I changed the camshaft sensor because it gave me an error code since my car was taking too long to turn over. Than the slip and vfc off light came on and my car would jerk and the brake light would come on and it would just stop completely. Than I changed a coil and the oil. Now the oil is completely empty within 2 weeks. And I'm constantly putting gas and it's like the gage doesn't work. Because sometimes it's completely full and the gage will read half tank. Now it's giving me another code and saying there is a misfire. If I turn the ac on the shaking is worse and it smells horrible.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Infiniti Fx35. While driving, the vehicle would not properly accelerate and the rpms and speedometer increased although the accelerator pedal was not pressed. During the failure, the vds and slip warning sensors displayed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 161,000.

Vehicle was driving at 55-60mph, immediately lost all power and rough engine shake on the highway. Managed to pull off to the side. Opened the hood to find the catalytic converters both smoking and glowing red from excess fuel being dumped into them due to a very common and well known bad grounding issue. Worried they would cause a fire I evacuated my family and call a tow truck. After having the car examined the Fx35 has destroyed all 6 ignition coils which was causing gas to be dumped into the catalytic converters. It also destroyed both catalytic converters and possibly the computer, the car is still being looked at. Had we not stopped I fear the car would have started a fire from the excess fuel and burning/melting of the catalytic converters. Not to mention is was very dangerous to have the car lose all power on the highway. This is a very commonly known problem and very unacceptable to have an issue known like this not be fixed by a simple grounding wire issue.

Changed 1 engine coil and all 6 plugs, ran good for 2 days. Then started running rough, hesitates and cuts off. Then changed all 6 coils, ran good 2 days then started with the same problems. Internet research says possible ecm, ipdm or ecu relay causing the coils to over heat and burn up. No recalls on 2007 Fx35 but other models have exact same problems. Infiniti should step up and recall the 2007 Fx35 model as well.

While going up and down a winding the road the car began to accelerate on its own. Tried to apply the break to know avail. After about 2-3 minutes the car returned to normal.

Vehicle failed to start after sitting overnight,upon research, found this is a commom problem with this vehicle with no help from manufacturer(Nissan). It seems that the ipdm(intelligent power distribution module) on numerous Nissan made vehicles are defective. Also upon removal of the camshaft position sensor found it covered with motor oil,another common problem with all makes of Nissan vehicles. These are very dangerous problems that could very well lead to a tragic or deadly incident.
