Warnings problems of the 2023 Hyundai Tucson

At dusk I was driving below the speed limit (40 mph). I was at least 3 car lengths behind the vehicle in front of me when I saw the driver was braking because his brake lights came on and there was an intersection ahead with a stop light. There were at least two cars ahead of the vehicler I was behind. I braked but the car kept on going and appeared to accelerate. I was unable to stop the car with the brakes and collided with the car ahead. It was a sturdy vehicle with a strong bumper so I did not do much damage, if any, to the vehicle but my car requires $6,645. 90 of repairs. No one was hurt and the air bags did not deploy. I was wearing my seat belt. There was no warning from NY vehicle that I was getting too close to the vehicle ahead and my car made no attempt to brake automatically. It was as though all warning indicators were not functioning. I have had two other incidents of the car surging ahead but did not report it because no one else was involved and I was able to correct the speed and I thought it was just my imagination.

Major problems with this cars electrical and computer systems. Six warning lights would begin to flash in succession. Eventually car would be inoperative leaving us stranded in July 2025 in cumberland MD then after supposed repair we were again stranded in providence ri on Nov 20, 2025 and car has been there for repair ever since. No completion date has yet been given. I strongly believe there are major safety problems with this car.

Forward collision alert came on and brakes initiated while I was behind a car that was turning into a driveway. The car in front of me was almost all the way into the driveway. After that I drove approximately 200 feet and the collision alert warning came on, no vehicles were around me. The next day, as I was driving, a car was waiting to exit an apartment driveway, the collision alert came on. No reason for it. I took my car in to Hyundai on January 9, to have the oil changed and check the forward collision alert system. They told me they checked it, and could not find anything wrong, and recalibrated the system, and hoped that took care of it.

New 2023 Hyundai Tucson purchased 9/9/2023 from curry Hyundai in cortland NY. On several instances of highway driving during the first 1,000 miles, on highways and at highway speeds, the forward collision avoidance system activated without any reason and applied the brakes at highway speed. This happened 6 or more times in only 6 or 7 highway trips during the 1,000 break-in period, and happened after the first visit to service for this problem, during which the dealer reset the system and sent me on my way, only to leave me driving a vehicle with the same, continuing defect. After the third service attempt, dealer and Hyundai have been unable to repair the vehicle (now with the dealer for over a week). Hyundai fails to even acknowledge its warranty or any other obligations to me, and all its communications show that it doesn't take these problems seriously, it has no standard process for dealing with them, and it offers basically nothing to the frustrated car owner. All its "customer care" department has done is check with the dealer, only to leave the problem with me for an unlimited timeframe.

I was driving on the highway at 60/70 mph and there was nothing in front of my car. The brakes went on for a second stopping the car abruptly and I swerved. This happened once more. It then happened another time on a turn as I tried to regain control of the car it swerved from side to side and almost got into an accident or spun out.
