Four problems related to service engine light on have been reported for the 2004 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving on highway at a speed of 65 miles when my car shut off; I'm blessed that I was driving on a two lane highway and maneuver over quickly without another car rear ending me. After sitting for 10 minutes then the power kicked back in. What could be the issue. . . . . . Now the service engine soon light is on so is the slip and vdc light as well. I have been experiencing this problem for at a month while driving car cutting off. But this is the first time car completely cutting off and lights coming on (service engine, vdc, and slip) the check engine light is still on. My airbag light has been blinking since I took ownership of vehicle in November 2015. The current vehicle miles is 152,000.
2004 Infiniti G35 lost power when driving. Service engine soon light as well as vdc lights are on. It is hesitant to start after that. Has happened at least one time each during the last three times the car was driven. Major safety issue as the it has happened when turning at a major intersection. Luckily we were able to coast the car to the side of the road. Same issue exist on the 2003 G35 in which there was a recall for, but none exists for the 2004 models. Contacted infinit in which I was told there was no active campaigns for my model, except for the side airbags. Was told that this would be treated as a repair (subject to very high dealer costs) and not a recall. I have found many other post on the internet with the same issue for the same model and the same complaint that it is not addressed by Infiniti. How has Infiniti verified that this does not exist in other model, especially being so close the 2003 and 2004?!? this is a major safety issue.
The contact owns a 2004 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the vdc, slip and service engine soon lights. The vehicle eventually was restarted and all of the light remained illuminated. As the contact parked the vehicle later, the vehicle stalled a second time. The failure recurred twice. The dealer was notified and the contact was informed that the camshaft sensor would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 97,637.
While driving my 2004 Infiniti G35 sedan with 6 speed manaul on the highway- I suddenly got a vdc slip slight, service engine soon light. The car began to sputter intermittingly loosing power. I was able to make it to the side of the road and ultimately into a parking lot - although I was nearly rear ended when the car stumbled. This happened one before in sept. 2007 with my wife - in which the dealer replaced the cam sensor.
