Fuel Injector Problems of Hyundai Sonata

The contact owns a 2021 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while pulling out of a parking lot, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended and started shaking abnormally. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that all four fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed with fuel injector failure. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the contact turned off the vehicle. The contact restarted the vehicle after several minutes and the vehicle started working properly. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with fuel consumption failure. The vehicle was repaired for the most recent failure. The contact then stated that the check engine warning light illuminated on and off a third time. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,395.

My vehicle had a recall on it in 2004 for the fuel system, gasoline storage and fuel system, gasoline: storage: tank assembly. According to the home office the valve fix was installed on my vehicle in 2005, I have no record of the installation. In 2011 my vehicle broke down and I had it towed to a shop. It turned out to be the fuel pump, so I had it replaced with a new fuel pump I purchased at an auto supply shop. After the installation of the new fuel pump my vehicle would hesitate to start, the gas was taking to long to get to the injectors. After researching I found out about the recall not remembering anything about it or having a valve installed. My question is on such an important recall why isn't there notice at the auto supply stores on vehicles and parts on recall. A raised flag if you will, so when I (someone) go to purchase the new fuel pump a notice would have come up about the recall. Now the hyundia corporation refuse to fix this very serious problem without cost to me. I think it is hyundia responsibility to get the word out in every avenue available out there about the recall. They knew the fuel pump was bound to fail one day and had to be replaced. Going back to the dealer (who was the only one who knew about the recall) is an option not the only option.

The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, she smelled a fuel odor but was unable to detect where it was coming from. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact that they would replace one of the fuel injectors which was causing a leak. The vehicle was repaired but the contact she would still smell gas fumes. The failure mileage was approximately 3,500.

Smelled a strong fuel smell inside the car; especially when cold starting; this is 3. 3l v6 engine. Took the car to the dealer and they could not find any problem. This was on and before 22 Sep 2009 with about 48,000 miles on the vehicle. Gas smell getting stronger and personal mechanic found right front fuel injector leaking, especially when cold. Also mileage has dropped about 10 mpg during long road trip. Mechanic recommends change of fuel injector o-ring seal(s) on the leaking injector and all others (5 more). I took the vehicle to the dealer for a warranty repair. Still waiting to see if they will repair the vehicle properly. This could be a serious safety/fire issue with raw fuel being sprayed on the hot engine.
