The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle was drifting. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle jumped. The service shifter warning light was illuminated and was flashing on and off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the thermostat, service shifter and assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.
