Takata recall. It is unacceptable that the parts necessary to make our car safe are not available and may not be until March 30th, 2019. That is over a year away. So for the next year we are supposed to drive our car and hope the passenger isn't killed by the air bag?.

I received a safety recall notice from the manufacturer dated February 28, 2018. It states that parts for the remedy won't be available until March 31, 2019. Due to the severity of the recall I don't believe this is a "reasonable timeframe" for a fix. What are my options or rights as a consumer that is concerned with the safety of my family?.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 Jaguar Xf. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 17v027000 (air bags) was received in January of 2017. The leather dash has separated from the back causing ridges in the leather up to 3/4" high. In the event of a crash this will prevent proper deployment of the airbag. The leather needs to be firmly attached and stretched tight for the stitching to rip correctly. If the leather is loose and ridged, the stitching will only partially rip and may prevent full airbag deployment into the cabin.

Takata recall - I am filing this complaint due to the poor handling of this recall by Jaguar corporate. On 7/29/16 we received a letter regarding the recall, and informed that they would be following up with a 2nd letter and instructions. On 12/6/16, no letter received, I called and s/w "kadar" in the corporate call center, and was told a letter would be received by "q4 2016". No letter received by 1/12/17, and I called and spoke with "kadar" again - and she offered me a "like for life" replacement - which meant replacing the faulty airbag with another faulty (but newer) airbag - takata supplier has not given them a date on when this will be available. I didn't hear anything back again. On 10/2/17, we reached out to Jaguar to find out the status. We were told that the airbags shipped to the dealers over 2 months ago, and ready to replace. I am frustrated with the poor communication on this. If we had not reached out today on this, we would have never known that the airbags were available for replacement. No one at the Jaguar corporate office seemed to concerned with this when I complained today. I just wanted to file an official complaint on the lack of communication and very poor handling of this situation by Jaguar. Thank god no one was hurt due to the delayed response by Jaguar.
Takata recall I received a recall on my 2010 Jaguar Xf (VIN# sajwa0gb8alr57993) for takata airbag replacement (program code: j069). When I called the honolulu Jaguar dealer they indicated that I would need to pay the shipping cost from my home on the island of hawaii to the island of oahu where the closest Jaguar dealer is located. That cost would be about $600. 00. Having my car repaired is important for the safety of my family. The letter sent by the dealer initially indicated that repair would be without charge. Do I have any recourse or can the NHTSA help me on this issue? vern yamanaka cell: 808-938-5213.

Takata recall_ contacted the jag dealership and they said just keep driving around in this death trap until the manufacturer can make enough to catch up. I'm on the road about 3 hrs a day for my job and this is very distressing. It might be years before they resolve this issue. Do we just continue to drive this death trap until someone gets killed?.
