Two problems related to sway bar have been reported for the 2008 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My front/rear crossmembers are rusted badly and sway bar rusted off. I bought this from a private seller in end of 2016,I was just informed from mienieke about the issue and that there is a 10 year recall on this. I went to dealership and they said recall warranty exp may 2018. I was never informed in a timely manner about the recall to get it fixed. This is my only car from my two children and myself. I need this fixed,I cannot afford a new car as I'm disabled and cant work anymore. Please help me. Please. This isnt fair I want informed about this. I should've got the recall as the new owner. Upon state inspection it was noted that k frame was rusted through resulting in replacement of same and lf control arm assy front sway bar links-repair costs $1617. 88. K frame was a major issue in 2007 Compass resulting in gov't action-my 2008 was built in 12/07. Chrysler wont stand behind problem. 2007 gov't action started with a complaint. I hope I can start this one. Vehicle was purchased new in 2008 by one adult driver age 50 (my wife). Suspension has always been a problem starting with new tie rod ends @ 14,000 miles under warranty.
