The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, she noticed fluids from under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic where it was determined that the leak was coming from the rack and pinion. The mechanic informed the contact that they had to replace the rack and pinion, the power steering assist and the power steering pump. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 57,000.
