Takata recall.
Takata air bag and fuel tank explosion on impact. As of the date of this report, I did not received any document from Chrysler concerning theses 2 safety issue with my Jeep. We are located in south florida. I've call some Chrysler dealer in my area, and they say that there are no recall for my car concerning theses two safety issue. Nothing has happen so far, but I don't want to continue playing the odd that noting will happen to the life of my wife,my children and myself when driving the Jeep in florida. I will appreciate receiving any input from the NHTSA in that matter, and also a recall notice from Chrysler to fix the two safety issue. The soonest will the best. Thank you for addressing my concern.
I don't remember too much but I just remember swerving to avoid hitting another vehicle (hit it anyway) and ended up hitting another vehicle head on (going in the opposite direction). His air bags deployed but mine didn't.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v046000 (air bags); however, the part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Blower motor resistor heated up to the point that there was smoke coming from under the passenger side glove compartment. After further investigation it was discovered that the wires and the resistor had both been charred and melted. Not only do I no longer have any heat or a/c but I also no longer have a window defroster and this poses a serious safety issue to myself, any passengers I may have and as well to other drivers on the road. Not to mention the fire that was only barely thwarted off.
The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the clock spring failed which caused the cruise control, radio and horn to fail as well. The dealer confirmed the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The VIN was unvailable. The current and failure mileages were approximately 80,000.
My car has major problems and I can't afford to fix, then I find the problem that I have is due to the automaker's problem because the car is on recalls for the problems I am having. I received no notices on any recall, and when I got on the web-site to check for recalls there are as many as 10 major problems with my car and Jeep. Some could cause me to crash or even explode while driving. Where are my recall notices?.
Vehicle involved in major solo head-on auto accident, airbag system did not work property on driver and passenger sides, and completely fail to function causing severe bodily and neorologic injuries to my son. Please help us on this matter. Thanks.
Driving 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited when I was involved in head on crash (other driver ran red light). Was traveling at about 35 mph. Neither driver nor passenger air bag deployed in my vehicle.
My son was driving our 2000 Jeep cherokee lareado when he was hit on the passenger side from another vehicle on March 25, 2002 at approx. 1:30 pm. The force of this collision push the car towards the left and the Jeep went directly into a cement wall head on. Fortunately both the driver and passenger had seat belts on, but neither airbags deployed when the vehicle hit the wall. At the time of impact, my son did hit the windsheild, which cause several facial cuts and could of been avoided had the airbags deployed. This malfunction on my vehicle concerns me not only because he could of been more seriously injured, but others in same situations could substain very serious injuries. Nlm.
While driving, vehicle was hit nearly head on by another vehicle that was travelling between 35mph and 45mph, the airbags experienced no deployment, the driver and passenger were both injured in the accident.
