airbag warning lights active on my vehicle, you won't know the airbags and seat belts properly function until you crash. That's unacceptable. I have a case number from my initial contact with Hyundai regarding my concerns over the vehicle. Case # 11225055. Honda provided free rental cars for their airbag recalls. How can Hyundai sit idle and offer nothing? I am requesting NHTSA to please pursue this complaint to help expedite a remedy from Hyundai for this recall.
Driver-side air bag light is illuminated at all times showing that there is a problem, but no solution presented. No matter what we do, the warning light is engaged. Concerned that the airbag system will not work properly in accident, or that the airbag may deploy while driving.
I had a warning light turned on my display and when taken to the dealership, they charged me 240$ for the repair. Now I see that the part they replaced was on the recall campaign which started 4 months prior to my servicing. Are they supposed to charge for the parts which are in the recall?.
Airbag warning on dashboard, steering wheel components such as volume, cruise control, reset mileage and the rest of the tabs do not function on the steering wheel, rear left side brake light bulb has to be replaced every four months, front right side/driver's side head light bulb wont' come on after replacing the light bulb, inside the cab the above night/passenger and rear guest lights won't come on, after an overall tune up such as oil, filters, liquids and plugs the engine warning light comes on for two days/48 hours. The vehicle engine starts and runs normal every day. The problem is more electrical by the above information. The local Hyundai dealership would like for us to take the vehicle in to check for the problem. About a year ago or less we had a vehicle recall on two specific items. After taking our vehicle to the dealership to see about the two recalls. One of the recalls was looked into and fixed. The second recall was never fixed and the car engine was running in the worst manner, the engine would run and stall, at a stop light while the engine was running, the engine would misfire. We were at the dealership and they wanted us to leave our vehicle so that it could be checked by their technicians while in the process we were told that we were responsible for the problem or vehicle misfiring/stalling of the engine. We called the 888-327-4236 for assistance and our problem was solved. By having your group contacting the dealership and having our second vehicle recall fixed and solved. That's the main reason for not going back to the dealership, apparently they are the only ones in town. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. If we have to go back to the dealership, we'd go back but only with your assistance. Thank you. Email ccalvillo3@hotmail. Com or cell 915-472-5131.

Now it has come on and will not go off. It has been on for about a month. I called the dealership and they informed me that it was not under warranty. Airbag warning light remained on after starting the vehicle recently. Vehicle was diagnosed on August 31, 2015 by local Hyundai dealership (where purchased) . Results of diagnosis stated on service description "code in acu for OCS module. Recommend replacement of passenger seat bottom". It was stated that with the airbag light on ,the service department could not guarantee airbag would work. So we immediately ordered recommended airbag parts. ( front passenger seat bottom) at a major cost of $1,246. And labor cost of $165. Parts came in and were installed on September 9,2015. Airbag light is off . This safety system needs to be investigated for root cause and corrective actions. With only 81,319 miles , this falls way short of long term performance. . With safety of my family at stake with this issue I had no other choice but to get this issue fixed . Plus it would not pass state inspection. Last I have seen several other reports of airbag lights on for Hyundai Sonata 201, same problem.
