1. This is not a safety issue. This is a cosmetic issue. 2. Not applicable to warning lights. 3. General issue: bottom portion of drivers seat, reported to be leather, is peeling. This peeling is discoloring the seat and shows signs that it will continue over the entire seat. Never before have I seen this issue with leather seats (in many previous vehicles), including other Jeep vehicles. The issue was confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealer and they provided me an estimate including labor to be more than $1000. This peeling is of course, a cosmetic issue, but it looks awful and should not happen on a Jeep that is only 4 years old and has been gently taken care of. I realize this is a "wear and tear" issue, however there is no over-use - only usual getting in and out of the car. Leather should wear much longer and should not peel over time.

Seat is become loose and has to be hand tightened on. A regular basis. Taken to dealer they say it’s not under my warranty and that the insulation trim is worn out that’s why it’s becoming loose. They are saying at the dealership and with Chrysler that it is not a safety issue and therefor can’t be put under the manufacture warranty.

Currently the seats sound like they arnt bolted down correctly. Also recently the key fob is failing to unlock the vehicle and its taking multiple trys of pulling the fob out of the ignition and putting it back into the ignition trying it on different sides buying multiple batteries. Also the the vehicle has always gotten stuck in gear, hard shifting.
I sat in my driver seat and the latch completely broke so now my seat does not stay latched and it jumps up every time I hit a bump on the road. It has caused me to swerve into different lanes by accident and could ultimately cause serious injury if I get into an accident. The vehicle was stationery when it broke.

Front leather seat on 2020 Jeep Cherokee came completely undone underneath from day4.
The service shifter was displayed on the dashboard and all the lights on the shifter were on. I had to shut off the car and turn it back on to make the lights go off, but after a few miles the lights came back on. The driver seat power switch has stopped working two times. I had it replaced the first time and not even a year later it stopped working again.

Our brand new 2019 Jeep limited 4 x 4 with v6 engine (285 miles) was started up in our driveway I noticed the battery light was on. The dashboard stated the start/stop function was no longer working. The seat would not move for driver 2. We needed to get to an event and attempted to pull out of the driveway when we noticed the power steering was not working. We returned the car to its spot on the driveway. The car was started this morning with no battery icon showing and no dashboard memo. I'm afraid to drive this vehicle and will get it to a dealership.
Engine leak bad seat and brake light I need some help please replace rear wipe,.

Engine shuts off randomly when stopped. Back passenger seats rattle when driving either smith or bumpy roads. Squeaking noise comes from the car when the engine is shut off.
Front passenger seat squeaks when the car is in motion. The seat tends to move a little forward and then backward when coming to a stop. I noticed this after I brought the car home, I called the dealer and he states something is loose but didn't know what.

Purchased my 2015 Jeep Cherokee in September 2015 brand new with 19 miles. The car started off running great I loved it. By April 2016, I noticed the car began to drive differently and at first I didn't think much of it but it got worse and worse. By October my car was jerking so bad, stalling sometimes and accelerating sometimes on it's on. I took it into the dealership and they replaced the transmission with only 11000 miles on the vehicle. My car drove like it once used to until about the end of January 2017. The car began to accelerate on its own once again jumping from 1gear to 3 gear and back. In February on my way to work my shifter locked on me and went completely out causing me to come to a complete stop. Thank god it was 4am and no cars were out because I would have definitely been in a car accident. I took the car to the dealership and expressed my troubles with the car and they changed the shifter and did some update on the car saying that that's why my car was driving the way it was. The very next Friday after getting my car back from them, I almost hit the back of a car coming down street with a slight incline and the vehicle sped up on it own without me pressing the gas from 25mph to 45mph jumping from 2 to 4 gear. The car jerked so hard felt like I had been hit by another car. I called Jeep and told them I was bringing the car back it was not fixed and I almost had an accident. When they got the vehicle, they claimed when they drove the vehicle it performed how it was supposed. I have been having nothing but trouble with this car since they replaced the transmission. I called chrystler myself to express my issues with my car and they pretended to car at first and barely got in touch with me towards the end of it. Finally, I found a lemon law attorney and I am currently fighting them to buy this vehicle back. I do not feel safe in this car.
Most recent incident: 5/25/16, en route home from work, northern state parkway. Vehicle accelerated, while moving with traffic with three car lengths between myself and car in front of me from 35mph to 60mph. I almost rear-ended the vehicle in front of me. Approximately 20 minutes later, the vehicle decelerated from 40mph to an almost stop without my hitting the brakes and I was almost hit from behind. I came to a full stop upon exiting the parkway, when I attempted to accelerate to move forward and merge into traffic on south oyster bay road, my vehicle did not move more than rolling ahead. I 'floored it' in an attempt to move into traffic, as there was now a car approaching quickly, and my vehicle did not accelerate as it should have; it continued to roll along. My vehicle is currently at the westbury Jeep Chrysler Dodge service center 111 bond st. Westbury, NY 11590 1(516)333-2666 my most recent Chrysler case #: 29373159 case manager: crystal; 1(800)763-8422 ext. 40505 I have had ongoing issues with my vehicle since signing a lease in December 2014. The seats incessantly squeak, with no remedy. The car has been pulling, jerking, accelerating, and decelerating on its own. This problem has escalated to an unsafe status and I am unable to safely drive my vehicle. Chrysler corporation has deemed there is nothing wrong with my vehicle, yet it continues to accelerate and decelerate without my initiation of such actions. The vehicle has an unsafe delay in acceleration when I do attempt to merge onto a highway, for example. This vehicle is not functioning at a safe standard and the company is claiming nothing wrong and safe to drive. I have had far too many near-wrecks because of delayed acceleration, and the vehicle accelerating and decelerating on its own. Please help me.
I bought a pre-owned certified Jeep Cherokee 2014 from david's Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler last week Monday, June 6th, 2015. I had a major issue occur a week later on the highway while traveling 65 mph the car loss traction control, 4 wheel drive, and the ability to accelerate. I was in a cattle shoot and had to coast the car down the highway to pull over. A service engine light along with warnings about the traction control and transmission were shown. I pulled to the side of the road and put the car in park which resulted in a hard jerk from moving the clutch from drive to park. I restarted the car and the car was idling at an abnormally high rpm. I put the car in drive and noticed a jerk once again when moving through the gears. The car also shifted very hard for about 45 more miles. I called the dealership who informed me that my car required an update to the transmission which was preformed that day. As an engineer I find it unacceptable that the dealership sold a car with the potential to crash on the highway due to negligence with regards ignoring a crucial update like the transmission. After the update to the transmission the car is shifting very hard from gear to gear and seems to be giving a shallow shift to 1st gear when the car is at a complete stop. Monday, 13th, 2015, I have an appointment for two other issues a squeak in the rear passenger seat and an interference issue with the sirusxm. As an engineer it is obvious that there is a deep underlying problem with the 9 speed transmission I will be asking for the dealership to replace the transmission as the update was not effective causing rough shifting and a loss of acceleration in the shift from high to low gears.
Shortly after buying my 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport with the 2. 4 engine and 9 speed automatic, it began shifting erratically. In town it would hesitate when leaving a stop light or jerk violently while changing gears. On the highway, it would not downshift on inclines or to pass and merge with traffic. I had several close calls where I had to accelerate but nothing happened when putting the pedal to the floor. This has been in the shop four times just for this problem alone and as of this writing, is still not any better. It has also had other problems with the thermostat and interior. I work in the automotive industry and know from resources that this is a simple fix. Fca is giving thousands of people the runaround and angering dealerships by not being honest. The 4 cylinder engine will no longer meet the reported mpg it was claimed to after the shift profiles change and this puts fca in a position that Volkswagen recently dealt with. My safety and the safety of thousands is not worth 3 mpg. Fca is also treating customers as if each case is individually unique and it belittles them as well as the mechanics that know repairs are futile. I have a case number now and another appointment but it would be best to avoid this vehicle at all costs and arbitrate. There should be a federal investigation before someone dies if they haven't already. The thermostat failure is also widespread and is only being addresses one at a time in field claims. This too could lead to serious damage and even fire which has also happened to a few of these vehicles. Please help us be a voice and stop this serious disregard for safety and consumer rights.

I noticed my seat leaning to the side. Looking under the seat, I saw where the metal rails on the bottom of the seat, where it attached to the floor mount, to have completely broken away from the bolts. I now have a rocking drivers chair. It is difficult to drive laying on your back.
My mother was rear ended which caused the frame including the seat to completely not hold together,, my mother was ejected from the vehicle as it proceeded to roll over,, killing her instantly.
I noticed my driver's seat wobbling and found that two of the brackets that hold this seat to the floor were broken. The left front bracket broke once before but it was welded about 2 years ago. From what I've seen on the internet, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of complaints regarding this same issue. A recall needs to be issued as this is a huge safety concern for myself and my family as well as others who own Jeep vehicles. Please issue a recall before a fatal accident occurs. Please let me know if there is anything further that I need to do; and I look forward to your prompt response in this regard. Thank you.
Seat bracket on drivers side seat completely broke, seat wiggles and moves.
I was driving my 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport on the highway going 55mph when my drivers seat went back unexpectedly almost causing me to get into an accident. (the problem was the front frame of the seat just snapped, this seems to be a common issue I have just found out that has been going on for a while, Jeep should do a recall on these as this is very dangerouse and I could have gotton killed).

2000 Jeep Cherokee sport airbag warning light illuminates randomly and repeatedly. Not related to actual airbag deployment. It may render airbag unusable. Dangerous condition. Common consumer complaint. All passenger window actuator switches are unusable. Windows will only work at driver panel. Safety issue if passengers have to open windows. Very common consumer complaint. Obd error codes are inaccurate (especially when applying to emission control systems p0441, p0442). Diagnosis often lead to unneeded repairs and costly replacement of sensors and computer without cause. Common consumer complaint. Driver seat support structure breaks. Even when driven only in ordinary driving conditions and not stressed unusually. Must be rewelded or replaced. Seat is no longer structurally safe. Common consumer complaint all of these are design issues and not service/maintenance related.
We own a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport with approx. 155,000 miles. We bought it used 02/2004. Sometime in June 2010, just a couple of weeks prior to incident, the driver seat began to make a noise while sitting in it, during acceleration, and braking. We could not find the source of annoying noise and just hoped it would go away. On Friday, July 9, 2010 when my husband went to do errands and sat in the seat he said it felt odd and the noise was gone. Happy the noise was gone he went about his business. When I got into the Jeep on Sunday, July 11, 2010 I noticed the seat was wobbling. I got out and looked under the seat. I found the problem. . . . Where the seat attaches to the seat adjuster the metal had ripped almost completely through at the right front bolt. While sitting in the seat it rocks from front left to right rear. The situation calls for immediate action on our part to get it fixed. We are obtaining information (time and cost to fix and amount of time without a vehicle-it's the driver seat not passenger) on welding, new seat, or replacement from junkyard. I am not excited about wanting to use another Jeep seat as I fear same issue will occur. This is our only vehicle. We do not go mudding, four wheeling, mountain climbing, off roading with it. We don't live near a beach or take it to the coastline in order for high salt concentration in air to be a factor. Yes we live in the midwest but salt from shoes cannot reach this part. Of the seat.
Underside of front seat (metal rail connecting to tracks) broke suddenly near retaining bolts on both front connections. Metal was flimsy (1/8 in or so) and did not appear to be reinforced against shear (up/down) stress at connection point to accommodate seat motion when drivers got into/out of vehicle. I was just getting in to go to work when it failed, but it could just have easily happened in traffic or at a traffic stop.
