Constantly jerking, hesitating or stalling.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to make a left turn, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle stalled and shut-off in the middle of the turn. The vehicle coasted across the street to avoid oncoming traffic. The vehicle was restarted and driven to his destination. The vehicle was taken to gerald Hyundai (209 hansen boulevard, north aurora, IL 60542, (877) 781-4106) where the mechanic test drove the vehicle however, could not duplicate the failure. An independent mechanic was contacted and the contact was informed that the failure was possibly caused by the dual clutch system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,000.
I have done a significant amount of research and found that the Hyundai Tucson has three potential problems that cause the issues with the stalling/low power on takeoff. I believe that part of it might be the transmission not engaging properly in 1st gear and that should be something they can fix with a computer update. The second from what I've read is that the fuel tank has a material flaking off on the inside of the fuel tank causing the fuel filter to be damaged/clogged. The third and from what I have read, the reason some of the Tucsons fail is a bad crank shaft. My guess is that the bad crank shaft happens over time and that the problems start with the fuel clogs. The fuel system needs to be examined to ensure that the "flaking off" material defect inside the tank is not the cause of the fuel filter being clogged and eventually the car fails. The loss of power is scary and dangerous and must be resolved. Wouldn't it be cheaper if Hyundai replaced all the fuel tanks on the cars with one that doesn't have a defective material coated on the inside of them rather than replace motors and keep doing work on them over and over and over?.

Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate after a stop, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to mccarthy olathe Hyundai 681 n rawhide, olathe, KS 66061 where they diagnosed the vehicle with a loose drain plug. Due to the damage caused by the loose drain plug, the contact was informed that the entire engine would have to be replaced. The contact then notified the manufacturer of the failure. After an extensive investigation, the manufacturer deemed the failure to have been caused by the negligence of her independent mechanic who serviced her vehicle for oil changes. The manufacturer denied to honor her warranty. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 47,110. Jo.
When you are stopped at a light and it changes to green you step on the gas and the car bucks like it is going to stall. This also happens when you start the car up and put it in drive give it gas and it bucks. U have to give it more gas to make it drive hopefully it will not just stall. I think this could be a transmission problem. This happens all the time.
The contact owned a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. While driving 20-25 mph down a road preparing to merge, the vehicle stalled and continued to roll forward. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle but failed. The contact noticed white smoke and stopped the vehicle by engaging the emergency brake. The contact gathered some of her belongings as the smoke turned gray and got 20 feet away from the vehicle. There were flames noticed coming from under the hood. The dealer replaced the engine, but the failure reoccurred which lead to the entire vehicle catching on fire most recent. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The failure mileage was 118,000. The VIN was unknown.
Car stalls and hesitates at stops and acceleration. . Lack of acceleration from stop or slowing down. Lack of power at crucial driving periods. Condition creates dangerous circumstances.
Driving about 25 mph turning into a parking lot the vehicle jerked forward, then just stalled. I barely got it off the road and finally had bystanders help push me off. It was towed to local Hyundai dealer and after review, they stated something about debris melted and got into the engine, which destroyed the engine. Was under full warranty and now it's been 30 days I've been without my vehicle.
I leased a 2017 Tucson intending to buy at the end. Over the past year and a half, with about 29,000 miles on it, I have had six different occasions where I pull out onto my busy 50 mph road and the vehicle will not move. It's almost as if it had stalled or slipped into neutral, no matter how soft or hard you step on the gas. Each occasion my son and I have come within seconds of being hit by dump trucks, tractor trailers, or other roadway vehicles. The dealership service says it's the dual clutch system, but cannot find anything wrong, they've reset the parameters to factory settings, but it does not fix the problem. Not to mention the ac just went on it out of nowhere. I am 16 months out from the lease termination, and feel so unsafe driving this vehicle due to the fact I have come within seconds of getting rear ended by dump trucks, then having the car buck forward and red line. Handfuls of customers have complained about this vehicle, but nothing will be done to address this until a family or person winds up seriously injured or dead. Unfortunately, my husband and I are at a crossroads deciding if breaking the lease would be better than winding up in a coffin, either way it'll cost a significant amount of money on our end.
When I am in a complete stop my engine/transmission feels like it wants to stall or misfire. When I take off it keeps jumping because it has no power. I almost get in a accident everytime I stop and take off again. I have taken it to universal Hyundai 2 separate times for the same issue and they told me nothing is wrong with it. It is suppose to do that. I drove 10 other SUV the same as mine and had no issue and had good power. This is a major safety issue and almost got into about 7 accidents with it because it feels like no power or vacuum or anything. Idk how to explain. If I slow down but not stop then push the gas to get speed again the car bounces like it is miss firing or transmission went bad.
Dual clutch transmission (dct) / 1. 6t engine start from stop acceleration stuttering, stalling occurs from initial take offs, while idling in stop/go traffic creates potentially dangerous drive/passenger situation in traffic especially when crossing traffic patterns and lane merging/passing. Issue has been brought to the attention of Hyundai corporate and two local Hyundai dealerships. Both parties indicate lack of knowledge on how to properly drive dct transmission and provided both video and written training packages. Both training mechanisms failed to resolve the issue. Supposed software updates by the leasing dealership failed to resolve the issue also. Issue is still active and latest visit to dealership failed to find any issues with no repairs or software updates taking place. Senior technician indicated Hyundai leadership at corporate are acutely aware of issue but choosing to not act accordingly/appropriately.
My vehicle seems to stall/hesitate when accelerating from a full stop. I have the 1. 6 turbo automatic transmission which I understand has a software glitch that can delay acceleration from when the car is stationary. This occurs quite often when proceeding when light turns green--dangerous when making a left turn & in a precarious position multiple times with oncoming traffic. Brought car to dealer w/complaint but they did not make any adjustments or corrections. Told me to "live with it. " unacceptable! please help.
While driving I have noticed that when I begin to accelerate after a complete stop my car jerks forward and doesn't catch. It's almost as if the vehicle stalls before moving forward, this happens when moving forward or reversing from a complete stop. I haven't been able to get a response to the issue from the dealership though I've let them know there is an issue multiple times over the past 3 months.
While vehicle is being driven, in motion on a street and needing to accelerate, especially when making a turn, often the accelerator pedal will seem to stall or falter when being depressed, causing the vehicle to slow, then the pedal continues downward and the vehicle lurches forward. Hyundai service advisor on July 6, 2018 politely said "all Tucson turbo models do this, no problem". To me this is scary. Does NHTSA think likewise and could there be a safety issue?.
Vehicle frequently, intermittently, stalls during take off from a stop. When accelerating from a stop sign or traffic light vehicle will simply roll as if it is freely rolling in neutral but is not receiving any power or acceleration from the engine for approximately 3 to 5 seconds before engine/drivetrain engauges and vehicle accelerates. This creates an extreme safety hazard when you have the vehicle in an intersection and accelerate to make a left turn in a gap in traffic and end stuck in the intersection or in front of an oncoming vehicle because the vehicle is only rolling and not accelerating. This issue has been reported to Hyundai USA corporate who has chosen not offer any remedy and has it stated to me this is a "characteristic of my vehicle. ". Hyundai USA has continually referred me back to the dealership, who does not have a fix for this issue. Hyundai USA has even place the blame for this issue on the dealership. However the issue here is that Hyundai USA engineers have not admitted to having this problem or created a fix to this problem to roll out to the dealership to allow them to remedy this problem. This identical issue has been reported and issued as a recall in prior models of this vehicle, yet Hyundai refuses to do anything on this model.
At various times during driving the car's engine will feel like there's no power or no gas and will go into a stall. This has happened both during accelerating from a stop going into traffic and during driving and accelerating. I have inquired at the dealership(fucillo Hyundai) and the service department suggested to use 93 octane, that was almost a year now and still happens sporadically. This is a very unsafe condition especially while pulling into traffic and the car goes into a "stall". Researching blogs this is happening to other owners and is not isolated to me.
Car engine/transmission stalls, lags, hesitates, jumps and chugs when gas is pressed from a stopped position or in slow stop and go traffic. When pressing on the gas pedal the engine/trans does not engage and move the car. After a few seconds the car will engage and jerk, and jump. The hesitation makes the car feel like it is going to stall out. Very dangerous situation. I am afraid every time I get in the car to drive. This has been going since the day bought the car.
When taking corners in the city I can't accelerate the car just revs for about 15-30 seconds and won't move. I have to try to pull over to get off the road. Also when accelerating from a stop the rpm's like to shoot up but the car won't take no gas. I have almost been hit twice because of this problem. Hyundai just says learn how to drive it. Learn what how to stall?.
Bought 2017 Hyundai Tucson on September 8th 2017 1st time in shop 10-4-2017 to 10-7-2017! we picked up car and drove maybe 5 miles to have accelerator (gas) not go when turning on a busy highway light came back on, car back in shop 10-7-2017 to 10-19-2017 reported it is fixed! drove morning of 10-20-2017 and light came back on! from 10-20-2017 to now and still ongoing eta 12-15-2017! this vehicle scares me! it has left me stranded miles away from home, and all of a sudden it just stops very scary someone will die with this ongoing problem! I do not want to drive in fear it will just decide to stall. I drove car off lot with 31 miles and has less then 2000 on it now! I still do not have my car back and honestly scared to drive it!.
On several occasions the dual clutch system has failed to engage. It occurs when I am stopped and press the pedal to accelerate the car. The car feels as though it is going to stall and does not move forward. This has put me in dangerous situations when I believe I have enough time to turn, but when the car does not respond, my time available to turn is reduced. I reported this to the dealer and they indicated that many people have complained about this behavior and it is the nature of a dual clutch transmission. The service man said that it takes time for the computer to determine what it is going to do next and I need to give it that time.
The car hesitates when accelerating from a stop and acts as it's going to stall. There is no power in the gas pedal when this happens and it can take a few seconds before it finally shifts. This has been happening since may 2017 when I purchased it and I have reported ot to the dealership 3 times. They have been unable to duplicate the issue or find a code indicating that the issue has occurred.
When you first step on gas car bucks like it is going to stall. Happens when you first start car and when at red light and it turns green you give it gas and it start to buck. Thank you mindy.
