When I am driving my car, it will automatically go into neutral. Normally, I am driving 15-25 mps, the radio and heat/ac is off. I am scared to drive my car. When it goes into neutral I press the brake (which is hard) and I put the car on park and after the third or fourth try, it finally turns on. The problem will not occur again during the day. It only happens in the mornings.
Oct. 2019: blaring radio, u-connect system failure (battery replaced)-garage at home and local suburban area Dec. 2019: radio volume control didn't work, mute button didn't work, mute button unmuted itself (twice in a 5-7 minute period), volume adjusting up and down on its own-happened 8:10 am Jan. 2020: audio stuck on religious station, but info screen blank-black (9:45 am and 10:10 am. Happened after I stopped to get gas at a suburban location) March 2020: radio unmuted itself multiple times on its own and when I pressed the mute button-it didn't work (suburbs) March 2020: am-unable to adjust volume-stuck followed by blaring volume after I had turned the volume button down. Later-same day-radio station changed to a religious station (not the station I had on previously) air pressure light goes on constantly start and stop system message goes on and off constantly this Jeep has just over 36,000 miles. Radio incidences have occurred both while sitting stationary and while driving.
At around 40,000 miles, touch screen/radio would randomly shut off and on, and service shifter comes on intermittently. Sometimes stays on constantly, sometimes comes on and off. Very frustrating as numerous people have reported these issues all over the internet, but Jeep has done absolutely nothing about it. Some reports even mention injuries involved in the issue. No vehicle should have these issues this commonly at a very acceptable low mileage.
Radio/ screen display goes black intermittently. Happens while driving or backing up. Cant use screen to see what's behind you. Not to mention you lose climate control and everything else your screen displays. Dealership is replacing these units with remanufactured radios (units).
One morning I started the car, I heard water moving from the engine area. While, driving the car I heard a noise's like a pressure cooker sounds. Once I arrived at work I walked around to the passage side to retrieve my staff. I could smelled antifreeze. I contacted Jeep right away and they contact a tow company. It was drop off. The dealership worked on it for a couple days. They did pressure test for external leak, didn't locate a leak. They didn't do a internal examine. It's 2 year old vehicles already leaking antifreeze. I have my vehicle into the dealership twice but still smell antifreeze. Two pressure test later nothing. I just pickup my vehicle for the second time. Why is Jeep vehicles having so many problem. My psi, transmission and radio making sounds when its off. Jeep is a bad vehicle and it just a matter of time, humans might be in damage due to the uncaring manufacturing company that makes lot's of money of the back of working americans.
I did the recall orc module software on my vehicle now I got a recall on th radio security vulnerabliliey the dealer in my town says this is the same recall, is it?.
Jeep Cherokee trailhawk, 2015. This has been an ongoing problem, since shortly after purchase 8/10/15. This happens when driving. Sometimes highway sometimes county road. When Jeep shifts there is a significant "jerk" that can be felt. Similar to whiplash. No specific time or place that it happens. Just at random times. Have had this in to dealership 3 times. One time they did software update. Did not solve problem. The next two visits the technician said they did not experience any problems during test drive. It seems to be a transmission problem. That is main problem--but there is also a problem with the radio. When on am, it sounds as if there is someone inside the radio hammering with a hammer. Again, dealer did not experience this problem while driving.
While driving, the navigation system failed, leaving only the arrow pointing in my direction of travel. This continued for over three hours. When stopped for lunch, I returned to vehicle and when I restarted the navigation system returned to normal. I took the car into the dealer who said that the current radio/navigation system had two software updates due. They were installed, completely locking up the radio/navigation system. The dealer took over three hours to correct problem with their top computer person. The vehicle was never the same. The backup camera failed, the dashboard display would lock out and other electronic malfunctions plagued the vehicle. The whole radio/navigation system was finally replaced after three months of trial and error. At this time, the vehicle seems to be functioning properly. However, one employee at the dealer told me this. Jeep has at times been installing refurbished radio/navigation systems in their new vehicles when they run short of new parts. This could explain why the software updates were not compatible with the older radio/navigation system. How can a manufacturer install refurbished parts into a new vehicle? to me, this is not only a safety issue but a consumer fraud issue.
For the past week my 2015 Jeep Cherokee has been at the dealership; continuous screen/radio malfunctioning/ unintended car acceleration/ computer system malfunction, etc. I was told by the service manager that they have no clue why my vehicle is not functioning correctly or accepting their several attempts to 'update' my vehicles system to correct the various problems. The manager went on to tell me how my car is "rejecting" the new part they tried to install. I did not know vehicles had the ability to 'reject' mechanical parts. He said they had to contact Chrysler to find out how to fix my vehicle; I truly thought the "Chrysler" dealership was Chrysler and mechanics there were trained to fix all of chryslers vehicles, shame on me. At this point I am truly afraid to drive the truck, especially with the Chrysler dealership not knowing how to repair the various problems with a 2015 model. I also noticed the Jeeps starting with 1c4pj seems to have all the problems. With Chrysler noticing it as well, why not just replace the Jeeps sold in that batch?.
