The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that she was unable to turn off the vehicle after shifting to park. The contact stated that the “shift to park” warning light was illuminated. The contact called a tow truck company, and the driver disconnected both batteries to turn the vehicle off. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed with needing both batteries to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure a second time. The contact towed the vehicle to a second local dealer, bob baker Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram fiat (5555 car country dr, carlsbad, CA 92008: (760) 268-9032) where the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the trunk latch electrical system was draining the batteries. The manufacture had been contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was about 44,000.

2 12v/24v/48v Battery problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2022

The contact’s son owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled without warning and loss power. The contact’s son was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an auto repair center where it was diagnosed that the auxiliary battery drained the core battery and the auxiliary and core battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable. The VIN was unavailable.

3 12v/24v/48v Battery problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2022

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while stopped at a stop light, the vehicle turned off and the start/stop system warning light illuminated. The contact disconnected the battery and then reconnected the battery and the vehicle started operating normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the second battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was contacted and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.
