The vehicle was taken to the dealer to install the new tires, and the contact was informed that the rims on the vehicle were 17-inch rims. The vehicle was purchased at a carmax dealer, and the contact asked why the 17-inch rims on the vehicle. The contact was informed that the ride would be better with the 17-inch rims and tires. The rims were not replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
