I was driving at about 65 mph on the tail end of a roughly 2 hour trip. The car shut off on me completely. Fortunately there weren't many cars on the road, so I was able to force the steering wheel - since power steering went out as well, I needed to turn the wheel forcefully - to the shoulder. The brakes worked ok, but not well, again because the engine shut off, so I was forcing the brakes and they took a lot longer to work than normally. Had there been normal to heavy traffic, I'd definitely have been in a very bad crash. The vehicle is available for inspection if needed. This is the second time this situation has occurred to me in this vehicle. There was no warning lamp, message, or symptom prior to or after the incident. A dealer, manufacturer, police, insurance, nor anyone else has inspected or reproduced the problem. Various Infiniti online forums reference the same issue.

My car was slowing down and jerked in and out of first gear ive been having this problem for motnths I looked on Infiniti forum and seen itb12-027d and Infiniti will not fix my car I almost hit someone car due to the car driving really weird ! and swerved and hit a curb instead this is ridiculous im also reporting this to the bbb as well because plenty of people are reporting this as an issue with this years transmission and engine and they arent doing anything to fix it but throw prices at their customers for the to fix tehe problem themselves.
Two weeks after having my G37 serviced at the las vegas dealership the engine shut down while driving on the freeway at full speed. The car rapidly lost power and speed. The gas peddle was unresponsive and after decelerating, the car would only move forward at very slow speed. A major accident was avoided only through the quick actions of trailing traffic which had to slam on their brakes. After towing back to the dealership they reported the heater hose failed. Their vehicle inspection report provided to me two weeks early reported the heater hoses and connectors where inspected and did not require replacement. When I questioned this they stated it was a plastic part within the heater hose that failed and they don't check that. I consulted the maintenance manual for the car and at now mileage or time point does Infiniti recommend replacing the hose. I have had this car serviced at an infinity dealership every 7,500 miles since bought new. At no time did they ever recommend replacing the hose. This may be more of a safety issue with Infiniti's service program than the car. But the car computers response to the condition also but driver safety at risk.

On the sunny and dry morning of December 9, 2020, I proceeded to alpine cemetery, perth amboy, NJ to honor my mother's grave site and her anniversary. As I passed the gate entrance to the cemetery, I turned right; as I have always done in previous years. Once I turned to the right I noticed that there was a burial procession, with the funeral hearse obstructing the entire vehicle path. Since I could not drive forward, the only recourse I had was to turn around and find another vehicle path. Once I had taken the new path, which I believe would lead me to my mother's grave site, I realized that I could not reach her grave site since it was further up the new path. Once I turned the vehicle to the left; the vehicle went automatically backwards then forwards with the sensation of taking off the ground like an airplane. I had no control of the vehicle and the vehicle proceeded automatically hitting numerous tomb stones until one tomb stone stopped the vehicle. This failure occurred numerous times until a 3ft tomb stone stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the car repair shop, instructed by njm insurance; vnf auto body 732-321-6919, 20 prospect street, metuchen NJ 08840.

Nissan and Infiniti oil gallery gasket problem* it's ridiculous how Nissan and Infiniti have not come forward with a statement about this notorious problem. It's an utter shame how a company does not recognize their failures in their cars. Some Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are equipped with a paper material gallery gasket that tends to fail at any given moment it does not matter the mileage nor the age of the vehicle it's bound to happen regardless. Nissan/Infiniti silently changed the gallery gasket in some pre-2012 production cars to a more reinforced gallery gasket made out of metal part # of gasket: 13533-jk21b - small lower gasket, 13533-jk21a - large upper gasket. Vehicles affected 350z 370z g35 G37 fx35 fx45. Moreover, this problem is inevitable!! cars equipped with the faulty part can put many at risk of an accident of any sort. Not just that, but the burden of the costly labor that goes to replacing the part. It's time for Nissan to pay their part and fix our cars!.
The vehicle has started to stutter upon taking off and shows signs of power loss. After much investigation, these G37s have a minor defect that causes the engines to run on low oil pressure. The part gallery gasket is the culprit that causes these engines to, in bad cases, last only up to 100k miles. Everywhere online there are Infiniti owners talking about this gallery gasket problem and few of them have had to buy a replacement engine because of it. Infiniti has failed to come forward with a solution to reduce the amount of oil related problems in these cars. As mentioned, this is a minor defect with the vq37 engines but with an outcome that can cost thousands of dollars to either fix or replace. A simple google search of g37 gallery gasket will bring many pages of owners with the exact same problem trying to give each other advice. There are many videos online showing what an owner must go through in order to fix their daily drivers. It would only be right for Infiniti to come forward and offer at least free labor to fixing these cars when the symptoms first start. That way owners can keep driving without worrying that their engines will go out due to a bad gallery gasket. The G37 is very reliable in all other aspects besides the gallery gasket. Owners can only hope that the proper steps are taken in order to avoid the problems the gallery gasket brings.

Between 40-50 mph, on a busy rural highway, the car would occasionally (once in 3 months) go into limp mode. This problem is now occurring weekly! you cannot accelerate more 2,000 rpms when this happens. You can manually shift the transmission to a higher gear to get to a safe spot to pull over. However, it feels like the transmission might fall out of the car when shifting. Most of the time, when you cut the car off and restart it, it runs as normal. It's like the computer resets. As of late, I have to cut the car off and restart twice. This is beginning to happen more frequently, like once or twice a week. We have consulted with a dealer, and have tried several recommendations. We have new air filters and mas air sensors. This did not correct the problem. After further investigation, we found a dealership who admitted that they have seen or heard of this problem. The service advisor said that this could be a transmission issue. We have an appointment on 12-13-2019 with this dealership.
My car was cutting off and over heating but it eventually locked up on me when I was driving on the highway.
Infiniti needs to recall the timing chain galley gaskets. My 2009 G37xs sedan recently blew the galley gaskets and it seems as if this is a common problem and is a very expensive fix. Recall this issue please I always use 93 gas. Always use mobil 1 full synthetic oil, and always do all maintenance on the car on time. I'm shocked and aggravated that this issue happened and Infiniti did not recall it.
The vehicle was in motion and would not enter 3rd or 4th gear. When I brought it into the retailer they said I needed transmission valve body replaced at a cost of $3000. The car only has 55,000 miles on it. What would cause this?.
Around 6am on 4/13/19 me and my family and neighbors were awoken by an explosion in the front end of my vehicle. . We called the fire dept and they ruled it as an electrical problem. . I noticed that all the sensor lights in the dash would blink and the airbag sensor light was going off that evening prior to the incident. . I didnt think much of it. . I was planning on taking it to a mechanic that morning but it caught on fire. . Its a total loss. The fire fighters had to cut the hood open in half to get to the fire in the engine compartment. . Its not fair. . I had just bought that car. . And I loved my infinity. . Luckily I wasnt injured or anyone else. The vehicle was parked in the street. . I need my car for work , school and on a regular basis. Please help me.
Please recall this car because I established a car engine problem at Infiniti miami center. The car was sold to me by a liar from a dealership. He sold a car without any problems. But less then one month it shows the big problem. I have all proofs. The car is dangerous to drive. If you recall the car it can save my life, my family lives and other drivers. Please help me. While I was driving the car was just stopped at the road. I was very scared. Something very dangerous with the car. And the car sometimes lower its speed to extremely low. And I need to start up the car to start driving again. And the dealership refused to help me. He steal my money and get me off from their office. Very rude and not trustful dealership. I wish to return the car to them and take my money back. It's a fraud happened to me! on infinity center told me it's extremely dangerous to drive that car. And it's not start up often, or changed its speed very fast.

I have experience two occasions during stop and go traffic where the engine will rev up and accelerate. On those occasions I had to press the brakes hard to avoid hitting the car in front of me. I also changed gears to neutral. During both times I was in stop and go traffic moving forward. . . Not turning. I also tried using the cruise control. Was traveling in a toll road in motion. Had difficult setting once cruise control was on. . . It mysteriously shut off. This was not weather related as it was a hot clear day and I was traveling the speed limit of 80.
When parking the vehicle and getting out with the keys in hand and not out turning off the engine, there is not some type of warning so that one doesn't leave a running car in a closed garage. I know that this is the drivers fault but it has happened to me twice and to a couple in highland park, ill that were asphasticated and died from this type of occurrence. I have talked to niasian us headquarters twice and they informed me that they do not accept an unrequested consumer comment and that they would not consider and/or look into this type of occurrence. Even though there has been deaths due to this.
I was coming out from the freeway at the traffic light the car completely shutdown, and it will not start. First I called for aaa to tow it, once he came the driver checked the battery and he told me the battery was fine, then he told me the engine is gone. And then I called the dealer to check if this is a recall, or anything and I was told the power train was expired. I have no indication of any heating, or any engine lights, everything was working fine. I do the maintenance as recommended by infinity book. The this vehicle has low mileage 2009 year made and I don't drive much. I searched online and there are so many people suffer exactly like me.
My mother was driving her (2013) Infiniti G37 on a city street when the car suddenly and unexpectedly turned off. She tried to restart it without any success and turn on her hazard lights, but the entire electric system had shut down for no apparent reason. She was very scared because cars were honking at her and after flagging down a police officer (30 minutes later), the car mysteriously turned back on. When she took it to the dealership, they did a quick computer check and told her nothing was wrong. And they said they had never heard of this happening even though my mother told them that she found several complaints on the internet recounting this same problem with this particular model of Infiniti. We also reported this to the Infiniti customer affairs department and they said they would look into it.
Stopped at a traffic light. Car in drive & foot on brake pedal. Engine suddenly revs up to over 3000 rmp and car wants to lunge forward. Very difficult to hold car from lunging into car in front. Put gear shift into neutral to prevent an accident. This same thing has occurred on 11/1/2013 and 12/23/2013. Reported to dealer & Nissan. No help.
When engine is started it occasionally revs to 4000-5000 rpm and remains there for about 5-7 seconds before slowing down to a normal idle speed. The occurrences are becoming more frequent. When acting normally, the engine starts and revs to about 2000 rpm and then slows to idle speed in about 1-2 seconds. The danger of the high revs for 5-7 seconds is that if the driver is not fully aware of the engine's speed, he could shift the car into gear and the car would accelerate, perhaps hitting nearby cars, house, out the garage door, etc. I had such an incident and was barely able to hold the car in place with full force on the brakes. The dealer has stated that he is unaware of any service bulletins concerning this issue, but if I would bring it in, they would check the settings on the engine control. In my opinion, this is a very serious situation akin to the Toyota unexpected acceleration problem and infinti needs to develop first an acknowledgment of the problem and then a solution.
Car buck and stop accelerate. Then will not go in to low gears or six gear.
While stopping vehicle, braking became non-responsive and engine began racing. Vehicle was extremely difficult to stop completely. After taking foot off of brake pedal, vehicle lunged forward as if accelerator pedal was fully depressed. This has occured on 12/9/12 , 12/10/12, 12/15/12. Infiniti has not corrected problem. This rapid acceleration / non-responsive braking has caused two (2) near miss accidents.
Infiniti G37, after warm usually more then 30min of driving will intermittently go into low and high acceleration on its own. As if you are braking with your left foot and then giving it gas on and off with right foot. My wife has also described complete loss of power when the condition occurs and she tries to accelerate. She feels it could be a dangerous combination if it happens at the wrong time. We did schedule for a service appointment and hope this will help others with similar condition.
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that while parked she depressed the accelerator pedal but noticed the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle rolled slightly and upon depressing the brake pedal the pedal was locked and would not respond. After restarting the vehicle three different times the vehicle resumed acceleration and braking capability. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000. Updated 12/13/lj the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer on 11/5/12. A diagnostic test by the dealer indicated a problem with the relay system. A part was replaced. Updated 12/13/12.
Identical dents/scratches on either side of panel cause by design flaw and experienced by many owners after about 3 or 4 k miles. Dealer has failed to respond to my complaint. Harte Infiniti, hartford, CT. I have also tried to send formal complaint to Infiniti official headquarters but cannot confirm that they received it. Not a problem that would cause injury but a cosmetic issue that infinity should address and recall for permanent fix.
This has been happening on multiple occasions. Whenever I am driving and I try to stop, sometimes the engine increases while braking. It has happened about 4 times near a stop sign when I am driving 20mph, and in the highway driving 55-60mph. This is a serious issue and can cause an accident. I am taking it to the dealership on Wednesday so they can either issue a lemon or fix the issue. I am very unhappy with this problem. I searched online and some people have been having the same issue and dealers telling them "there is nothing wrong".
While stopped at a parking lot exit prior to turning, my foot was on the brake and the engine started racing. The car started rolling forward even with the brakes firmly applied. I put the car in park, but the engine continued to race. I turned the car off. I restarted the car, and the engine ran normally. A similar incident happend to me in the same car about a year and a half ago in a parking lot. The engine started racing while backing up. I put the car in park and turned the engine off. The car ran fine when I re-started the car.
As I was waiting to cross a major highway junction in upper marlboro, MD, I almost had a collision after crossing the highway due to what I suspect a faulty transmission with hesitation in shifting. There was a SUV waiting to turn and while I had the right of way, they pulled off and as my chance to cross the 2 lane highway, they did too. I punched the gas and in the middle of the road, the engine took a few seconds to get into gear so I literally was in the road of oncoming traffic that was driving at speeds in excess of 55+ mph. It happened within 5 seconds but after I crossed avoiding a front and side collision, I pulled off the road because I was shaking. Other instances while driving at highway speeds that I pull into the left hand lane to pass a car in front of me and the engine is slow to respond as it accelerates from a low gear resulting in a lagging sound/ reading of the tach jumping around as I'm nearly hit from behind because the cars hesitation in accelerating. I'm also hearing the engine rev up with no take off, shifting in drive sport (ds) mode is not responsive and even using the paddle shifters isn't any better. I feel this car is going to be a detriment if Infiniti doesn't address the problem with the 7 speed at. It happens under light acceleration on the 3-4 or/and 5-6 upshift. I even smelled the engine after I got out of the car after driving to the store that was in medium/ light traffic about 20 minutes.

Leased the vehicle back on 2010 of October. 6 months later I had issues with acceleration on 4 different occasions at all times of the day. Even when foot is lightly pushed on the gas pedal car rpm revs from 1 to 7 quickly. Uncomfortable since you don't know when to accelerate hard or soft. Scary when driving short distance with stop and go motion. Engine at times is unpredictable. Car also shut down on me several times while driving on busy roads. Car is only 1 1/2 years old. This issue needs to be investigated.
I have 38 pages of service regarding a starting problem. When the car is started with the ac on, it cranks but will not start. There have been 6 battery replacements, one 6 months after the car was purchased and 5 in the last 5 years. Within the last week and a half it has needed 4000 in repairs. A valve assembly, control and now an engine control module. The car was brought in dozens of times and the problem never fixed. Would be happy to provide all of the paperwork.
My 2009 Infiniti GX 37x lost power without warning. The mph went from 50 down to 30 in seconds, the rpms would not go above 1500. Acceleration failed. Power steering and braking still worked. I had to pull over and restart the engine. The first time this happened was July 2009 and the dealership said not to worry, that it was probably an isolated incident and to bring it in if it happened again. If something happens once, I can reason it away. But, twice? this is a major safety issue and Infiniti needs to issue a recall ASAP. Driving conditions have no factor and this problem strips the driver of any control of the vehicle. The dealership did a "reflash" or ecu update and said that a similar problem occured on a "m" model. I am not convinced this has solved the problem. I am terrified of driving this car.
