Infiniti FX35 owners have reported 4 problems related to brake disc pads (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have had my fx 35 for 6 years now and for the most part have been pleased with it. Except, when it comes to the braking system. Based on the research I done, I am not the only one with the same complaint. The brakes produce a piercing squeal at slow speeds when they are lightly applied. I've spent close to $1,000 in an attempt to resolve the issue without success. I've had both the front and rear pads and rotors replaced with factory-brand parts and the issue still exists. When I ask the dealer about the problem they say "it happens to all of them" and that "there's nothing they can do". How can this not be considered a manufacturing defect and be subject to a recall? this is precisely why I chose to spend my $50,000 for my latest car purchase at a mercedes-benz dealer! after spending over $40,000 on a "luxury" brand automobile, I expected more. . . A lot more. Infiniti please do something about this!.

I own a 2004 Infiniti Fx35 awd. There's a squeaking noise coming from the front brakes when braking and also when I drive normally not applying brakes. I noticed the noise around 20,000 miles. I took the car into my local Infiniti dealer (Infiniti of thousand oaks) in January 2006 when I had other services to do (about 30,000 miles & 80% of break pad life left at that time). They were not able to fix it and the noise have been getting louder. I've taken it into the same Infiniti dealer on numerous occasions but the dealer could not correct the problem each time. As of 10/11/06, they are telling me that it's a glazed rotor and is not covered under warranty. I've researched many Infiniti forum and noticed that there are numerous complaints about fx 35, qx45, and g35 breaking system. Also the Infiniti dealer service advisor, service manager, and service director tells me that about 90% of fx do have this brake squeaking problem and they can't do anything about it because Infiniti corporation will not reimburse them for this common problem. They don't feel it is not right as well but their excuse is that they are financially tied from doing the repair. I don't think this is acceptable quality of service or product for a luxury brand car company and dealer.
My vehicle has 25,000 miles currently. There was heavy juddering while braking since 22,000 miles and I didn't attribute it to the brakes and thought it was probably the tire pressure. I changed the tire pressure to different psi but it still didn't help. I took it to the dealer and the dealer said I had to change the brake pads and turn the brake rotors. I found the next day that there was TSB #05023 issued by Infiniti in July 2005. My vehicle was purchased in sept 2003. The dealer does not want to honor the warranty even when I referred to the TSB. Inifiniti says this vehicle will not be covered even though the TSB mentions that this particular brake judder issue is a known defect and covers my model year. There is widespread reporting of this issue at a very low odometer reading on the internet forums.
I made the mistake of buying a 2005 Infiniti Fx35 believing I was getting a luxury brand. Almost immediately, I started hearing this pig squealing noise from the brakes whenever I am backing up. I reported this to the dealer who told me to drive it around some more just for the brakes to "settle down". Well, it never got better! after more complaints, I had someone at the dealership tell me that this noise "was normal" for Infinitis! unbelievable! over the past 3 years, I have reported this noise at every service I have taken the car in for. Infiniti (at their own expense) have replaced my pads and rotors once. I still have the noise. The dealer is now telling me that there is nothing else they can do for me as they have performed everything recommended by Infiniti! my car still makes horrible noises every time I back up. To add to my woes, my brakes also make a horrible grinding noise going forward for about the first 5 minutes after getting into a cold car. Guess what? the dealership is again telling me that I am on the latest brake pads recommended by Infiniti so once again, there is nothing they can do for me! this is ridiculous! from talking to mechanics and reps at the dealership, it is obvious that I am not the only one having these problems and Infiniti does not seem to care about us! with several reports of poor dealership dealings, I am convinced that the "Infiniti experience" is no better than what you can expect from buying a Nissan! needless to say, I will not be buying any more Infinitis in the future and would not recommend them to anyone!.
