Headlights Turn Off While Driving Problems of Hyundai Sonata

My VIN is showing 2 recalls that are incomplete that I have taken to a local dealership to be corrected. My 2011 Hyundai burns oil very quickly within weeks of an oil change. I am constantly adding oil. There is no oil leak detected in the vehicle. I was assured that the engine recall was looked at and not affected but according to this site that recall is incomplete. I also have to replace tail and headlights and when I use a blinker at night the headlights turn off. I had my vehicle serviced at jenkins Hyundai of jacksonville FL 904/420-7171.

This is a major issue thousands are having with this model 2014 Sonata. When using the blinker, it causes the headlights to completely shut off while driving. Soon as the blinker turns off it kills the headlights. Extremely dangerous and Hyundai seems to be ignoring this issue and pretending they're not hearing of it often. I've had to pull over many times until the lights come back on. Seems to be an issue in the steering column. Cruise control also decides when it wants to work. Sometimes on startup it works, sometimes it doesn�t. I believe it has to do when the car is started. Something odd electrically with these cars. But the blinker/headlight issue is causing wrecks. This is wildly dangerous.

During normal driving with headlight setting on auto, headlights turn off when turn signal is activated. Headlights turn on when turn signal is off (either manually turned off or when turn is completed). This can happen while moving or stopped at light. Consistent problem with left turn, less often for right turn.

A shortage in the electrical system causing the headlights to go out, the brake lights to not come on and have the check engine light to come on, and the check tire pressure light to come on as well.

In the last few weeks my vehicle has started to have electrical issues related to the steering column. If I turn on my right turn signal, the headlights blink or just turn off. The radio will sometimes turn off as well. If I press any of the volume buttons on the steering wheel for the radio, the car thinks I'm trying to initiate voice commands to call someone. If I try to turn on my high beams, sometimes it works, other times the headlights turn off. All of these things happen whether the vehicle is stationary or moving on any type of road. The vehicle is designed so that if you leave the headlights on, remove the keys, and lock the vehicle, the headlights turn off. It still does this, but the lights will turn on again later and try to kill the battery.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the directional signal flickered on and off whenever the turn signal was activated. When the headlights are on at night, when turn signals are engaged intermittenly the cabin lighting, including the gage cluster lights flicker and sometimes completely turn off. When the auto function of the headlights is on the headlights often completely turn off along with the interior cabin lights and gauge cluster lights intermittently when the turn signals are engaged and also when they're not. The problem seems to mostly be linked to the use of turn signals, but does also happen when they're not used.

Car loses power when going into a turn and when driving long distance on open high way , sometimes it's like the car is applying breaks by it self , then just takes off like you have your foot full force on the gas puddle . Break lights and head lights go out every two months.

Put blinker on for right hand turn, made the turn, when the blinder stalk (which also contains headlight controls) returned to home position, the headlights went out, and the instrument panel indicated my lights had switched off. My light knob remained in auto, with the computer thought I turned them off. This was at night. I could not see when my lights turned off. It is very unsafe to be in motion and have your lights cut out!!! this problem happens frequently now, getting worse. It's obviously a bad connection within the blinker stalk, causing the light mode to change on its own when turning.

When driving at night with the lights on, when I turn the turn signal on, the headlights turn off, come back on, and flicker on and off, as well as the interior lights. This is an ongoing issue not something has happened just once. It's extremely dangerous as they may just go out completely and somebody could crash into the front of me or not see that I'm trying to turn there's also been numerous reports of this on blogs and such forth.

When making left turn signal, it triggered the headlight shut off along with interior lighting for the screens shutting off, all of the lighting went back on after a very short of period of time.

On October 27 2013, the dash board lights and the back illmunating lighs, glove compartment and over head lights went out, I took it to a car repair shop and they changed out the dimmer switch, wich kept burning out,smoke has come out of the dash board and it smelled life fire, I pulled over and called the dealer. This is a saftey issue I am not able to dirve the car at night and I am afraid the care might catch fire. After changing it out 4 times, the mechanic told us to take it to the dealer. We did take the car to the dealer and $700. 00 later they still dont know what the problem it, so I have filed a case with the corprate office, the car has had some electrical problems before, but it has been fixed becaue they have been reacalls. The dealer does not know what to do and they want us to take the car somewhere else. The dealr is no help, they suggested we just buy a new car!!!.
