I lately noticed your Jaguar recall for models Xf of 2013. It concerns fuel pump immediate shutoff when there is excess fuel pump amperage and a fuse trips to shut off the fuel pump. It cannot be reset until the fuse cools down, at least 20 minutes is reported. My car's VIN number is apparently over the specified coveerge period so #15v091000 recall does not apply to my 2013 car. At the time in looking for answers I found none. My event: this past summer I was driving to sudbury, MA at 10 p. M. My engine suddenly stopped on the full speed and more narrow curving entrance to the mass pike {from route 91 in connecticut}! I was stuck there for well over an hour, every so often trying to restart the car; to no avail. It finally cost me $400 to have the vehicle towed to the sudbury Jaguar dealer and left overnight for morning action. Surprise, the garage mechanic the next morning turned the key and the car started immediately. It had always started before the costly incident and has started immediately ever since. But there I was on a curve at night with 60 mph+ trucks and cars passing me every few seconds! an extremely dangerous situation. It was about 25 minutes before a state patrol trooper showed up with helpful blinking yellow lights. As a mechanical engineer and hobby auto mechanic there seems little doubt your fuel pump recall issue should have applied to my 2013 Jaguar Xf. Apparently my replacing the fuel pump was a completely useless expense as the car had only roughly 50,000 miles on it. Lucky to be alive, theodore david kennedy (860) 643-4118 117 birch mountain road, bolton CT 06043-7565.

Vehicle subject to apparent fuel starvation. Engine cuts out and cannot be restarted. Sometimes when stationary and sometimes when moving. After a period of time it spontaneously restarts, typically next day. Aaa towed and replaced the fuel pump with oem part, but it does not help. I can provide receipt if needed. Appears to be very similar symptoms to the 2010 and 2013 Jaguar Xf recalls, but Jaguar indicates that my VIN is not covered and I should contact the dealer at my own expense. Persistent problem. . . Dangerous and not fair! this happened 4 times so far, most recently yesterday. Car has apx. 56k miles on it.

Vehicle died while driving and will not turn over. This happened a few times before. My mechanic tells me that it is the fuel pump and that they were able to start the car by banging under the car near the fuel pump location. Jaguar has a recall on the fuel pump relay for my car year and engine, but the Jaguar national headquarters says that it doesn't apply to my vehicle. Seems like a similar problem that should be covered by them.
I noticed a strong fuel smell in the interior and exterior of my vehicle, I replaced my fuel cap but the smell remained, I then taken my vehicle to my local mechanic for a diagnostic check. The results were a cracked/ leaking fuel pump which needed replacing which caused me to miss work because of no transportation due to vehicle being unsafe for travel.

When I purchased the vehicle from van Buick/GMC in scottsdale, arizona they assured that they repaired the vehicle, its recalls, and windshield. Upon leaving the dealership, a couple of weeks later, the service engine light comes on and the codes I received from autozone reflect airbag and fuel delivery system errors. Although the airbag light is not on inside of the cabin, the dashboard is starting to lift on the passenger side where the airbag is. Also the rear seat child seat anchors do not exist. They are not present in the vehicle and I have 2 small children I transport daily. Almost daily, the engine will stall or lag and I can hear whining coming from the rear passenger back seat where the fuel pump is. I'm afraid that the smell of gasoline and that sound means I have a faulty fuel pump. It stalls when running and when sitting idle. It's worse at an idle. It stalls or stutters daily. I'm afraid these 3 things which I've seen on recall lists related to this type of car were severely overlooked and are a danger to myself and my children.
The in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated as the fuel pump relay is not energized following a vehicle startup cycle. An inadequate supply of fuel to the engine could result. Fuel starvation to the engine leads to engine stumble followed by engine cutout with minimal warning and could potentially cause a crash, I was in motion doing 65 mph on a freeway and the car stop with no warning . I had to tow it to my house. A week later the car started again but the mechanic advise me to replace the fuel pump based on the recall.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Jaguar Xf. The contact stated that the fuel tank indicator illuminated even though there was half a tank of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who recommended the fuel pump be replaced. The dealer (Jaguar columbia, 540 jamil rd, suite a, columbia, SC 29210, (803) 731-7493) was contacted and suggested the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The contact informed the dealer that the vehicle was already in the shop and a part was ordered. The vehicle repairs were being delayed until the fuel pump part arrived. The repairs would be performed by the independent mechanic. The dealer stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 74,124.

Crack on top of fuel pump, causing fuel to leak. Notice the smell of gas after returning to garage where vehicle was parked.
My car has a strong gas smell inside and out it is leaking fuel underneath the car when you lift the backseat up the fuel is shooting out, I took the vehicle to Jaguar and they said there is a crack in the fuel pump flange. I called Jaguar corporate office and they stated that there was a recall on that part but my car was never serviced for it. I am not the original owner I have had this car since February 2016.
I was driving (in motion) when the car completely shut down in the middle of a busy street. I was able to thankfully roll into a turn lane. I was not able to restart or even turn the car into neutral. The vehicle lost power-assisted braking and power-assisted steering. It was horrifying. . Read more...

While the vehicle was parked, there was a strong fuel odor in the garage, the contact moved the vehicle out of the garage and noticed a puddle of fuel underneath the vehicle. The original fuel pump on the car failed on 3/16/16 resulting in engine shutdown and subsequent loss of vehicle control while driving on a city street. A new fuel pump with Jaguar part number c2d25079 was installed by Jaguar Land Rover carlsbad, CA. This replacement fuel pump also failed on 8/19/16 resulting in loss of vehicle control while driving on a city street. Another fuel pump with the same part number was installed on 8/24/16 by the same dealer. We are concerned that we may have another failure while driving which results in the engine shutting down with subsequent loss of braking, turning, etc. Repair work was performed by Jaguar Land Rover carlsbad, 5660 paseo del norte, carlsbad, CA 92008, phone 760-404-5600.
The contact owns a 2012 Jaguar Xf. While attempting to accelerate, the vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electronic fuel pump failed. The electronic fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure recurred approximately one month later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the high pressure fuel pump was faulty. The high pressure fuel pump was replaced again, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.
