Vehicle stalls randomly bringing about a failure of all systems sometimes in the middle of crowded and fast freeways. Doing research on the problem it seems to be common for this type of vehicle and there seems to be a solution with the throttle body assembly design but aparently the manufacturer has not issued a recall for it and many people go to the dealerships spending thousands of dollars in repairs that do not solve the actual problem. The failure ocurrs randomly while driving under normal conditions.
Vehicle stalls at highway speed without warning. Throttle body repaired by dealer twice but problem not fixed. Jaguar mailed out letter calling for car to be checked by dealer which I did. Fix lasted 35k miles now problem back! very dangerous! dealer will not honor repair.

Car will stall while decelarating at freeway speeds. Throttle body has to the issue. Was told there was a recall on this issue worldwide except us. Has occurred about five times and can lead to a very dangerous situation.
Car has stalled on the highway while traveling approx. 65 mph. The car has been into the white allen Jaguar dealership in dayton ohio and they have not been able to isolate the issue. Although, I have paid them on each occasion to clean out the throttle body screen. This past wekend I was on I-75 in cincinnati and it stalled nearly causing a serious accident when I had to trail across 4 lanes to reach the side of the road to pull off. I could have been seriously injured or killed. It was a horrendously frightening experience. Something must be done by Jaguar to correct this problem. It seems to be rather widespread and of serious danger to the owner and others on the highway at the time the car stalls.
Vehicle stalled at highway speeds without warning. No impact reported. Dealer cleaned throttle body, but after 9 to 12 months problem recurred. Whenever vehicle stalls, ignition has to be turned off and then on to rectify the problem. In addition, when vehicle stalls, accelerator pedal delivered no fuel. Vehicle must be pulled over, turn off the engine and turn it on again in order for vehicle to run normal. Dealer also performed repair on steering wheel because consumer experienced vibration at highway speed. Wiper blades were replaced.
My 1998 Jaguar Xj8l continually stalls at highway speed. . . Jaguar knows about the problem and uses it as a source of cash flow, charging several hundred dollars each 10,000 miles to remedy the situation through replacement of the throttle body or cleaning of the breather ports. . . This car should be recalled.
The power window on drivers side stopped operating while in the up position. Vehicle stalled on two occasions while driving at 35 mph and 65 mph. Vehicle restarted on both occasions, and the vehicle would vibrate severely while driving 50 mph. Consumer stated vehicle had been to the dealer 8-10 separate times, but problem recurred. The electrical sstem has problems. Radio changes funtions from am to fm to cd by itself without consumer input. Windows go down without the consumers input and will not close. Interior lights do not work when driving. Steering wheel gets heavy when driving at slow speeds. Tires become loud and rought at 19000 miles.

My 1998 Jaguar Xj8l stalled at high speed (70 mph) on the freeway for the third time in the last six month with no warning. This cause me to have very little control over my car. I was able to stop the car and restart with no problem. I checked an internet site which has a forum documenting this problem. This is a serious problem on the freeway. Very scary.
While driving at any speed and without warning the vehicle stalled and caused the driver to lose control.
Consumer states that while driving and with no warning vehicle will stall, and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle. Dealer notified.
My vehicle will occasionally stall at highway speeds in excess of 60 mph after accelerating.
The vehicle stalled on several occasions, and the windshield wipers did not turn off. The service dealer told the consumer they needed to clean and adjust the throttle housing, and the vehicle was designed to stall when maintenance was needed. Mr scc.
