One problem related to recreational vehicle lpg tank valve/gauge has been reported for the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I had the required "tow hitch" installed at dealer as part of recall. Received written notice at time of pickup of vechicle stating "do not attempt to tow with this campaign-installed trailer hitch assembly. Your vehicle was not equipped with a Chrysler oem trailer tow package and this campaign trailer-hitch assembly does not include the necessary wiring harness and/or other heavy-duty components required for towing. " I contacted the dealer to inquire cost of the wiring harness and other needed parts for towing and was told that is not the reason that I could not tow with this hitch. I was told that I should not tow with this hitch due to the gauge of the metal used is not strong enough. Is this correct? if this hitch is unable to be used for towing I would like some direction from the manufacturer advising that towing with this hitch is prohibited. I have also seen through research on the internet that this is a common statement being made by dealerships.
