2016 Jeep Cherokee sport with only 11850 miles began jerking and stalling while driving slowly. . . Finally it stalled completely and the low oil indicator showed. I then discovered the 2. 4l tigershark engine was down over 2 qts. There was no prior low oil indication. I immediately changed the oil and filter for the third time since 2016 when new. The vehicle stopped on a county road.
Vehicle stall while parked or during mid turn. Vehicle would also have some sort of overheating which causes engine light to come one and vehicle starts to lose power causing lights to have a short flicker. All issue happen during motion and while parked.

As I was driving on the highway out of no where my Jeep begun to stall and all the lights shut off and lost power, I almost was involved in an accident due to loss of control of the vehicle this is the 3 time it happens in 2 days it runs fine and out of no where this problem happens. I checked with the code reader and alot if codes with the letter u popped up steering wheel sensor and other things I've never heard ofg I waited for the vehicle to get cold checked the harness and put a new battery. Brought it to have the alternator checked at advanced auto and the alternator is fine. Leaving advanced auto it happened again and I had to call road side assistance to tow the Jeep home. This morning it started running fine on our way to the store a mile away samething. What's going on? I research and theres hundreds of people with the same issue yet no results or clarification.
Car has had repetitive issues losing power directly after a sharp right hand turn. Completely loses power for a few seconds but long enough to potentially be rear ended. I have had it in the shop 3 times and they cannot correct the issue. I have been dealing with this issue for the last 30,000 miles and seems no help is comping from the dealership or manufacturer. I was originally told that it was a low oil issue although the oil was not low. This is the v6 version and does not consume oil like the 4 cylinder. Vehicle has been reflashed twice and dealership is unwilling to find source and fix. I have one particular turn on to a interstate highway I make every day and the vehicle consistently stalls on that turn. It is a potential for a serious accident and should be addressed by the manufacturer. There is hundreds of complaints online with the same issue and yet no recall or even a service bulletin. Please please please intervene before someone is injured.
Without warning my 2016 Jeep Cherokee will stall in the middle of the road. I have checked the oil after this occurred and there was very little oil left. No indicator lights came on and this has now happened while driving at about 35-45 mph and while making left turns. The oil is consistently changed at 5000 miles and this occurs after about 2000 miles.
Car stalled in middle of on ramp. No control because car turned off.
I was stopped on a busy main road in my town, to make a left into my neighborhood and my Jeep Cherokee stalled. The dash lit up with put in park and restart car. I put it in park and the car restarted. I drove to my house and parked the car. I had to use my other car to go to work because I was afraid for my safety if I drove my Jeep Cherokee.
2016 Jeep Cherokee approx. 58,000 miles began shutting down while exiting the parking garage, stalled out several times and steering and all control of the vehicle was lost. Took it to the shop and after running diagnostic was told that nothing could be found to be wrong with the vehicle. Did not drive the vehicle for a week and when it was driven again began displaying the same problems with complete shut down. After some investigation on this web site and others, I found that this is a common problem with the 2016 Jeep Cherokee due to the built in kill switch to protect the engine when the oil is low. I checked the oil and it was indeed low. Prior to this failure, the vehicle has been well maintained with all recommended oil changes and preventative maintenance. Jeep/chryslers solution to the problem-check your oil more often! this vehicle is dangerous-not only to the driver and passengers but to other vehicles on the roads as the vehicle stops with no warning and could cause major accidents and deaths. They need to be taken off of the roadways.
Tl-the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that when making a right turn going uphill the vehicle stalled. The dashboard light stated to shift to p then to the desired gear. The vehicle was glided to the side of the road. The vehicle started up after several attempts and was able to be driven home. The dealer global Jeep 1099 us-22, north plainfield, NJ 07060 (908) 200-2536 was called and the contact was waiting for the service manager to call back with a diagnosis. . The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 60,000. Tf.
The car began jerking as if in the process of stalling while driving on the highway. Then, whenever the car was stopped at a light or accelerating the stall like jerking would occur again.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 5 mph and making a right turn, the vehicle suddenly stalled. After restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. The cause of the failure was not determined. Napleton north lake Chrysler (3701 north lake blvd, palm beach gardens, FL) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.
Twice in the past week my Jeep has just stalled while driving, both on 2/1/19 and 2/4/19 I was going around 35-40 mph. I am able to coast the Jeep off the road and then I needed to wait a few minutes before it starts up again. The on board computer system display does not show any problems. Upon research it seems several people have reported the same problem.
This is in regards to my 2016 Jeep Cherokee latitude. In the last 4 days my car how just completely shut off 3 times on 12/23/18, 12/26/18 and 12/27/18, while I was driving, probably would have been 4 times but I didn't drive on christmas day. The first 2 times it happened I was leaving my work parking lot driving no more than 10-15 mph. Today 12/27 my car shut off while I was stopped at a stop light . This happens with no warning at all! luckily no one was behind me when I stalled. I have seen many people on social media with this same problem! the dealership says it could be an oil issue, so they are just doing an oil change and they said they recommend bring the car back every 1000 miles to check levels!! what kind of solution is that ? I have young children that I drive to school! I can't have this happen while driving them!.
About a month ago, my 2016 Jeep started to stall as I was driving the vehicle. The steering wheel locks and the battery sign flashes, then the car tells me to place the car in park. I shut the car off, wait about two minutes then restart the car. Sometimes I will make it to my destination, sometimes it stalls on me again. It's happened too many times, and I scared to drive the car anymore. It has been in a shop for three weeks now, and there is nothing that they can find wrong with the vehicle. They hook it up to a machine, but no error messages are reported to them.
My vehicle stalls while driving; on the expressway, after a car wash, in the school parking lot. This is very dangerous!! it happened 3 times during rush hour traffic on a Friday night. Online complaints are plentiful. . . This needs to be addressed, someone is going to be seriously hurt!! currently at the shop, they cannot figure out what the issue is. This has happened on numerous occasions.
First this Jeep uses oil fast. I have to put oil in the car way before it's due to be ch aged. The car will stall and stop and have no power. It has shut off on me in the middle of a busy hwy and would not go. I had to cut it off and back on it would go about 500 feel and do it again. Now this Jeep has left me stranded a few times. It just would not crank. Replaced battery in key fob and still nothing. The car will randomly shut down and flash codes. It told me to service transmission about 54000 miles and wouldn't go. Brought it to a dealership and they updated it but those problems only fixed it for a few months.
Vechile stalling while driving. The vechile will stall driving at low speed turns, up hills and coming to a stop. Second time it has been to dealership for same problem. First time was June 30 2016. Second is today.
2016 Jeep Cherokee latitude 4x4 (25k miles) will stall or lose power while driving. Happened several times in past few months. Noticed first when had trouble starting in the morning a few times (after a recent oil change). While driving, Jeep latitude 4x4 will jump into gear while slowing jolting the car forward, temporarily lose power (rpm drop, and mph drop), or completely lose power while driving (happened on both city and highway). Complete loss of power happened several times while turning, coming around turn, indicator will ding then suddenly steering stiffens, no power from gas pedal, and car slows to stop. Once stopped, message screen displays shift car to p then to desired gear I then have to shift car to park and restart (sometimes taking 3 or 4 attempts). This has also happened while attempting to merge onto highway (coming around bend of on ramp) luckily there was a large shoulder and little traffic to pull over safely. This poses an immediate risk of safety of not only myself, but passengers and other vehicles. If this were to happen at a busy intersection, highway, or dangerous road conditions (low visibility, slick surface, etc) and accident will occur. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the battery warning indicator illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder, shifted into park, and the battery warning indicator turned off. The contact waited approximately five minutes and restarted the vehicle. As the contact was driving, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 34697040. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
On 4 separate occassions, while in motion, the car completely shut down. On each stall, everything shut off completely including all lights dashboard etc. When I attempted to restart the car in the middle of the road (once on the highway) obstructing traffic, the car would not restart. Only after waiting 3 -5 minutes did the car eventually start. Twice I was almost rear ended.
While driving the car on 2 separate occasions, the car died while in motion. The first time, I was leaving church and made a left turn. The car stalled and I was able to move out of the way of traffic onto the shoulder of the road. I put the vehicle in park and started it up a couple of times and was able to go. The second time (today), I turned into a parking lot and it just killed. I put the vehicle in park and then started the car again and moved on. Fortunately, both times, I was able to safely address this. Who knows what will happen the next time? this first happened the 4th Sunday in may of 2018 and the second time, June 10, 2018.
The car would stall in the middle of the road. This happened before, I took it to the dealership, they told me it was due to low/dirty oil level, they did the oil change and it was fine for a while. This morning the car stalled in the middle of the road, I have about 5,000 miles on the car since last maintenance, but when I checked the oil change indicator, it showed that I still have about 36%.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. While driving, the oil level became low and the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to siemans Chrysler Dodge ram Jeep (8691 red arrow hwy, bridgman, mi 49106) and the contact was advised to add oil to the vehicle every 1,000 miles to keep it from running low. The manufacturer was also contacted and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 15,000.
While stopped at an intersection, the vehicle stalled. All light went off and brake pedal stuck down. I put car in park and turned key. Tried to restart vehicle and nothing started. . . Light just came on the dash with every item flicking. The brake pedal was still stuck down. If I out the car in neutral, unable to push vehicle and unable to remove parking break. Keep in mind I'm at a very heavy traffic intersection. Took about 5 minutes until the car told me to press break to release parking break . I turned the key and the vehicle started again. Now I am afraid this will happen every time I come to a stop. My car has 19300 miles. . . . Nothing to this extent should be going wrong.
