Eight problems related to air conditioner have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Air conditioning - after 100,000 miles I had to replace my air conditioning system due to leaks. Now I am having problem with water leaking into my car. The replacement parts for the air conditioning are not properly made (in my opinion). There is no drain hose to the evaporator - just a lip - that is suppose to drain out onto the ground. The lip is not long enough to allow the water to dip properly. Therefore, I kept getting water in my backseat floorboard.
Consumer states that when turning on the air conditioner, there was hot air blowing out of the fent. Took to dealer and they put on a new evaporater coil. Consumer states this corrected the problem. Please provide any further information.
Consumer states the drainage for the air conditioning is getting clogged and flowing into the vehicle's back seat causing flooding. Vehicle repaired by dlr in 06/01, but problem reoccurred in 07/01. In 12/01 the evaporator was replaced and a screen was inserted into the drain vent area. Repair was only temporary as leaking reocurred 09/20/02. Nlm.
