This just started for me, I was driving along in traffic on the highway when all of sudden my car just loss power and wouldn't accelerate. Not yet stalled but going about 2 mph, I was able to get it to the side of the highway. It ended up stalling out when I stopped, I couldn't get the vehicle started, it was acting like it didn't have gas, but it did. A light saying vdc (slipped) turned on as well as the service engine soon. I experienced the total loss of power while accelerating. Needless to say I took it to the dealership. They charged me stating that it was all fixed but it did the same thing on Saturday 9/12/15. 2004 is not a year impacted by the recall yet I'm having the same issue as the 2003 recall.

The vehicle started hesitating and stalling for no apparent reason. I would be driving for variable amounts of time, from 5 to 20 minutes, when the engine power would just cut out. This was at stoplights, while doing highway speeds, and everything in-between, there does not seem to be any consistent reason. Based on research on various websites, it appears to be a camshaft or crankshaft sensor. Only the sensor, not any mechanical failure. This is a serious and dangerous flaw when a sensor causes your vehicle to stop working while driving in rush hour traffic and other highly dangerous times.
