My wife and I were driving along i94 and an suddenly and light vibration from the front right tire, and soon after, I say the tire crossing the highway. The whole contact are of the tire rip off the walls of the tire. Completely gone. Only the two outer walls remain attached to the rim. Tires installed by our Jaguar dealer and less than 10,000 miles. Tire separation, front tire with just 9786 miles.
Regular car operation on typical roads, all 4 tires bought 2007, 30,000 miles have inner wall axial cracks wide and deep all the way around the circumference of the tire and require immediate replacement before an accident happens.
Continental conti procontact tire - left front 2006 Jaguar sportwagon x type-failed on masspike. Aaa rep observed that tread separated . No road hazard. Replacement purchased and tire described as failure in "workmanship" 20k . Left front failure was identical to right front tire failure 5 weeks b/4. Thus 2 failure s at 20k miles and 19k miles. Fortunately going slow or could have been real problem. Replaced 2 tires at almost 200 a piece. One tire in my possession.
The contact owns a 2004 Jaguar X-type. While test driving the vehicle at 45 mph, the contact and the sales person heard an unfamiliar noise. He purchased the vehicle on March 23, 2007. The dealer performed alignments, changed the tires on three occasions; however, the noise continued. The failures began immediately after the vehicle was purchased. The dealer has made several attempts to repair the vehicle per the warranty. During a recent diagnosis, the contact and dealer observed that the drive shaft was falling off. The dealer stated that the bushings failed; however, they only received three bushings and were unable to state when the others would be available. The vehicle is currently parked due to the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was 47,000. Updated 07/29/08. The consumer stated the rear bushings are bad. The vehicle also pulled to th right. I have had 5 seprate blow outs hiting small pot holes at speeds of under 35 mph the side walls blew in all cases and in two cases the rims bent . A tire expert told me that the car is to heavy for the tire and rims !!.
All 4 tires are out of round, and the tread is separating. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. Size 225/45r17.
While driving at 45 mph and with no warning the right front passenger tire tread separated, causing the tire to b low out.
The vehicle hit something in the road which caused the rims to crush and the tires to deflate. The tires and rims were replaced and aligned. This happened twice before.
Problems with tires on 2003 Jaguar X-type. The vehicle hit a pot hole and the front tire went flat. The tire had a slit on the outside, slightly above the treads. Another tire had a buldge and was also replaced. One of the replacement tire was losing air. The consumer discovered that this tire also had a slit in the same place as the first two. The incident repeated again and the rim was dented.
Consumer experienced two spontaneous blowouts.
While driving over 55 mph there was severe vibration in the steering wheel. Dealer told the consumer to put different rims and tires on the vehicle. Consumer replaced the tires and rims, but the problem recurred.
