The whole upper control arm came off due to the recall on the right upper suspension in the front. . . I reported this when it happened may 2022 and no response or help from the Jaguar company by that time I could not afford to get it out of impound because I was in the parking lot of the government post office right by the evansville police station.

Following was sent to us customs. I'm at risk in this car, by Jaguar design error-and refusal to correct the error. Ken berg (949 )830 6888 in my case the car suddenly and spontaneously, without apparent reason, went into what Jaguar calls ¿limp home¿ mode, a walking pace. Fortunately it happened on an urban parkway, posted at 55 mph, and I had just turned right, on to it, into the right-hand lane. The problem is common to Jaguar cars as shown by internet postings. Jaguar have stated that limp home cannot be disabled because it is intended for the safety of the mechanical parts of their cars. I have a string of communications running from November 2nd that I could send to provide greater detail, but I¿d like to know what you folks can do, and whether there are good legal ground to support my demands. I have made this initial contact with us customs because Jaguar exports cars to the us with unstable computer systems compromising their safety and I believe that you connect with NHTSA. But my problem is immediate and I¿d like some assurance that my case will be dealt with quickly, and that I can be in contact with a person that I can send further material to. Attached is initial letter to jlr. At their request I contacted jlr north America in mah wah NJ. (Jaguar Land Rover north America executive case: 8000216414 / your 2006 S-type. ) they sent me on to local dealers. All have stated they won¿t disable the limp home mode because it protects the mechanical parts of the car . . . (and puts humans at risk as a result). They have been as capricious in dealing with my complaint as they have been with the careless design of their limp home mode! I think jlr has failed the u. S. Import regulations and would like cbp to order them to disable the limp home mode.

I purchased this 2007 Jaguar S-type in Nov 2013. Approximately 1 month ago I started having an issue with the electronic parking brake not releasing itself when the car was shifted out of the "park" position. It takes a good 15-20 minutes of driving the vehicle and applying the brakes several times before the electronic parking brake will disengage itself. It has gotten to the point now that the brake pads have worn to the point of initial grinding noise being heard, which is a clear indicator of excessive wear. I did some research online a couple of nights ago, so as to confirm if there have been any Jaguar S-type "recalls" for this type of problem, and in fact found that there have been many reported instances of them for this exact problem. In fact, the problem can escalate itself if the electronic parking brake were to engage itself on its own while the car is in motion, causing the rear brakes/tires to lock up. . . . . An obvious safety issue. The recall numbers are r166 and r167, but in contacting Jaguar corporate customer service, as well as a local Jaguar service dealership, I was informed that while my issue appears to be mirroring these prior recalls, there is not an actual recall currently "open" on the 2007 Jaguar S-type model year vehicle. This to me seems ridiculous. What should it matter what the manufactered year of the vehicle is? if the problem is the same problem as has occurred on prior year models, why wouldn't the existing recall/s simply be expanded to include the additional model year/s, 2007 in this case? any assistance/direction in regards to having this matter addressed that could possibly be sent my way would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, chris unrein.

While driving a loud noise came from the front the right front passenger side wheel sheared off. Driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and pulled over to the shoulder. Vehicle was towed to the dealer, and mechanic determined that the left and right upper and lower ball joints needed to be replaced.
I got a 2000 Jaguar S-type from authorized dealer ("select edition") condition on June 9, 2004. Son (driver) and his passenger were both belted July 2, 2004 during what he thought was a blowout. Car stopped perpendicular (after full spin) in opposite lane (facing east) from which it had been traveling (north). Wheel sheared from axle/hub on right front! car on bare right front axle! my husband and I were at scene in minutes, we rejoiced no one was killed! no oncoming traffic! seat belts were important as my son state he "just held on. " my husband recovered debris and sheared wheel placing same into trunk. One of these parts proved to be a broken brake, but not thinking of analytical issues at this point---just thankful that fatalities were not result. Unbending rain waiting for tow truck. The nc patrol arrived at about 11:30 pm as the car was being dragged onto a wrecker. They did not look at sheared wheel or rotor. The car was towed July 3 to the Jaguar dealership. I visited dealership on Monday, July 5th to take pictures when greg carleton (Jaguar service writer) showed me both sides of the wheel stating that "wear on the rims is what you'd expect" and "there's nothing you see that would have caused that wheel to come off. " he (mr. Carleton) picked up the brake rotor and held it like a knife over an obvious gash inside the right front wheel. It seemed clear that the part pierced the alloy wheel. Obvious in the light; we were in a quandary when it occurred. He called the next day July 6 to say that "all parts were covered" under warranty, that the factory would investigate the failure. Another person called on wed. July 7th and said "you may want to call your insurance company". Jaguar has shifted from their position to test parts. There was nothing: not a pothole, not another vehicle, but severe damage that was a result of part failure. I have requested Jaguar to leave all parts in the trunk of the car.
At 11 miles a small noise was there. I look at tires & saw nothing. After road trip told service tech and salesman. Was told rock in tire, at 53 mile noise came back. Called salesman, and general manager was told to bring it in to shop Monday. Paint has scratches threw out car paint.

While driving about 45 mph on the highway and without warning, the passenger's side wheel fell off, causing the vehicle to skid into the woods. The driver was able to control the vehicle and bring it to a complete stop into the driveway of a barn. There were no injuries, or fatalities.
Letter sent in response to the letter forwarded from lorraine gubernik with Jaguar cars dated Aug. 25. Consumer noticed a distinct shimmy in the steering wheel when the vehicle reached approx. 64 mph or greater. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealership for repairs along with other concerns. When the consumer picked up the vehicle, he noticed only one of the few items were addressed. The consumer made another appointment at which time the other minor problems were addressed. The shimmy in the steering wheel still existed. The mechanic then recommended driving it for a week letting the tires/car warm up hoping the shimmy would dissipate. The consumer agreed with the understanding that if it didn't work, he would take further steps to correct the problem. The shimmy didn't go away, in fact, it was occurring at speeds between the low 40's to mid 60's. New wheels were ordered and placed on the vehicle. This didn't correct the problem either. Consumer requested another Jaguar with all the same componets to replace his vehicle that he feels couldn't be repaired. The consumer was told the steering rack would be replaced, however the dealership continued to give the consumer the run a round regarding the availability of the part.
