Five problems related to air bag light on have been reported for the 2004 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The car burned nearly 4. 2. Qts of oil in under 4000 miles. Massive number of users indicate same problem of insane amounts of oil consumption on various forums on the internet. This is most likely also a serious smog violation in CA and also is causing engines to blow up. Numerous mechanics will verify that they have seen the same problem with engines blowing at under 100,00 miles do to excess oil consumption. I have proof of my last oil change and number of miles. Also the amount of oil that came out of my car was less than a quarter of quart after only 4,000 miles of driving. My mechanic verified that there are no leaks. Please NHTSA! please investigate this issue further. 20,0000 dollar car is basically totaled now. All dealers and Nissan refuses to acknowledge the problem even though there is a high possibility they know of the problem and are hiding it. Also, the airbag light has been on for three years and no matter how you reset it, it will continually return to being on, indicating some sort of problem with the airbags.
While driving on highway at a speed of 65 miles when my car shut off; I'm blessed that I was driving on a two lane highway and maneuver over quickly without another car rear ending me. After sitting for 10 minutes then the power kicked back in. What could be the issue. . . . . . Now the service engine soon light is on so is the slip and vdc light as well. I have been experiencing this problem for at a month while driving car cutting off. But this is the first time car completely cutting off and lights coming on (service engine, vdc, and slip) the check engine light is still on. My airbag light has been blinking since I took ownership of vehicle in November 2015. The current vehicle miles is 152,000.
Air bag sensor is not working air bag lights remains blinking driver seats motor not working.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 infinit G35. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's side reflector lamps failed to illuminate and were replaced on two separate occasions. In addition, when refueling the fuel would spray out of the fuel filler neck even though the fuel tank was not filled to the full capacity. The VIN was not included in the NHTSA campaign id numbers: 06e060000 (exterior lighting) and 05v555000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that after starting the vehicle the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis however, the mechanic was unable to locate the problem. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 173,000. Js.
I'm astoundingly concerned about the safety of this vehicle. This is the second 2004 G35 I've owned and the first one I purchased brand new, owned 9 years, drove 230,000 miles and had none of these issues/failures when it was sold to a happy new owner . . . Although it was a G35x. This is how I know these are in fact failures/defects in this second one. This vehicle has not experienced any recent damage or known problems, yet the last few days every time it has been started, the airbag light is remaining lit for an extended period of time before it decides to go off on the dash. It lingers and then finally goes out. It has been very rainy and humid here for an extended period and we are a state targeted for takata recall, but this vehicle is "not one" allegedly. I fear for my safety! there have also been 2 different incidents of performance failures while driving at low speeds (fortunately) where the car has completely shut down, the dash lit up with the vdc slip and other lights, no steering was available and I was stranded in traffic during rush hour. This is very dangerous. The car would not restart temporarily and I had no choice but to sit until it would restart. This was a danger to myself as well as others. This never happened in my other g with over 230,000 miles on it. The rear passenger window also decided to lower and raise itself on its own. It was taken to the dealer for this issue and the problem wouldn't replicate, of course. The 3rd brake light has been out since around 115,000 miles. Never failed on my G35x in the 230,000 miles. This is an obvious defect on this one and all the other complaints I read. An led shouldn't fail like this or all these others I read. When it's a dealer only item and costs approx. $400 to be installed ~ it should be a recall. Please investigate these issues and help us. I've had 2 . . . Here's proof. .
