Five problems related to engine stall have been reported for the 2018 Jeep Compass. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Coolant temperature shoots up (hot) for 5 -30 seconds then engine stalls. Can't restart or stalls in the middle of driving. Has happened stationery, in motion, turning, freeway and city streets. Also can has happened all 4 seasons: fall,, spring, summer and winter. Has been happening for 2 years and no dealership can find out what's wrong.

My vehicle is stalling and the oil on the vehicle is been consume rapidly I took my car and told the dealer that this is not normal they asked me to please take it every time the engile oil light will come on which it's very often. Engine oil monitors fail to engage prior to engine stalling- I was getting on the highway when my car started stalling luckly no one was behind me and I reached out to the dealer at Chrysler in elgin IL - they had me drop my vehicle and offer me a rental. Claiming that they will contact Chrysler - Jeep to get my engine replace or fixed the issue since they mention. I was told that there a numerous customer with the same issue vehicle at risk of sudden engine stalling without warning,� the Jeep Compass class action lawsuit alleges. But today I was notify to return the rental back and that I must drive my car and take it to the dealer once I reach 1,000 miles I talk to rachel the assistant manager to provide me with the ref# number and proof that she contacted Jeep and she decline stating she didnt get one. -- I on the other hand went online and file a complain with Jeep corporate office online and received a ref # right away. . ( which is why I don't believe the assistant manager at elgin Chrysler. . She doesn't have paperwork of it or anything) I'm still waiting for a resolution or hear from Jeep corporate office this is my reference # 77965874.
My car engine stalls all of a sudden while the car is in motion. I noticed this issue 2 times in last summer (2019) when driving on the local/town roads. After that this did not happen until 2 days ago (1/29/2020) while I was returning home. And it happened again yesterday (1/30/2020) while I had left my school campus. I have been getting my car serviced at the recommended service intervals. When the car stops right in the middle of the road, the display asks me to shift into p and restart the car. This is an extreme hazard to the driver/passengers. I checked online and there are other people who too have had similar issues. Is NHTSA taking any action against Jeep or would you end up waiting for fatalities before any investigation into this problem? here is an article that describes the problem mentioned by me. . Consumer bought car in August 2018 (memorial weekend). Upon obtaining the car, consumer noticed that car appeared to attempt to stall when break; however, the engine would kick back in and not stall. Last week (end of November 2018) consumer was driving the car and stopped at an individuals home to pick them up when the car completely shut off with the stop/start system warning light came on. Consumer turned off vehicle and restarted the car; light went off and car ran as normal. Consumer was driving the car today 12/5/2018 when stopped at a red light the car stalled and restarted, putting it into a "power saving mode" where the radio did not work and parking break light came on along with transmission light, and start/ stop light. Upon getting the car to the destination (half a mile) the engine light illuminated. Consumer turned off car and attempted to turn it back on. Car instruments turned on; however, would was observed clicking and would not turn over. The transmission light is still on and the start/stop is illuminated. I have read many of the "complaints" for this vehicle and they are consistent with the same things I have been experiencing.
