Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator Problems of Infiniti I30

Air bag light flashing, dealership indicated "a very common problem" for this year and make infiniiti . Well a common problem to me seems like it should be a recall. I was told by dealership that it would over $1000 does this have anything to do with takata inflators that have been recalls on millions of cars but just skipped this year and make? I was told airbag will still deploy, well I was involved in a front end accident, air bag did not deploy! this is a real concern, this needs to be investigated, and recall implemented before someone dies as a result!.

"takata recall". . . . I received an airbag safety recall back in oct 2013. I took the car to kuni westside inifiniti, lynnwood, wa. . . . They completed the recall with inflator -air bag, as-k8e61-7994d. I am unaware as to which air bag was replaced. Recently the air bag indicator light on the dashboard started flashing. I called the dealership and was informed that there was no recent recall, just the one back in 2013. They informed me to make an appointment and they would check it out. . . The dealership is approx 80 miles away from my home. I am 88 yrs old and I have yet to take it in. . . . What is the "flashing light" telling me???.

Concerns NHTSA recall 13v-136 rel ates to possible defective air bag inflator. Infinity states that replacement will only be made at an infinity retailer we live in missoula, montana and the nearest infinity retailer is in spokane wa over 200 miles from our home. We do have a very good Nissan dealership who has made all of our necessary repairs since we have owned this vehicle. Infinity is a division of Nissan north America and it should be arranged that this recall be arranged at our local Nissan dealership located less than 1 mile from our home. Missoula Nissan is the sales and service local dealership, phone 406 549 5178. Infinity needs to make arrangements for this location to make the necessary replacement parts for this recall.
