My Jeep was looked at under the w20 recall, it fixed the check engine light, but later came back up. I'm not sure if the recall was part of the check engine light, but I've tried to reset it, and that is not working. I don't feel the check engine light was fixed. Is there anything you can do? should I bring my Jeep to a Jeep dealer??.
When turning, left or right my 2016 Jeep Cherokee stalled. It emitted a ding sound and flashed the message shift gear to park first. The battery light and check engine light illuminated and the engine shut itself off. I lost power steering and acceleration. It has happened 7 times since December 2019, sometimes multiple times a day. I suspect the oil level being low is the cause. But I have no indication that the oil level gets low.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced rough idling. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to quirk Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (830 plain st, marshfield, MA 02050) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that cylinder number 3 failed and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed that low compression on cylinder number 3 showed internal failure with dtc number: p0303 (cylinder #3 misfire). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
Check engine light came on. Took the vehicle to local Jeep dealership. Vehicle has approx. 38,000 miles and the thermostat housing assembly is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. Told by dealership this is a common issue with 2015/2016 Cherokees between 30,000 and 40,000 miles. Vehicle is no longer under warranty. If this is such a common occurrence, shouldn't this be a recall? if ignored, this could lead to severe engine damage.
My vehicle Jeep was in motion on the interstate when my service transmission light came on and I almost caused a major accident when my Jeep slowed way down. When I accelerated it would hardly move. Mind you I was on the interstate!! very scary experience. This is not the first experience I have had with my Jeep while in motion on highway it jumps bucks and revs up on its own when it was doing that I had to take it to be hooked up to tester to see why my battery light came on? had to replace coil pack #4 and I did it again 6 months down the road and had to replace coil pack #2. The check engine light stays on. My Jeep only has 59064 miles. I am very scared terrified and nervous driving me Jeep.
My Jeep Cherokee limited 2016's engine will shut off mid drive. This has happened to me three times while on the road for the past 4 months or so. I fear for my safety and that of my family and friends or whomever may be with me in my vehicle when this happens. The issue begins with the dash starting to flicker, the ac and radio will shut off, any actively enabled functions will shut off/disable (lane sense, cruise control, auto start/stop), two times out of the three, the vehicle engine shuts off seconds after, causing the greatest risk to safety since the vehicle is essentially cruising with no power whatsoever at an average of 70mph (mostly drive on freeways/highways), forcing me to pull over on the side of the road/shoulder in order to break to a full stop, place the vehicle on park and then restart the vehicle in order to get back on the road. I believe Jeep had issued a recall for this exact issue if I'm not mistaken (safety recall u63). I have taken my Jeep to a local dealership to get this issue fixed. I received the assessment from the dealership saying that the recall issue was fixed. A week after I went to the dealership the issue happened again, the check engine light came on but turned off after so by the time I took it to the dealership again, they "couldn't help me" since the check engine light was not on at the time. I also did not have a way to prove that this issue was happening still to my vehicle so I left disappointed and sure it would happen again at some point. As of today 28 March 2019 the issue happened again yesterday on the way to work around 0836am, luckily I was able to record a video of it as it was happening that I would be happy to share, the vehicle did not shut off during the video. I bought this vehicle new, in 2016, from a dealership in wa state.
Takata recall after starting the car and staying stationary starts to shake. While driving shakes even more and has stalled on me while driving with my toddler in car seat in back. Then it did it again 2 more times just glad my son wasn't in the car. Now check engine light lit up today Feb-6-2019. There have been plenty of complaints of these type of issues. My vehicle is under warranty still as it is a lease. I will not be leasing Jeep anymore.
I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee sport. My check engine light came on. I was told there was a thermostat issue. My total repair cost for this one problem was $866. 06 at the paramus NJ dealer. I'm extremely disappointed that I had such an expensive repair when my car is 2016 and I have less than 50,000 miles. I'm also disappointed that I was told only dealers can update the computer on my vehicle. I have heard of several Jeep owners complaining of sensor issues noting repair work wasn't necessary. Also, with the check engine light on my auto start did not work.
Bought car August 2016, first noticed severe jolt/kick August 2017. It appeared randomly. So severe that the first 10 or so times I really thought I was rear ended. When traveling around 40-45 mph car jolts/kicks/jumps/drops (pick your term) when the car shifts gears. Doesn't happen every time, mostly when traffic is creeping along. And noticed that the car idled very roughly out of the driveway just before the check engine light came on all three times. Dealership resets computer then says they can't replicate issue, I've taken it in 3 times now for these issues with no real resolution. They are replacing valve body this time, my car is under two years old and I do not feel safe driving it anywhere.
The check engine light is on once in two weeks. My local dealer in san diego (rancho Chrysler Jeep Dodge) said that there is a problem with engine gas valve. They said it was leaking. Each time this is the issue. This is my 4th time going to the dealer. I strongly believe that its very risky for passengers to drive such cars with leaks. I request NHTSA team to please review all Jeep Cherokee models as they need re-calls and its unsafe for public to drive such leaky vehicles. I was very afraid when I was turning on highway and my car started noise as if something is bursting, it was very frightening moment.
My car is a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and only has 44,000 miles on it. I keep up with my maintenance. My check engine light came on and my heat isn't working properly. We took it to the dealership in mobile, al this morning and they are saying my warranty for this is up. It's $400 plus dollars to fix and I searched online and other people with this same vehicle are having this problem. This is obviously unfair to consumers. Please look into this matter.
