I was headed to pick up the kids to take them to practice, but when they went to open the trunk to put their sports gear in it, it was "stuck". It had worked the previous night so I was very confused. After several tries, we finally got it to open and shut. We then went to the park to kill time and I went to open the trunk again, it wouldn't open. We tried everything, and after 30 minutes, it decided to open. However, it then would not shut. We couldn't leave the park with it open so had to have help come and strap it closed. The kids missed their practices and I was alone in a parking lot with two kids until help could arrive.

Trunk latch will not release by using electronic release button on drivers side interior compartment, manual release button located on trunk, nor manually using key on trunk key slot.
My trunk latch malfunctioned and my trunk will no longer close. I brought my vehicle to the Hyundai dealership and they advised me the latch has indeed failed there was nothing they could do to fix it, as the recall is still marked "incomplete" and they have no parts to fix the trunk latch. I am unable to drive my car with the trunk open, as it makes me unable to see out of the back window.
My trunk has opened while driving and now my trunk will not open at all, even with the manual key.
