My 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan's dashboard seems to be melting. I live in florida. During afternoon's, I see the dash is all shiny and sticky when touched. I get a glare when driving certain directions. I have another vehicle made by another manufacturer and in the exact same conditions, and I do not see this issue. The dealership when contacted mentioned they would not cover the repairs and that I was solely responsible for the charges which they said would amount close to $4000. The Infiniti consumer affairs when contacted, did nothing to address my concern. I am concerned whether this will pose a health-risk to me and my family. Please help resolve my issue.

Both outside and inside door handles on driver's door failed thus making door mechanism impossible to activate and driver's door impossible to open from inside or outside under any conditions. Door cannot be pushed open from inside because latch mechanism is in closed position securing door closed and handles do not work. Contacted dealer and dealer said it is probably a failed handle cable and that it is not uncommon on this model and is not covered under any recall, reimbursement, or safety program. This is a serious safety issue because the complete failure of the door latch mechanism traps the driver in the car; it is almost impossible for an adult-sized driver to get out because they cannot effectively crawl over the center console and gear shift to the passenger seat, assuming the passenger door is not blocked. A recall of this known defect is required immediately to save lives and allow trapped drivers and passengers to get out of car in reasonable time and way.

This vehicle was imported from canada at blaine, washington in 2014. This vehicle still reports speed in kilometers and records mileage in kilometers even though it now has a washington title. .
Dashboard deteriorating and appears "melting" when in hot environment. Have read of dangerous chemicals being produced when hot in a cas letter to NHTSA regarding Nissan “melting” dashboards – October 6, 2021 (attached) as well as being a safety hazard from the film produced causing windshield glare and/or film restricting vision. Condition has existed since purchase (date below) and progressively getting worse. Only now found information about the cause but no remedy available outside of a new dash?.
Not sure this is something you would pursue but I have not been able to get satisfaction from lake norman Infiniti locally or their national customer service support desk. I have a 2006 Infiniti coupe with 24k miles on it. I had an issue with what was determined to be the cooling fans for that car. I was told by the parts manager(john) at the dealership that car has known issues with the cooling fans. The service manager (victor) sent me to the national team. The car went into service on 08/05/06. The part failed on or about 08/15/14. I am being told by the national team that the part had a 8 yr ' hard' warranty on it. There have since been denials about the part being defective since my initial contact with lake norman dealership. I was there in March of 2014 for service and was never communicated an issue with that part. The car has low mileage as it sits in the garage most the time. I was driving it to wilmington when I saw the first evidence of a problem on 08/16. As a result of the issue, I had to replace the cooling fans and the radiator on the car.
Control panel totally inoperable. Ac blows at highest setting, unable to change any settings, unable to use defroster. Recall doesnt include my VIN althogh it has the same problem as those recalled.

Vehicle accelerated rapidly while coming to a stop in a slot parking space. Operators foot was on the break peddle at the time of the rapid acceleration. Vehicle then crashed into a tree and came to a complete stop. The crash caused extensive front end damage to the hood and front bumper and the energy absorbing system. The air bags did not deploy but the air bag indicator lamp is on.
I was heading south on I 75 in florida heading towards bradenton in the passing lane doing between 75 & 80 when my engine shut down making a loud noise. I immediately put my flashers on and was able to move to the side of the road in the emergency lane, luckily there was one. The car behind me went to the middle lane at that point. I am so furious this happened as I just had my car serviced the week before and I am 72, a senior citizen. The cooling fans apparently knocked out the thermostat. I had it towed to the dealer in tampa who then informs me the warranty was extended on a recall till October and that Infiniti would pay for the cooling fans but not the thermostat. . . I think all Infiniti owners should've been notified of this problem and had it fixed but no letters were written, its an unwritten recall apparently because they have had problems. I find fault with this situation because I could have been killed waiting for help just being on the side of the road like that on an interstate. . . . Shame on Infiniti for not making this a true recall. . . . Are they waiting for someone to get killed before they officially recall it?? I no longer have any confidence in Infiniti and am looking for a different vehicle to purchase, this one is off my list now. . . This car has been very expensive to keep up. . . .
I first complained to a consumer affairs representative for Infiniti in April, 2014, at the time the vehicle had approximately 42,000 miles. I am retired and don't drive very much, about 3,000 miles a year. I have owned Infinities since 1990 when I bought an m class, I've had all the classes; j, g whatever. Until 2005 I would buy and or lease a new car every 2 to 3 years. However, since I've been retired the need to replace a good running car, which has been mechanically superb and with less than 49,000 miles would be an extravagant and unnecessary move. I have not had an accident in over 20 yrs. The problems are regarding the exterior paint, which shows minor rust and the fading of the color in areas that are not necessarily overly exposed to the sun, I. E. Bellow the roof and over the rear doors. However, my biggest concern is the interior door panels which have pulled away from the doors due to a skimping of perhaps as little as 1/4" of material under the horizontal strip which is supposed to keep the panel in place. I have attempted to re-glue the panels, however due to the shrinkage of the material; my attempts have been less than successful. Since this is the first vehicle that I have ever owned for a period greater than 4 years, I am extremely disappointed with the obvious lack of companies, Infiniti and Nissan with their seeming lack of action for a longtime loyal customer. Sadly, in my correspondence to Infiniti consumer affairs, their response was a jolt to my sensibility and completely unacceptable.
My dashboard (top near the windshield glass) is always sticky and shiny in certain parts and collects dust. It makes it difficult to drive in the sun because of the glare from the stickiness. The lightly driven car is kept in garage at home and exposed to sun when at work. Vehicle has 57k miles and has always been garage kept. I am concerned after hearing about other Infiniti dashboards that are melting and no action from the manufacturer.
0n 3/25 at approx. 3:30 in the afternoon I was traveling north on the florida tpke. At approx 65-70 mph when I suddenly hear a loud "swoosh" and noticed that the shade beneath my moonroof was violently shaing. The shock nearly caused me to lose controm of my vehicle. I reached up opened the sliding shade cover to see that there was nothing there. I pulled onto the shoulder to inspect my vehicle when I noticed that the glass portion of my sunroof was gone. At this point I really got nervous thinking that it could possibly have hit the car or motorcycle behind me causing a horrific accident. I called 911 who transferred me to florida hwy patrol. I gave the officer my name & location and he instucted me to stay where I was. After about 5 minutes he came back on the phone to tell me that there were no reports of any accidents or debris on the road. He informed me that it probably hit the ground and shattered. Whatever the case, I felt releived and drove home. The following day I brought my vehicle to Infiniti where I was told they werent going to pay for the replacement because my car is out of warranty. Not happy with that I was given the telephone # to Infiniti customer care dept. After going back and forth they insisted that there was nothing they could do because I was no longer under warranty. When I asked for a copy of my original warranty, an explanation of how this could happen, how this is not considered a manufacturers defect, and what preventative maintenance should I have done to avoid this. They told me that they would not give my anything in writing other than they weren't going to pay or take any reponsibility because my vehicle was no longer under warranty. I will have no choice but to take this to litigation but I felt a need and responsibility to report this incident so that it could be addressed. If there is anyting else I need to do please let me know.
As I came to a stop sign one day and began to proceed driving, my car cut off when I pressed the accelerator and the steering wheel locked. As weeks went by the same problem began to happen more frequently. Now each time I come to a stop and proceed to drive, the car will cut off if I don't hurry up and push down hard on the gas peddle. This is dangerous as my car almost cut off several times while attempting to cross through an intersection with oncoming traffic. Everyday now when I come to a red light or a stop sign I have to make sure to hit the gas peddle extra hard to keep the car from cutting off on me. I believe this is a problem with the cam shaft. I did some research on the model infinity that I have, and I found that the 2005 and 2006 models were recalled for this same problem of the car cutting off.

The dash board is sticky and melting and causing glare on the windshield. Last complaint has incorrect VIN .
I own a 2007 Infiniti G35 coupe. In August 2013, while driving at approximately 40 mph, the engine stalled without warning. This occurred in the middle lane of I-95 rush hour traffic. The power steering was out as well but I was able to pull my car to the shoulder. The vehicle was unable to restart after multiple attempts and was towed to the a repair facility. They were able to start the car with next morning without issue. Ran diagnostics and no code was indicated. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. In July 2014, while increasing driving speed from approximately 20 mph - 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning and the power steering failed as well. The vehicle was able to restart after multiple attempts.
Top of dashboard melting and creating a glare.
I was pulling out of a parking space - put car from reverse into drive - engine suddenly raced to red line. My foot was not on the accelerator at this moment. Even with maximum pressure on brake pedal car moved forward to other parked cars and would not return to idle. I turned off ignition. Car stopped 12 inches from a parked car. When restarted, car behaved normally and I have been unable to reproduce incident. Very dangerous problem!.
Vehicle momentarily lost power and dash instrument lights went on (slip, vdc off, service engine soon). The ipdm (intelligent power distribution module) was replaced by the dealer in December 2011 for the same problems. My research revealed that this is a common problem with this model and year. Separately, high mount rear stop light no longer works. Research indicates this is also a common problem.
Controls for audio, including on steering wheel, and controls for temp do not work. This car was made one month after cut off date for recall on this component. I would like to get this repair from Infiniti at no charge.
Since I bought my G35 coupe, I've been having problems with my driver side window, currently stopped working, it wouldn't go down. It would be my 4th time I replaced window motor, is not cheap. Out of nowhere my window go down when is closed, water gets in when raining. Then when finally I get to close the window, it would not go down. Infiniti needs to make this problem an official recall and replace all the window motors. I love my car, I dont know what else to do. I cannot afford paying for new window motor. Please help me and all Infiniti owners. Thanks.

I have a 2005 Infiniti G35x. I have owned it since approximately 50k miles. Friday night, on my way driving from DC to NY, the ac got stuck at 90 degrees, and in auto mode, the backlight for the instrument cluster went completely dead, and the stereo went out completely. I have no control over any of these 3 devices. Since I live on the east coast and all the dealerships in the area are closed, I called one in riverside, CA - riverside Infiniti. They said the stereo is dead and they've seen the problem "countless times" (quote). I made a posting on several Infiniti forums on the internet requesting advice. The consensus is the same - stereo is bad. I feel that the instrument cluster and my hvac should never be connected to the stereo as this is a major safety concern. Also, since this is a common problem, Infiniti should issue a recall/TSB.
Per G35 sedan recall my '. . . Audio and temperature controls may, on occasion, not operate as expected. . . . ". My equipment failed multiple times. There is a voluntary recall for this problem on the G35 sedan but not the G35 coupe. The mfg'r. States that coupe is not covered even though I have the same problem. My G35 has/had the identical problem and they replaced my circuit board at a cost of $649. 88 (parts and labor). I believe the G35 coupe should have same recall as the G35 sedan.
The hvac controls on my G35 intermittently stop working making it impossible to operate the air or defroster. There was a recall associated with this but Infiniti refuses to repair the vehicle.
The dashboard in my car started melting sometime back while under warranty. It is sticky, gives a shine under sun and cannot be cleaned. Repeated requests to the dealer were turned down blaming the issue on the hot weather. I have another vehicle Honda odyssey under the same conditions which doesn't have this issue. This is a manufacturer's defect. Please help resolve my issue.
I have a 2004 Infiniti G35 sedan. My audio failed and a/c stuck . . . The same problem they voluntarily repaired in 2003. (service bulletin #03007a and NHTSA item #10001253) it is caused by a failure of the audio finisher circuit board. Because of this, I am unable to turn on the window defroster and have difficulty seeing through the windshield when there is condensation due to certain weather conditions. When I brought my car to the dealership in roseville where I bought it, they said they would check on it but knowing there was only 10 days until my extended warranty was up, they never followed up. I have seen many 2004 owners on line with the same problem but Nissan/Infiniti don't seem to care. This is definitely a safety issue as my windshield fogs up when I drive to work, which is always early since I am a nurse and af reservist.

Dash panel that controls the stereo, cd, heater, ac, etc does not function properly. The ac does not shut off, whereas all the other devices does not turn on.
