22 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

Both brake taillights bulbs keeps burning out this is an ongoing issue, it happened four times for me this year 8/1/2018, and three times last year 2017. Every time it happens I change the bulbs with the manufacture standard ones but fails again and again, I have done some google research and find forums of complaints regarding this brake light problem. Its becoming a safety issue because the tail lights sockets are overheating causing the buld to melt and stick into the tail lights socket, I notice the same problem when I change my bulb earlier this year. There's a lot of Hyundai owners complaining about this issue it needs to be fix before someone's car catch on fire.

23 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

Tail lights and brake lights constantly burn out. This issue has been going on for over 4 years for me and according to complaints online, it's been an issue as far back as 2010 for Sonatas. The bulbs are burning out too quickly and I am afraid that it may lead to a fire. I should not have to continue buying replacement bulbs or paying fees to fix this problem which Hyundai is responsible for.

25 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

I have been having an ongoing issue on my 2013 Hyundai Sonata limited. If you just look at 2011+ Hyundai Sonata's on the road while driving 90% of them have a tail light out! the issue is the tail light assembly where the bulb clips in is melted so the bulb will not stay in place. The bulb is constantly moving around while driving so it comes lose or blows over and over. The only proper fix for this is to change the whole tail light so I believe Hyundai needs to do something about this as if your tail lights are out you can easily meet in an accident. I have changed my bulb at least 6 times for far and I have only had the car for 6 months, its a 2013 Hyundai Sonata limited 2. 4 non turbo na. I searched several forums online and others have reported this issue or spend $300 to fix one or $00 for both. This a manufacturer defect the tail light should not be melting.

26 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2018

Rear tail light out. Unable to change bulb as it has melted to assembly apparatus. Bulb appears black. Research online revealed a multitude of owners having electrical issues relating to tail lights; requires frequent bulb replacement. Risk of bulb bursting/fire hazard is present.

27 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2018

For the last year I have been replacing light bulbs for my tail light and the bulb keep blowing out or busing in the tail light. I took it to Hyundai and they told me it was the wiring harness and in 2011-2015 Hyundai Sonata they have a shortage in them. I think they need to recall and this problem need to be fix as soon as possible.

28 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2017

Months ago I had a burned out tail light and thought it was the passenger side - the housing would not disengage from the tail light - turned out it was the left one, so didn't follow up. The right bulb burned out apparently today - took 30 minutes to loosen the housing to find a blackened bulb(always like that) and the bulb melted into the housing. The bulb base was adhered to the housing and the housing cracked and will not hold a bulb. Taking to dealership for hopeful warranty replacements. All lights on this car and my 2006 have to be replaced every six months or so - this is a known ongoing problem with Sonatas that Hyundai has never addressed. My left front low beam nearly explodied when I replaced itand it was too hot to even touch and is now dim - there is something seriously wrong with the lighting wiring in these cars and as they are a safety issue, an investigation and recall is appropriate. Work on these oarts is too expensive and given even the small number of complaints on this site - it is clear there's an issue - since the year model is relatively new, perhaps many have been repaired under the 50,000 mile warranty. I am taking my 60000 ,mileage car to werner Hyundai in tallahassee and fully expect repair of both tail lights under the 10 year warranty.

29 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the tail light bulb lights failed and were replaced several times. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown.

30 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2017

Both tail light assemblies partially melted from the brake light bulb overheating. The brake light bulb itself was melted and fused into the socket housing it. The socket was blackened from overheating. It was the same problem on the left and right tail light assembly. I replaced both tail light assemblies since the plastic was partially melted and became deformed. The issue was likely an ongoing problem while the car was parked and in motion. There may be an electrical wiring problem as the underlying cause.

31 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2017

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the tail lights failed. The vehicle was taken to blossom Chevrolet (located at 1800 n shadeland Ave, indianapolis in, 46219) where it was diagnosed that the tail lights burst and melted the wiring harness. The tail lights were replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

32 Tail Light Switch problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2017

I have to change tail lights every month. Now a new assembly is required because the blown bulb has melted it. This is very unsafe and I'm trying to avoid tickets and court if possible. Also there's a shortage in the wiring.
