Two problems related to air bag not deploy have been reported for the 2004 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2004 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that the driver of the vehicle experienced a front-end crash into a tree at 20 mph and the air bags did not deploy. The driver was injured as a result. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was available. The manufacturer offered no assistance. The current and failure mileage was approximately 100,850.
On August 30, 2007, I was stopped at a red light in my 2004 Infiniti G35x and was struck from behind while stationary with my foot on the brake. The vehicle that struck me was traveling at a high rate of speed estimated to be in excess of 40mph. The impact crushed my rear bumper and trunk and drove my vehicle into the rear of the SUV stopped in front of me, crushing my front end and inducing deployment of the passenger air bag although there was no one occupying the passenger seat. However, the driver's side air bag did not deploy in this collision, and while the seat belt restrained me, my arm hit the steering wheel, and I suffered musculoskeletal injuries in this accident. The car has been deemed a total loss. Both the insurance appraiser and I have questioned whether a defect prevented the driver's side airbag from deploying. I have reported the incident to Infiniti.
