Side/window Air Bag Problems of Hyundai XG350

Hyundai motor corporation air bag wiring harness connector defect. Numerous Hyundai motor cars, Xg350, sonata, etc. Have faulty connectors which prevent the airbag system from working. More than one dealer has stated in written service reports(available for review) the problems lie in a faulty airbag wiring connector in the wiring harness. They reseat the plugs in the front seats and then they reset the 'computer' and the airbag warning light goes out, however it comes back on again after a short interval. This 'defect' applies to numerous models of Hyundai cars. It is dubious the system will work properly in the event it is needed in an emergency.

The driver owns a 2003 Hyundai Xg350. The owner of the vehicle received a recall notice for the suspension (09v124000). Prior to receiving the notice, the driver stated that the vehicle was hard to control and the brakes began locking which caused her to hit a curb. The passenger front tire was damaged. The identical failure occurred when someone other than the owner was driving the vehicle and the rear passenger tire was damaged. There were no injuries during the failures. The dealer stated that the driver side air bag deployed while the vehicle was inoperative. The contact stated that there were various electrical malfunctions before the suspension failure occurred. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer who stated that there were no mechanical problems. The current and failure mileages were 4,162.

I was driving down the road when a car, entering traffic, failed to stop/yield and struck me on the driver's side. For lack of a better word, I was "t-boned" by a car traveling 30-40 mph. I sustained multiple injuries and have incurred some permanent damage.

Side door collision. Air bag did not deploy.

When t boned at 10 mph on driver's side the driver's side air bag did not deploy. Consumer was hospitalized. Vehicle was towed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

When t boned at 40 mph the side air bags did not deploy, and the engine dropped. Vehicle was towed. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

My 2001 Hyundai Xg350l was involved in a side accident and the side airbag did not deploy. This car had been to the dealer months ago subject to a recall to fix something defective on the side air bag. I have found no way to send this information to Hyundai on their website.
