1 Power Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2015

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. While traveling approximately 25 mph, another vehicle swerved in front of the contact's vehicles at a higher rate of speed without warning. As a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into the other vehicle from the front. The air bags did not deploy, the power steering failed, and the vehicle stalled. Several attempts had to be made in order to restart the vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact sustained whiplash and lower back pains, which did not require medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed to determine the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. In addition, the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system); however, due to the parts not being available, the contact was unable to receive the repair for months. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
