1 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2011 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

Engine is making loud whining noise and jerks. Noise is heard when the truck starts and is on iddle. There was a service bulletin issued in 2016 itb16-015. We were never notified of this campaign. When calling infinity corporate they denied fixing the issue because they could not see the maintenance record for the truck since it was not taken to an infinity dealer. The truck gets maintenance from other places like jiffy lube etc. Our claim was denied they said the campagin expired in February 2018.

2 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2013 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 10/22/2019

Loud whistling/whining sound from the motor at start up. Extreme loss of power when starting up a grade or to get up to speed on the interstate causing fear of rear end collision. It appears to be a common issue with this vehicle that results in a timing chain or catalytic converter repair, costing several thousand dollars. It appears Infiniti is aware of the problem but won't issue a recall for obvious reasons. This vehicle is now virtually inoperable as it is not safe to be on the road until it is fixed.

3 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2012 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 01/22/2016

Infiniti Qx56 2012 with 100,000 miles started making whining noise at start-up and the engine would run and sputter within 7k miles of a full synthetic oil change. Called dealership after working with local mechanic and they know their is a bulletin on this vehicle that requires and new timing chain be installed. Seems this is almost a 100% fail rate and just is a matter when versus if this will fail. Speaking to Infiniti and Nissan they will not cover one dime of this $4,500 repair even though this is a manufacturing latent defect. I spoke to two dealerships and they do between 30-40 of these $4,500 repairs a month. . . This is simply criminal that there is not a recall on this issue. This is a high luxury vehicle and to have this issue is a crime. Thanks.
