Driving 30 mph in manhattan new york came to a red light pressed brake pedal felt no brakes pumped brakes felt like there was little to no braking abs light came on so did brake light ran through the red thank god no cars where I front of me ,eventually stopped pulled aside then turned vehicle off and then on the brakes worked fine took it to straight to mechanic because I didn't feel safe driving the truck . He said everything looked fine your brake pads rotors fluid levels and tires are in good condition he connects his scan tool and said he didn't find any codes . I told him to keep the car drive it until he could figure out the problem 1 week after he calls me and said he was driving about 25 mph in brooklyn new york and the brake light abs light came on then he had no brakes told me it felt as if he was driving on ice he then scanned the car when he got back to the shop and said it had a code dtc c1179 advised me to take it to Infiniti to get it diagnosed because it's a serious and potentially deadly problem. Called Infiniti north America hotline and was told there were no recalls for this serious problems they told me take it to the dealership to have them service the car so now I have to drive a car with brake maybe working or maybe not working to have the dealership potentially overcharge me to fix a manufacturers defect that they know about I'm happy that I was in brooklyn driving only 25 -30 per without my children in the car. I live in jersey and normally on the highway driving (50-65 depending on posted speed limits if this brake problem happened omg . I read up on the code and found numerous vehicles compliants about this dangerous brake problem. C1179 delta stroke sensor Nissan titan. Nissan armada and Infiniti Qx56 2004 - aprox 2010 they need to issue a recall to make these vehicles safe to drive.
Every once in a while, seemingly after slow driving where there are many stop signs not too far apart, the brake light comes on, the brake pedal weakens and brake system makes a rattling noise when the pedal is pressed. Then I turn off the vehicle and restart it and all is back to normal until the next time, can be days or sometimes weeks.
When driving, the brake light comes on for no reason and causes the brakes to work inappropriately. It becomes very hard to brake. The brakes seem to fall through and there is a grinding sound from the brakes. If I turn the vehicle off, and then back on it works fine. Then it happens again sparatically.
I am having brake issues with my 2005 Infiniti Qx56. The brake light keeps coming on and it makes a grinding noise. It is also very hard to get it to come to a stop. Just yesterday, I almost could not get the vehicle to stop at a red light. I am also having an issue with the fuel gauge. I have run out of fuel 3 times and each time the the gauge is showing between 1/2 and 1/4 full. Back in September of 2017 we were on a major highway. All of a sudden we lost power and we were going 70 miles an hour. We were in the passing lane and we lucky to get over to the side of the road. We were almost in a severe accident. I have researched both issues online. I know that there have been recalls on these issues. When I called Infiniti about this, I was told that there was in fact recalls but my vehicle was not on the recall list. Obviously, if I am having issues with both of the things and there have been recalls on both of them, my vehicle should be on this recall list. I something needs to be done about this before people are severely injured or worse.
After driving in stop and go traffic, slow speed with many stops, the brake pedal loses power and begins to pulsate. When this happens, the emergency brake light illuminates on the dashboard. Turming the vehicle on/off seems to reset the car and the issue is resloved.
Brake shudder - severely reduced braking power. Brake light comes on dash. This is random. Happened twice more on way to work, approximately 50 mph,on I-40 exit ramp and 30 mph on a side road. Turning off vehicle and back on resets this. But it randomly happens again. I am fearful in this vehicle. I called dealer and they said they are unaware of issue. A google search reveals a class action lawsuit on this subject.
While driving my 2005 Infiniti Qx56 I noticed I have to press down harder on my brakes to come to a stop. At one point the brakes go all the way to the floor and the brake light illuminates. I know I don't need brake pads because they were replaced 2 months ago. I have also had my brake booster assembly replaced so I know it is not that. I don't know what to do because I keep having issues with this vehicle.
50000 miles on it at moment and for the last 3 years my Infiniti looses brake power. Last week I almost ran on a vehicle with my 6 month old son riding with me. Once the vehicle comes to complete stop after a while and once the engine is turned off and restarted the problem goes away. When it happens theres a huge grinding noise and brake pedal shakes very badly as if theres no brake on the car. Above all the vehicle has all good brakes. The brake light comes on too when this happens . As mentioned once engine is turned off and restarted everything woeks normal. I googled online and so many people with similar models have these issues. Most important the dealer doesnt ackwoleges it and says there no recall . I beleive they waiting once someonr does before they will take action. I hope some action can be taken about his killing matter.
While driving the brake light comes on and then the brakes start grabbing the rotors. I have to stop cut the car off then restart the vehicle to reset the brake light it has happen at least 10 times. Dealership kept the car for 3 weeks sill couldn't fix the problem dangerous for me and my family. . . . . . .
I have a 2005 Nissan infinity Qx56 and had the brake light come on yesterday followed by the limited braking, shuttering and pulsing of the brake pedal. . Almost hit a car. Maybe because of faulty and defective delta stroke sensor.
I have a 2005 Qx56. This loss of brake happens to me many time, brake light will come on while driving and if you push the brake you will hear a loud grinding noise, and pedal goes to the floor. Turn off engine and start it again it will be good again, its intermitent, you dont know when will it happen, so I always look on my dash for the brake light while driving so I know that its doing it again. I was told it was the brake booster. Very unsafe! there needs to be a recall.
Random instances of brake light coming on followed by limited braking, shuttering and pulsing of the brake pedal. A common and known issue affecting Qx56, armadas and titans from the mid 2000's that Nissan refuses to acknowledge. A serious safety concern that needs to be addressed.
The brakes make a grinding noise and the car sounds as if the brakes are going out. I also have had the vdc light and brake light on as well during all this. And when it happens it keeps happening till you turn the car off and on and then it goes away. But has happened at least 15 to 20 times and seems to be happening more and more. Quite scary when you have a family and your on the interstate and you have to turn the car off and on for it to go away.
I am having problems with my brake light coming on, and the brakes are grinding and scrubbing everytime I place my feet on the brake.
Brake problem usually occurs after a turn when accelerating to about 20 to 30 mph. Steering wheel began to vibrate when pressure is applied to the brakes, brake dash lights comes on and the brake pedal pulsates and goes all the way to the floor. Sounds also are heard from the front brakes (rubbing and grinding). The vehicle will barely stop when this happens. Thank god we are not going at a high rate of speed when this occurs, if so, we would not be able to stop the truck in time. Problem always stops after we pull over and put the vehicle in park and turn the engine off. This has occurred on many occasions with recently several incidents in one week, otherwise it happens about once a month. We are afraid that the problem is getting worse and may lead to an accident. We love the vehicle but just want the repairs made before something happens. Also, the airbag light recently came on as well. Question; are there recalls on these problems?.
Vehicle was purchased used in December 2009. Started noticing brake squealing & grinding, front & rear brakes had to be replaced in February 2012. After brakes were replaced there was an incident backing out of a driveway while braking, had only 20% brakes with loud grinding noise, but no warning lights came on. Decided to replace rotors after that incident in March 2012. On April 9th while leaving a grocery store parking lot going approx. 15mph, emergency brake like came on, 95% of brakes were lost, loud grinding noise when trying to brake. Car put into park & turned off. When truck was turned back on & brake pedal depressed while in park position, brakes seemed normal again. Put truck into drive & seconds later the emergency brake light came back on & 95% of braking system was lost again with loud grinding noise. Coasted vehicle home (less than 1/4 mile). Had vehicle towed to Infiniti dealer who is recommending replacing the brake booster system at a cost of $1,100. After much research on this issue, replacing the brake booster system sounds like a temporary fix. With a family of 7, this is our main family vehicle & knowing this could reoccur at any moment even after the brake booster system is replaced is very unsettling. The Infiniti dealer is claiming they never heard of another issue like this & they replaced 3 brake booster systems in 4 years. I find this extremely hard to believe, as I was able to print over 30 pages of reported incidents with this same issue. We meet with the dealer tomorrow to decide if we want to pay to have this fixed. If we knew this would guarantee the issue would be resolved & not at any moment we would lose our brakes, it wouldn't be an issue. This is beyond frustrating & scary. Infiniti should make this an immediate recall to prevent further tragedy & stop telling customers this is the first time hearing of this issue!.
Slip brake alert lighted on the dashboard followed by grinding brake noise and vehicle stopped. This happened multiple times and the scary thing is, I always have my whole family in this SUV every weekend.
Brakes become mushy during application with a lose of about 50-75% of their power. Brake lights on the dash light up. Cars antilock brakes are activated. Car is very delayed in braking even at slow speeds. The problem is resolved after the car comes to a complete stop, is placed in park, and turned off then back on. The problem has occurred only once; almost causing a wreck at a traffic light. I was able to quickly move into an adjacent lane to avoid a collision. The problem was thought to be a delta sensor and brake booster. The dealership was not positive this was the correct fix, but they claimed to have flashed several other delta sensors in an attempt to correct the issue. The problem has not been resolved. The delta sensor was found to be faulty according to the dealer. The part would have to be ordered and replaced at another time.
Brake problem usually occurs when driving at different speeds, even when backing-up. Steering wheel began to vibrate when pressure is applied to the brake pedal, brake dash lights comes on and the brake pedal pulsates and goes all the way down, you can hear sound from the front brakes, rubbing and grinding like it needs new brake pads the vehicle feels like it has no brakes and is hard to stop. This occurred on many occasions, we only use this sub on the weekends is our family car and sometimes it happens every weekend, the problem can be fix temporarily by stoping the vehicle put it on park turn-off the engine remove the key, turned back-on and it resets the brake system. But this problem has created to many incidents were accidents were barely avoid, we are afraid to drive the vehicle because is very scary when it happens and it may lead to an accident with the hole family. We just want Infiniti/Nissan to make this an immediate recall to prevent further tragedy do to the danger of this malfunction and complaints that I am sure people are posting every day to the Infiniti dealers and to NHTSA. Thank you for you concern.
At approximately 2,000 miles there was an uncontrollable shaking when applying brake pressure. This problem got worse. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, who noted the need for new rotors. The rotors were replaced at 2,000 miles. About two months later, the problem returned and again took vehicle to the dealer. The dealer said there was a design flaw with the braking system, but the vehicle would be safe to drive. The consumer was driving at a low speed and when applying brake pressure there was a horrible sound as if they were grinding. The red brake light illuminated on the dash panel. When this occurred, 75% of braking capacity was lost. The consumer pulled over, and called husband, leaving the vehicle behind for roadside assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for corrections. The dealer felt the braking system was not heavy duty enough for this model. The dealer did some additional work to the brakes. A month later, the problem resurfaced. The vehicle was due for maintenance, and it was taken to the dealer, who suspected the anti lock brakes. Malfunctioned. The dealer consulted Infiniti to speak to an engineer about the problem and for advice. Some corrections were made. Later, the same situation occurred with the grinding noise and loss of brake capacity as well as the light . The dealer could not duplicate the problem.
