Door Problems of Jeep Cherokee

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the inside of the front driver’s side door filled up with water while it was raining. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer stated that the cause of the failure was identifiable, but the result was not disclosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,200.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving on the highway, the contact noticed smoke inside the vehicle. He then noticed that the automatic door locks on the driver's door caught fire. The fire started within the door and was burning through the door panel. The driver pulled over and the occupants exited the vehicle. The fire department arrived and contained the fire to just the driver's side door. There were no injuries. The contact's wife was driving at the time of the failure and inhaled a lot of smoke. A doctor's appointment was scheduled for December 18, 2019. A police report was not filed. The contact was unsure if a police report was filed. John greene Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (910 jamestown rd, morganton, nc 28655, (828) 584-5337) stated that there were no recalls and informed the contact not to tow the vehicle to their facility. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they would send a team to investigate the failure and inspect the vehicle damage. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's home. The failure mileage was 42,000.

I have a 2005 grand Cherokee with a door handle. My driver door handle is just about to drop off. . I noticed the "loose" handles but my rear drivers side door doesn't have a handle for the same reason. Jeep definitely needs to recall these issues before something happens. Massive list of complains in the NHTSA website and Jeep/Chrysler has not issued a recall. . . Huge safety concern for all of us that have kids in the back seat and other passengers and god forbid there's an accident opens like you mentioned a fire or an accident and your passengers can't exit the vehicle.

Interior door handles are breaking and not sturdy. Some door cannot be opened from the inside as the handles are not reliable and even some cause minor injuries due to sharp edges.

I just found out I have a cracked manifold, my driver side door has broken put a new part in it and now that is broken,I have also had to put a new transmission in it with only 148,000. 00 miles. In 2006 I had to fix the gas tank because it was broken too. Is this not a recall problem????? any of these, I have had the Jeep since 2000 and I bought it when it had 20,000 miles on it. Please help because this is 2012 and I only have 156,000 miles on it now. Thank you.

The contact owns a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. While the vehicle was parked, all the doors became difficult to open. The contact had to apply force to the push button on the door handles in order to open the doors. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Dealership said they would take photo and refer to oem, contacted local garage per dealership reference to repair and garage said they have fix 3-4 of this type failure. The door would fall off if not fixed.

My vehicle was turned on in park; while in park for less than 2 minutes the vehicle went from park to reverse; vehicle was stopped by hitting a tree. Now my trunk is damaged, and my power locks don't work; if I understand correctly there is a federal investigation going on with my particular brand of Jeep; the dealer said they will not fix my Jeep; so what I am suppose to do.

After parking vehicle, consumer applied emergency brake and the button and spring popped out. Dealed ordered the parking brake lever assembly . The emergency brake was fixed, but the consumer states that he was not satisfied. The front passenger door was not closing properly due to missing bolts.

Right rear door lock/ latch had caught on fire while driving. Vehicle at dealer for inspection. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.

Door locks locking without application due to faulty door wiring harness.

Consumer's door panels on all 4 doors are peeling. Manufacturer will not assist consumer financially. Cost to repair is approximately $500.

Fuel gauge moves up and down while driving. I can never determine how much fuel I have in the tank at any given time. Also, the electrical system causes the power locks not to work properly on hot/humid days. Dealer could not fix locks successfully.

Was replacing speaker wire harness. Had noticed door was warped. Took to dealer & mechanic indicated door panel had to be replaced due to warping. Drilled hole in panel to secure panel to door.

Since 1/99, we have encountered numerous times. . . The airbag light comes on, the spedometer/tachometer read "o". . . Sometimes includes all gauges (gas, oil pressure, etc). Also, had window motor and radio front replaced. . . Related????.

The inner door panel was warped and loosened, replacement necessary.

Left and right door arm rest brackets need to be metal rather than plastic inorder to stand pressure. Yh.

Problem with interior door panel.

Cargo door inoperative.

While closing door noticed that door was unattached from frame or body of vehicle, causing door to hang off, unable to close. Hinge became loose without any knowledge and soon became completely unattached from the frame, consumer had to manually lift door into latch and lock it to close the door, Chrysler claimed no responsibility, consumer heard from other repair shops that this was a frequent problem.

Panels on the inside of the door kept coming apart. Each time door was opened the panels came down, causing the foam to be exposed. Child pulled foam out & stuffed it in his mouth. Front panels on the doors were repaired. However, rear doors panels are currently having the same problem as the front. Contacted manufacturer & informed consumer nothing could be done, but knew of problem.

When unlocking the door with the key the door will unlock with the key turning to the unlocked position. But when lifting the handle, the door will not open. Repaired once and dealer cannot duplicate the problem.
