Engine Exhaust System Problems of Infiniti FX35

2006 Infiniti Fx35. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle muffler and heat shield covering catalytic converter corrosion and rust. The consumer was informed the muffler rusting and the heat shield falling off, was due to moisture and environment conditions.

2003 Infiniti Fx35, engine broken with mileage only 89,992. No car accident record. Well maintenance done by dealer. Manufacturer has no idea what cause the engine broken.

Vehicle began to exhibit white smoke on start up through exhaust. Brought vehicle in for service, was informed that a cleaner and some parts were required but vehicle was ok to drive. Upon waiting for parts, experienced more smoke and then engine noise. Immediately stopped vehicle, checked oil and found oil level too low to continue. Returned vehicle to dealer, waited and was informed that after 40k miles, vehicle required new engine. We have been waiting three weeks for Infiniti to warranty the engine. They have requested service records, but will not make a determination to warranty the engine.

2004 Fx35- black smoke comes from the exhaust pipes when the car is started for the first time each day. I have shown the dealership video of this and yet they still are reluctant to admit there is a problem. My gas mileage is far less that the epa estimates. The transfer case has also been replaced twice in one year.
