On this past labor day, which was 9/3/2018, I pulled into a gas station to refuel my car. Shut off car and had key fob with me. Pumped the fuel and got back in the car. Nothing. Car was inoperable. Pressed the start button, pressed the brakes, shifted from drive to neutral and back, pressed the brake and the start button again and nothing. Dashboard lit up like a christmas tree with the key fob light on, the check engine light on, etc. Called bluelink. They transferred me to a "phone prompt" switchboard. Problem is the phone screen would not operate as it was frozen as well. Called again, lady stayed on the phone with me and transferred me. Then when transferred she was about to hang up with the message read they were closed. Wtf? I am supposed to have roadside assistance. Rep from bluelink told me to tow the car. There was nothing she could do as it was a holiday. Honestly, I was furious. I exited the car again and shut the door. Had the fob with me. Got back in and again, nothing. Could not even turn the steering wheel. Got out again and this time checked fuses, and turned switch off then on for all fuses. Nothing again. Repeated the steps as typed earlier, and nothing. About 20 minutes later I tried it again and it started. I have had my communications center replaced once already. Android auto worked when it felt like it. My sensors for blind spots turn off at will. My rear view camera works but the sensors don't always pick up oncoming cars or pedestrians. The car is going back tomorrow yet again. This time I am pushing for lemon law. The electrical system is critical to the functionality of the car. I love the mileage I get from this car and everything else is great, but I am not running the risk of driving on the interstate and the electronic system just decides to go on a vacation!.

On approximately April 30, 2018, while driving my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to montgomery alabama I stopped to fill up on gas. After filling up I got back in my car and the car would not start my car, that's when I noticed the check hybrid system warning and check engine light came on. The steering was locked and the engine lost total power. Vehicle would not restart. Vehicle was stationary at a gas pump.
Hev check hybrid system. Car would not start. Car dropped @ dealer on 4/16/18 @ 0830. Today is 4/24/18. Car started after waiting 15-20 mins. Check engine light still on when dropped at dealer.
On 4 separate occasions while traveling on highways at highway speed in ev mode, getting a warning "check hybrid system turn off engine" along with a check engine light; these are the occurrence dates 12/01/2017, 12/11/2017, 12/23/2017, 01/06/2018. Each time has been accompanied by a complete loss of gasoline engine availability resulting in a significant and unsafe drop in vehicle speed due to the car only being able to continue running on battery power. After pulling over I have been able shutdown the car and restart. Upon restart, the gasoline engine does come back on. Also note the "check engine" light has turned back off by the time I have taken the car back to the dealership. The car has been to the dealership twice now and supposedly repaired both times under warranty. The first repair attempt on 12/12/2017; the dealer was instructed by Hyundai to try TSB 16-01-020-1. The second repair attempt on 12/27/2017; there had been a p261f and p0a0f fault code and the dealer was instructed by Hyundai to replace all four spark plug coils. These attempts have not fixed the underlying problem as represented by the latest occurrence on 01/06/2018. This car is less than two years old and had only 36000 miles on it when this started happening.

The vehicle was then towed to jim burke automotive located at 1301 5th Ave n, birmingham, al 35203, (205) 549-9387, where the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, less than a year after the engine was replaced the failure recurred. The contact stated that currently the vehicle was still at the dealer. The contact stated that the engine was scheduled to be replaced for a second time in November of 2018. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000. Ah.

Was driving vehicle and "check charging system" message displayed on the console. The vehicle lost power, I could not accelerate so I had to manevour to the far right of the freeway to come to a stop. Turned off the vehicle then re started. Check engine light remained on.
I was driving on a interstate and suddenly I see "hybrid system warning message" + "check charging system" with continuous alarm beep sounds. I had to immediately move to the right most shoulder on the interstate (which I was able to as car was still on with engine running). Once, I moved to the shoulder, I turned off the engine and restarted the car with check engine light. It would turn on fine but wouldn't move and immediately it throws up the error. I have attached the pics for reference. Since car didn't turn off in the middle of highway, I was safely able to move it to the curb. I cannot imagine what would have happened if car had shut off. I had it towed to the nearest dealer and there are working on it. I just had a 45000 miles factory servicing with same dealership where the car got towed to and they checked on all the green boxes. Within a week, I had this issue. This is what troubling me.
The car suddenly started chiming loudly, the check engine light lit up, a second light lit on the dash and a warning message that said to check the charging system appeared on the console. The car became near impossible to operate: limited acceleration, jerked repeatedly trying to stop in a safe location, lost power to ac system. . . . Dangerous situation if other traffic had been nearby. The car is now inoperable as we wait for a tow to take it to the nearest dealer.
