Sept 11, 2011 visibility problem, defective glass in Hyundai Sonata 2012 reported defect in windshield and rear window to dealer day after purchased. The windshield has distortion, ripples in the glass when driver looks over through the passenger side of windshield or when the passenger looks at the road ahead. 4 Interior Rearview Mirror problem of the 2008 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 01/13/2011

I own a 2008 Hyundai Sonata. When I was getting in to my car, the sun visor on the driver side popped and broke about a year ago. Not only does it obstruct my view in the windshield but it also blocks a portion of my rear view mirror. I have had it replaced once before and it broke again about 2 months ago. The part is expensive, difficult to find, and even the dealers have to place a back order on the part. No matter what other options I try to use, they all fail so I am reluctant to try anything else at the risk of it falling, hitting me in the head, and causing me to have an accident.

5 Interior Rearview Mirror problem of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 06/27/2010

Windshield is defective in several areas of the windshield. View is distorted through these sections of the windshield, especially the lower 1/3 area and areas near the posts. People have complained of car sickness looking through the glass. The passenger seat is lower than the driver's seat and my wife has looked through the windshield and thought I was going to crash or at least go off the road. The dealer replaced the original but the replacement glass is worse. All the Sonata's on their lot are as bad or worse. It appears Hyundai's supplier of windshields is manufacturing distorted windshields. It appears all Sonata's are being manufactured with this distorted glass in the windshields. There is distortion looking out the rear glass through the rear view mirror but we can live with that.

6 Interior Rearview Mirror problem of the 2007 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 06/16/2010

2007 Hyundai Sonata driver side sun visor won't stay up or down. In up position hangs so low I can't see the car in front of me. In the down position it sticks out to where it all=most hits me in the forehead, but blocks the rear view mirror. Neither is safe. This is definitely a safety hazard. The only way to be able to see & drive is to hold the visor up with 1 hand. Driving with 1 hand is still a safety hazard in case of an emergency as well as exhausting on the arm!.

7 Interior Rearview Mirror problem of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 03/06/2008

I own a 2006 Hyundai Sonata and the sun visor has broken twice, which affects my view of the road. The visor is unable to stay up and out of view when not in use. I've read Hyundai online forums and it seems to be a recurring problems with a lot of this model as well as the 2007 model. I've had to slide out the visor extension and wedge it between by rearview mirror and roof of my car, which is not a safe option either as it can become unwedged during driving and fall down and block my view of the road. It hasn't caused an accident yet, but it's only a matter of time which terrifies me. Please help.

8 Interior Rearview Mirror problem of the 2005 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 05/20/2005

I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata, bought new. The front passenger seat moves forward and backward on acceleration and deceleration. It is more pronounced on braking. The seat slides about 4 inches forward with braking over 25 mph. I took it to ganley Hyundai on brookpark road in parma ohio for repairs. The service manager said it was fixed, but it still slides. If the manager says it is fixed, and it still moves, to me this means it is unrepairable. Another issue with the car is the rear view mirror blocks out entire cars from view. It is much too large for the size of the windshield.
